An awesome one-shot! Poor Edward; you really convey him well here.

I'd love it if you would give us a list of your Portugese translations, though most of them are obvious in context.
Nice reading!
Author's Response: I'd contemplated doing that, but thought that the context alone would provide enough of a clue, and a glossary for a 1,900 word one-shot story would be a bit...pendantic? Professorial? Boring? Maybe if I ever get brave enough to again write in a language with which I'm unfamilar...

That was absolutely great. Unique point of view (I wouldn't even think of writing from that perspective) and the way you describe Edward's emotions is incredible. I was nearly heartbroken. In a good way. :)

Author's Response: Thank you! I enjoy tinkering with different, unusual points of view. Kind of the "fly on the wall" thing, I suppose. It was a truly heartbreaking moment for everyone when Edward mistakenly thought Bella was dead and that made this story both enjoyable yet painful to write. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Thay was great. Its interesting to imagine how was Edward in a favela. And what people would thing about him.
I am brazilian and even tough I dont live in Brasil anymore. I would like to help you with the português, you mixed it a little with Spanish.
espetada is actually espetinho
galhina com caril is written galinha com caril
dotour = doutor
mi esposa = minha esposa
mi hermano = meu irmão
Madre de Dios = Mãe de Deus
I hope i could help.
Carol
Author's Response: Thank you very much, Carol, for the help with Portuguese. Escribo y hablo español un poquito. However, I don't know Portuguese at all. And it shows! I will correct the errors you noted.

Great story, you're a good writer!
I need to tell you, I started to read it imagining I wouldn't like it because I'm brazilian and, well, most of the time people describes Brazil like the most ridiculous place. But you did ok. A couple of portuguese mistakes, but that's alright. Just one thing I'd like to say is that Rio is not the most dangerous city in the world and not everybody is that poor. I mean, of course it is more dangerous than most places and there are a lot of poor people, but it's not like that.
I know you've never been here so there is no way you'd know these things. I hope you understand that I'm not criticizing your work, just pointing out a thing or two. Apart from that, I really liked it, you have a lot of talent and I'd love to see more of yor writing.
:)
Author's Response: Oh dear, I do hope I did not offend you, nor any other Brazil natives with my depiction of Rio. It's my understanding that it's a varied city, a city of extremes, with both great wealth and deep poverty, affluent yet crime ridden. Because SM indicated that Edward took shelter in a tenement, I was limited in my story to a poor area and its residents. I tried to depict one of the barrios (favelas, I believe they are called) to the best of my very limited ability, but I am certain I made many mistakes. Thank you for being so gracious about them, and for responding positively to my efforts!

That was beyond incredible. What a talented writer you are. I have chills from reading it!
Author's Response: Thank you, what a kind thing to say! I'm very glad you enjoyed it.
