Update soon Please I love this story

Author's Response: Thanks for the encouragement.  I have seven chapters written, just waiting for my Beta's approval.  I wrote chapter 8 tonight, but I'm not sure I like it.  I think I'll sleep on it and see how I feel tomorrow.

Emmett is adorably funny.  So is Rose, but she has a boyfriend?  Poor Emmett!  Whatever will he do now? ;)

My favorite line in this, well, the one that made me laugh loudest (I think) was Jasper's response to Edward saying please -- "Edward, that only works on girls."  So funny I am still chuckling over it. :)

Author's Response:

Thanks for the review.  I'm not only inspired by family, but by the teens that I teach.  I can see that line coming out of their mouths.

Just wait.  I have several chapters up that are waiting for my Beta.  Rose's boyfriend issue is addressed soon.

Emmett mooning Edward is very funny, but Edward's response really made me laugh.  Maybe you do this in later chapters, but can you explain a little bit about why the boys would act so immature after being vampires so long?  I know this is AU fanfic, but I still would like a better handle on that.  Reading on... :)

Author's Response:

I think that what I am trying to show is more the brotherly bonds.  They act immature around each other, but you will see in later chapters that they can step up and be mature.  My husband and his older brother goof around all the time when they are together (they always have--and my hubby is 38 and his brother is 41).  It isn't immature as much as just how they interact as brothers.  The portrayal of Emmett is based on some interactions I've witnessed between my husband and his brother--not that they've ever mooned each other, that I know of at least.

The fact that none of them has ever had a girlfriend or even tried to attract a girl makes for a lot of awkwardness.  Emmett has been doing his homework in regards to attracting girls, but Edward has been too prude and Jasper has been too shy.  When the three of them finally encounter girls that they like, only Emmett does well (at least at first--his time is coming).  The other two have difficulty because of their predatory nature--they have a hard time turning off the vampire.  Mixed with their inexperience, it makes for some rather embarassing situations.  The relationships will not automatically happen.  Everything will take time.  The girls are not so easy to get.

Thanks for bringing up valid questions.  I hope the answer was satisfactory for you.  Thank you for taking time to review.

Aw, poor Edward. I like how he said "She completely hot." lol Your take on the boys is awesome. Update soon! :)

Author's Response: Yeah, the lines are fun to write.  Many of them are based on what I hear from teens that I teach.  I know that the language the boys use around each other is not always keeping within tradition (Edward would not talk that way in SM's Twilight), but I want them to act like brothers when they are around each other.  I wanted the family unit stronger in my universe.  Thanks for the review.

OMG! Your story is so funny! I love how Alice reacted to Jasper! Emmett is freaking hilarious!!

Author's Response: Jasper has issues with turning off the vampire.  Emmett is one of my favorites too.  Thanks for the review.  Glad you like it.

Ok! Laughing my ass off! hilarious! Cannot wait for more!

Author's Response:

Glad you liked it.  I was giggling as I was writing.  I only had a sister, but I'm a married to a man who only had brothers and we have two sons.  I have enjoyed watching my husband interact with his brothers--it's hilarious.  Girls just are just so different.  We don't usually goof off like boys do.  We have too much of a filter, and we are too guarded.  I'm not saying that's a bad thing.  I just find the differences interesting.

Thanks for the review.

Wow, this is interesting.  Glad I ran across it.  I LOVE your portrayal of Emmett.  So many people write him as just a big oaf.

Author's Response:

As I said, I married someone with an Emmett-like personality, so he's a very endearing character to me.  I'm like you--he's not stupid.  He's just all about being himself.

Thanks for the review.

I like how this has a different twist on things. First off the Alice and Jasper stuff is great. I liek them not being together right away. And Emmett as the gentleman we all knew he was.

Scary bringing Royce into this. He is very bad, even worse than James.

Author's Response:

Writing Royce was really hard.  I agree, he is worse than James.

I work with teens, so I am enjoying writing about all the social awkwardness that I hear and see.  Thanks for the review.

cant wait to see what happens with bella and edward

Reviewer: starshinedown (Signed) · Date: September 10, 2008 06:01 AM · On: Chapter 3: Officially Freaked out

Iiiiiiintersting. Will Alice get over being afraid of Jasper? Edward will, I hope, make an ass out of himself--there's nothing like Embarassed Edward--and what will Bella think of Edward?

Yeah, can you tell I like? I look forward to updates!

Author's Response: Chapter 6 will contain a very socially awkward situation for Edward.  I have written a rough draft, and it was really fun to write.  Thanks for the review.

Great story!  I love love love your version of Emmett - I've always imagined him as a big old teddy bear, and this is a perfect characterization of him.  I also love the way you've written the interaction between the three brothers - hysterical!

Creepy, intense Jasper is cracking me up!  I'm curious to see how Edward and Bella interact, as well.

You did a great job writing Royce's POV - he's a creeping scumbag.  Ugh.  So, is Emmett gonna bite him?  Please?  Not turn him, just drain him dry.  Or maybe just knock him over the head a little too hard, that would be good, too.

Author's Response:

I married a guy who is a cross between Emmett and Jasper.  When he's at home or with friends or family, he's more of an Emmett.  When he's in unfamiliar social settings, he's much more of a Jasper until he becomes comfortable.

My husband also has two brothers.  One of his brothers acts a lot like Emmett, and his wife sort of reminds me of Rosalie.  When my husband and his Emmett-like brother get together, it's hilarious.  That's sort of the inspiration.  I work with kids, so that also helps.

As far as what happens to Royce, I will just say that he will get what he deserves at some point in the story.  I have some ideas, but I haven't made any decisions.

I'm really intrigued by this premise, as I have yet to see it anywhere else. I can't wait to see where you go with it!

(And for Edward's awkward social moments... I love me some awkward Edward...)

Author's Response:

Edward's social awkwardness is my favorite to write because he's such an easy mark.  He's so serious and intense.  Emmett's social awkwardness is actually the most difficult because he's so confident and he laughs things off so easily.

Thanks for the review.

ooo that was fun more please? lol very good

Reviewer: KatieBelle (Signed) · Date: September 07, 2008 04:59 PM · On: Chapter 1: Shotgun

Love it! I really like that they act like actual 17 yr olds - it makes it really fun. Can't wait for the next chap!

Author's Response:

I like that they act like 17 year olds when they are together too.  I just wanted them to seem like normal brothers.  Boys harass each other so much.  It's fun to write about.
