Oh and funniness aside, I don't remember how far along Bella is, but can't they take the baby/wouldn't they take the baby, once they knew that the lungs were mature enough. There is a test that can tell them that, and not having to support the baby's life and her own, might make recovery go more rapidly.

She is going to be under so much stress when she wakes up. There is the baby's health, her health, the Edward mess, the Charlie mess and her feelings towards the rest of the Cullens. Pile all that on top of regular pregnancy hormones and she'll be a disaster for sure no matter who sees her first or last.
I can't wait to see what happens next!

Heartbreaking, but not unexpected, all things considered. :(
I'm just counting on what you told us awhile back...you said that you believed in happy endings and that we are heading towards one...eventually. Many bad decisions were made over a period of months that unfortunately have equally bad consequences. I'm trusting you that in the end everyone will be ok, and enjoying your talented storytelling in the meantime. You do an amazing job painting a picture, expressing emotion so vividly with your words. Sheesh.. I should hate you for always making me cry, but I don't! Not even close. The complete opposite in fact cause I lurve you like you'll never know! I don't think any story I've read has been able to make me cry like NLT. I was biting my lip the whole time, trying to hold it in, and then when Carlisle said "Broken Heart Syndrome", I fell apart. You are GOOD. This chapter was definitely a tear jerker. Thanks for the warning you gave in advance :')

Ok yeah I can't do this anymore. I think I am just gonna wait till the story is done or things improve to a certain point before I read further. God it really hurts to read (i know weird way of saying your writing is awesome) I would ask why they don't try to get the baby out but if her nutrition has been this bad it would be a bad move. I just want to ask though couldn't they insert an ng tube, ehh won't do much good now. I can't do this anymore and that says sooo much I can take a lot but this is man. Its a good thing though.

This was my favorite part of the chapter:
“Then I want to be worthy of her forgiveness,” he answered, honestly. “I want her to forgive me for all of this.” His eyes were wet, but he held the tears, his hand clenching the arm of the couch. “I want her to trust me again, someday. And I want to take her home. I want to take her and our baby home. And make a life. Go to school and make it okay and give her… give them… all that they deserve. Make her understand every day, for forever, how much I truly love her and try every day to deserve her. And our child.”
Bella has been through hell for the better part of a year, but like Angela, I hope that Bella has it in her to believe in Edward, just once more. I hope that she does not just for Edward, or for Bella, or for their baby, but for all their sakes. Bella might have suffered the worst in all this, but at this point that doesn't really matter. They all made mistakes, they all suffered, but they also all deserve happiness. Thanks for another wonderful chapter. :)
P.S. The good thing about being behind, is having another chapter to read right now...lol.
Author's Response: That is exactly the point and I am SO grateful you got it! Save for maybe Angela, EVERY character in this story made mistakes. They are all suffering consequences. It wasn't just Edward- his just happened to be the most egregious. Thanks so much for reading and reviewing!

Author's Response: Ah, just remember that this story is about the journey, not the resolution. There will be a resolution, the HEA, but this is the tale of the emotional journey each character takes. It's not a sprint to the finish.
You will get an E/B meeting in chapter 23...
