I agree. VERY similar to [restless to climb]. Plus, if anything, no one would sing something so different from Spring Awakening such as Fiddler on the Roof. The closest 'showtunes' would be from Across the Universe if for some reason a person decided against the casting director's request to prepare a alt./folk rock song.

If you had done more of your SA homework, I probably would've enjoyed it more. Sorry.

So, i'm really excited about the prospect of this story. I have an obsession with Spring Awakening and really can't get enough. As I am writing this, i'm listening to the soundtrack.

I can't wait for more chapters and to find out a little more. I hope that you do some about the actual show. I have seen it a couple of times and, as I said before, am really excited about this.

This is reading eerily similar to a story that I beta, IngenueFatale's [restless to climb].

Anyway.

I've worked in theatre for a while now, so I hope you don't mind if I give you a few friendly tips. Feel free to ignore them, but I feel like they have to be said:

1. The cardinal rule of theatre is to not sing a showtune for your audition. You just don't do it. Especially for Spring Awakening. They ask that you prepare a modern piece, preferably with a rock background. The only circumstance in which you would sing a showtune at an audition is when they request it of you, after your first audition.

2. Most auditions do not happen on stage. When shows are in casting and rehearsal, there's usually another show happening on the stage. Auditions would happen in a large rehearsal room, usually.

This reads far, FAR too close to Restless To Climb by IngenueFatale, even in one chapter and given the premise, the use of songs as chapter title, etc.

This frankly makes me very uncomfortable.
