I've read quite a number of stories concerning Edward during his rebellious years, and I must say very few of them come even close to holding a light to what you've done here.

The emotions are so beautifully put on paper, neither neglecting them, nor putting it so bluntly that the reader feels talked down to.

I must say I was shocked to see how few reviews this had. It's a shame not more people have found and read this, for it is truly a gem.

I loved the insight into the character you have.
That he did right from the start not ask for absolution.

The end was beautiful as well, although I couldn't help wishing there was more to read simply because I liked this so very much. I would have liked to read your take on his actual return home, but maybe some other time ;)
Seing that you didn't include that I thought the ending was perfect. It had the right amount of conclution of the old and opening for something new to it.

I definately got a new favourite today.

Author's Response:

I am touched and flattered by your review.  It is one of the best I have ever received.  It makes me happy that you took the time to let me know what you liked about it, rather than simply saying "OMG" or "'Whoa" as many reviewers do.

What other "rebellion" stories have you read?  I highly recommend "Midnight Terror" by Jessica, if you haven't already read it.  Her story was the inspiration for mine. You might find it on Freedom Fanfiction Writers.com.

"Confession" ends the way I meant it to, and no sequel is planned.

If you'd like to take a look at some of the other things I've written, they're over at fanfiction.net under the same pen name. I'd welcome your input.  Most are too short for Twilighted's requirements.  I've ideas for longer stories, but am currently on a reading binge.

What have you written?  What are your favorite stories?  (I just finished "Wide Awake."  "Emancipation Proclamation" and "The Lost Boys" are epic, and "The Fallout" deserves the fanfiction equivalent of a Hugo Award.  I also love "The Cannabean Betrothal" and "A Rough Start." by ItzMegan73.

Please keep in touch!

Very interesting insight of the years that Edward stayed away for Carlisle and Esme.

Thank you for your review!  If you'd like to read another and much more detailed story about the same four years, I strongly suggest you look up "Midnight Terror" by Jessica over on www.freedomfanfictionwriters.com,  It was the story that inspired me to write Confession, even though MT was only 3 chapters long when I discovered it.  In my story, Edward's descent into madness begins with a reference to a place and a line of dialogue in her story.  I asked permission and she granted it, so in turn, I recommend her story.  It is excellent.

I really love the thought thats behind the last scentence. A home and people who love you are the closest things to heaven on earth.

Wow! I had never given much thought to what it was like for Edward when he was out on his own, or to what brought him home. This was very interesting and thought provoking. Please keep writing!

Author's Response:

Thank you so much for your encouragement and your review. It's the first one on this site!

If you would like to read more of my stories, I have several on fanfiction.net that I haven't yet submitted to Twilighted for beta-ing. I'd appreciate your feedback on which one(s) to submit next.

Please also feel free to check out the stories I've listed as favorites.  Maybe we have some in common, maybe not--but they are all excellent reads!
