Wonderful chapter. I hope he does try and quit. Yes, it will be a long road for him. I think he was surprised because he actually heard the babies heartbeat. Um maybe now he won't call it demon child because the heartbeat makes it real.

Author's Response: Thank you! He is trying hard to quit but... it's for the wrong reason's right now. Like Bella said, she wants him to quit because he wants to, not just for her.
His reaction for the heart beat was my favorite part to write, and you're theory is pretty spot on for a later chapter.
I drink too much mt. dew!

Yay!!! I am happy Edward is on the wagon...for now. I still wonder how Emmett will react to ALice's being pregnant. Also what Carlisle will say regarding the Alice's pending pregnancy & Emmett's marriage. Edwards drinking seems like something small compared to the other two issues. I like that Bella pushes him & doesn't take any shit. A strong Bella is a good Bella. :)

Emmett's reaction will be something no one will expect! It will be a little while before he gets clued in though. No one will expect Carlisle's reaction either I hope... it'll be good.
Edward's drinking is still a very big part of this story, yes it's small compared to the other two issues but to Bella, his issues are the most important. And she doesn't put up with Edward's shit, that's another reason why I like her. But you gotta remember she was friends with Jake... and he was a pain in the ass at times so... she knows how to handle her own.

Edwards reaction was my favorite part to write. But... he's Edward and he's a dick so... I think demon child stays for now.

Just finished reading chapter 18 - thanks for being more realistic about Bella's first time. I really hate reading stories where the girl experiences just a brief twinge, then immediately has an orgasm. Maybe it happens that way for some people but it sure didn't for me, so I always roll my eyes a bit when I read stories like that.

So now to what I think of the story. So far so good I love that Edward can not think of drinking simply because Bella makes him happy. I am sad that Esme is gone because I love her character but it works. Don't hate me that I enjoy Jacob being gone because the angst from loss is a good read after so many love triangle ones. I cannot wait to see what you do with Carlisle when he finds out all three new developments.

I understand Edward's wanting to back it up a bit, but he needs to make love to Bella when they aren't drunk, and make up for the first time.

Edward is just trying to figure shit out himself. He doesn't want to burden Bella with his problems. But I promise, the next time they do it... they are sober, I promise

Yay for Alice and Edward defending each other, even though it had to be provoked by Bella. :P She's a smarty, isn't she?
I cried when Bella was envisioning Jake talking to her. :( Jake needs to come to her again in a dream or something and tell her that he's not mad that she has new friends. Bella needs that reassurance or something. Poor Bella. :(
GAH, the car. If they ever do anything remotely sexual again, it's going to be amazing because they have this pull towards each other. OMG. Can't wait! :D

I thought it was just right. The pain and insecurities are very normal. I hope Edward quits being so self-destructive soon!
Author's Response: I'm glad you think I've done a good job. I wanted a more realistic look on how death can tear a family apart.
Edward has a long road a head of him, and while some things do get fixed, he's got a lot of problems. They all get worked out slowly because no one ever fully recovers from things right away.

Bella wasn't really trying to yell at Alice and Edward. She was just trying to set things straight, and get them talking again. And it worked thankfully... for now.

This chapter, and whole story for that matter, are kind of fabulous! I relly like your writing style and this plot. It's all original, which is really refreshing:) Best birthday memory...probably when I ran my brother into a tree in his plastic car. He wouldn't let me ride in it and that made me mad, so I ran his butt into a tree:) Then, I went inside and ate my birthday cake.

Best birthday memory... Hmmm, I was in England with my mom, visiting a friend of hers. He was driving us to a surprise location and then I realized we were going to London! Which in itself is awesome, but then we also went to see the lion king musical.. :] Kickass day!

Great chapter. I hope Bella doesn't always see Jake when she's passed out. It may lead to some reckless behavior. I wonder what Emmett is going to do to Japser when he finds out Alice is pregnant. Jasper hot the nail on the head with edward. He has abandoment issues. I am glad he has Bella to help him work through them!
Author's Response: Hm... I never even thought about Bella seeing Jake each time she passes out. Good little idea there :P
Everyone will be shocked by Emmett's reaction, I can assure you. It's going to be fucking epic.
And yes, Jasper was very smart about what he told Edward. He does have abandonment issues, and it gets adressed very well in a later chapter that is going to break some hearts.
But you love the angst, doncha?
