The doorbell rang for the umpteenth time, and it really bothered Bella to get up to check who it was. She really had no idea why she felt that way, why she felt that she couldn’t get up and face whoever was at the door.
Now, the ringing was more urgent with the combination of hasty knocks. She sighed as she paced herself towards the front door of her apartment, hoping that it would be someone she would want to see. Looking through the peep hole after debating with herself for a few additional minutes, she saw Rose on the other side, looking very agitated.
She opened the door and watched as Rose muttered swears under her breath as she turned on her heel. “What the hell were you doing? How long did I need to wait out here?”
“I’m sorry,” Bella replied as she let Rose into the living room. “I thought it would be him trying to get me to come back to him.”
Rosalie’s eyes softened as she turned around from the picture she was admiring. “I didn’t know, honey. How many times has it been now?”
“This week or this month?” she asked, trying to lighten up the mood.
Rosalie sat down on the couch and beckoned Bella to sit by her. “How many times, Bella?”
Bella looked at her, trying to crack a smile. “Three.”
Her voice screeched, “This week?”
She cringed at the tone of Rose’s voice as she meekly nodded to the outburst. Rosalie stood up as she angrily dialed a number. Bella looked at her scared as she mumbled, “What are you doing?”
“Showing this man that he needs a foot up his…” Rosalie trailed off as she heard a familiar voice on the other line saying hello.
Bella slammed her phone shut as she swore under her breath. “What the hell are you doing?”
“I’m trying to do something, Bella, because you won’t do anything about it.”
Bella sighed as she looked at her. “Rose, I don’t need your help for closure.”
Rosalie interrupted, “But…”
“Rose, I am a big girl. I can handle this. Anyway, why are you here again?”
Rosalie sighed deeply as she spoke. “We’re taking a road trip to Rochester this weekend. Wanna come?”
Bella laughed as she managed to ask, “Uh, why?’
Rosalie’s face burned with crimson as she muttered, “We’re going shopping for Emmett’s birthday.”
Bella loved how the mention of her brother caused Rosalie to immediately blush. Not that Bella needed to know the exact details of their relationship, but she knew that Rose was good for her brother. She cared about him ever since she found him when he was almost attacked by a bear near home. After that, he was left in the hospital with a new found love. They hadn’t been separated since that day four years ago.
“Okay, why in Rochester?”
Rosalie’s eyes glistened in the light as she replied, “You’ll see.”

Edward surveyed the restaurant eyeing the couples engaged in their own romantic parlances. He sat, waiting for his girlfriend to appear any minute. He looked at his cell phone periodically to see if she had texted him to say why she was going to be late. Nonetheless, she was usually late to their get-togethers, so he was accustomed to her tardiness.
Tonight was their two month anniversary, and he wanted something special planned for them. As a man who moved from one woman to another in less than a week, being with a woman for two months was definitely worth celebrating.
The waiter once again had made his way to the table with a couple of menus in hand. “Would you like to order now, sir?” he said, giving Edward a haughty glance. As Edward was about to bide himself some more time, he heard his girlfriend speak up.
“Sorry I’m late. The traffic on the way here was brutal.” Edward rose, finally seeing her, and left a quick kiss on her lips.
“That’s alright.” Tanya eyeballed the restaurant in a flash and was fully impressed.
“Could you give us a minute?” Tanya asked the waiter, and with a shrug of his shoulders he was gone.
“Wow, Edward. You’ve really outdone yourself,” Tanya sarcastically mused as she laid her purse on the table and snuggled herself on the chair. She leaned forward, her eyes lingering on his lips. “This is a lot better than the other get up you did for me.”
Edward swallowed hard, and Tanya could see his Adam’s apple bobbing in his throat like a boat bobbing in the water. Tanya smiled as she leaned forward. “Want to order now?” She licked her lips in delight as she looked up at his strained face.
“Of course.”
He beckoned the waiter, but Tanya stopped him. She sighed as she leaned back on her chair. “Look we need to talk.”
Edward looked at her peculiarly, wondering what she was babbling on about. She knew what they would be doing after dinner, so what would they want to talk about?
“About what?” he asked, taking a sip of his water.
“I think,” she started, biting her lip, “Edward, I think you are an amazing guy, a very sweet guy, and a handsome guy. But I think we need time apart.”
Edward didn’t know what he was hearing. He never had faced this before. He had never had a woman break up with him before!
“What…are you saying?” he asked hesitantly.
“It’s just…I’m getting tired of you, Edward. To be honest, I’m not having fun. I need a little excitement in life, and you’re not giving it to me. Besides, I met someone,” Tanya replied a little more confidently, knowing that Edward wouldn’t kill her now.
“Met someone?” he yelled, his tone of depression now missing as his anger was now evident. “Not enough fun?”
“Keep your tone down,” Tanya hushed him as she looked around, with the stares grilled at them. She had never been so ashamed in all of her life, and it was all his fault.
“Keep it down? You practically cheat on me and you are telling me to keep it down?”
Tanya stood up and whispered, “I didn’t cheat on you. I would never do that to you. I treated you so fairly, but you’re the one having affairs behind my back. I see no difference with me wanting a fun and loving relationship.”
Edward stood up, grabbing her wrist. “I do love you. Don’t you see? We have been with each other for two months. Doesn’t that say something?”
Tanya looked up and shook her head. “Unless you show me that you can love a person for who she is and not for her body, nothing you say will make me come back to you.”
Tanya stormed out of the restaurant, leaving Edward think about what she had just said.
