You weren't joking when you said it would be fast paced! I felt like I just read five different chapters, which is a good thing because there's no waiting to find out what happens in the story. However, I had a hard time focusing on what was happinging and needed to re-read passages more than once.
I love that Esme had the idea on how to overthrow the Volturi. I do wish we could have seen her come up with it or have some say in the strategizing. I was a little confused at Esme's past when she was talking about growing up in a monarchy. So, you clearly have deviated from canon in that portion of the story. (If you are unaware, you can read more about Esme and her time before Carlisle and her change, as said by Stephenie Meyer at http://www.twilightlexicon.com/?p=22)
The first time we see Bella's POV and Emmett's POV in this chapter were welcome. It was nice to get different POVs of the battle. The pacing up until the brothers walked into the room was a bit frantic though. Part of this could be stylistic, but it doesn't do much for the read-ability. I did think that the pacing of the battle with the brothers was better, and slowing down a bit let us see more details of what was happening. Slowing down allows your writing to blossom. I especially enjoyed the details about the colors of the relationships Bella sees. I would like to know more about the feelings Marcus actually had for his brothers and then with the Cullens.
Author's Response: I am aware of Esme's past, I use the twilightlexicon timeline a lot. I just wanted to change it so that it fit with why Esme was feeling the way she was.

Great chapter. I love when Emmett get's excited about fighting. He's always up for it, and makes it sound like so much fun. I also love how you gave Esme a voice, you never really get to know her. I'm looking forward to how you're going to wrap up this little journey of yours.

It was kind of Marcus to thank Bella for releasing him from his bonds to his brothers. I'm glad he gets to go back with the Cullens. Cool idea. :)
