Nice chapter. It was interesting to have a look into his brain. I know this is Edward and Bellas story but I wonder what his back story is, even though you went over it a little bit. Thanks for the author note to let us know that it'd get worse before it gets better. I'm totally in for the ride with you.

Jasper's a cool dude. Glad we get to know him a little better. Given everything he's been through my guess is he'll be able to provide some insightful support for Bella. That is if he can keep his guilt contained. Can't wait for the next chapter.

I don't pay enough attention to know if you have a regular posting schedule, but I was just thinking this morning how I hoped there was a new NLT chapter coming soon and, ta da, here it is!
I liked getting Jasper's perspective, since he's only been discussed minimally in other characters memories and conversations thus far. He's a bit more badass than most Jaspers I've read and I'm guessing that will really work for this story, plus it connects him more to Rose who is always badass.
I agree with your AN--there is a lot of story to get through and I wouldn't want to just jump to puppy dogs and sunshine and rainbows, because that wouldn't feel satisfying or fair to the characters. I *have* to continue to hope that the happy will happen eventually, but I am really enjoying everything that you're developing in the meantime.

Yes, I agree Jasper was fun to read. A seemingly calm and rational mind admidst the angst and chaos of gloom. I am so very glad he and Roasalie will be joining the family. Jasper will be there for Alice and Rosalie for Emmett so the stress of their separtation will be head off at the pass. More importantly they will be there to complete the family as a whole...You know the old saying "There is strength in numbers".
Yeah, I was able to actually get off my couch with this chapter. Did some dishes, a load of laundry, hell I even cooked. I noticed you weren't behind it (the couch) at this time. But something isn't right, it is just a little too quiet. I lived 10 years in hurricane alley, I'd know the calm befor the storm anywhere, yep, it's time to batton down the hatches....

it was good to hear from Jasper. i was so wrapped up in E/B that i forgot that jasper 'started' the chainof events. it was a breath of fresh air, or a slap in the face to wake me up and mak me realize, that it wasn't just B/E that were hurting. they all were.

Maybe it is just the foul language and the mental health stuff but your Jasper reminds me of Wide Awake's Edward. I think it is great. I am glad you put Jasper in here because it really shows the whole family coming together to tackle their problems together. Can't wait for 23!

okay I totally agree with your point about this story being about the journey and not the destination.
Some of the greatest stories have pain, tragedy, love, romance and saddness! I have 2 quotes i'm gonn share (not that you asked...but they speak to this topic)
“Bottom line is, even if you see them coming, you're not ready for the big moments. No one asks for their life to change, not really. But it does. So, what are we, helpless? Puppets? Nah. The big moments are gonna come, you can't help that. It's what you do afterwards that count. That's when you find out who you are.”
Now this quote speaks to me on so many levels!!! The truth we don't see the big moments coming --- some are wonderous like the falling in love, or the day we realize we're gonna spend our lives with someone and some are so tragic like the death of a loved one --- the kind of death where you realize your life is forever changed and you're not sure how your heart will ever heal. However without any of these moments, how would you ever become the person you were meant to be?
and the next quote:
"Passion, it lies in all of us. Sleeping...waiting...and though unwanted, unbidden, it will stir...open its jaws, and howl.
"It speaks to us...guides us... Passion rules us all. And we obey. What other choice do we have?

This quote has always talked to me on so many levels, yes without passion we'd know some kind of peace but we would be shuttered, and dank. Think what 'your' bella and edward would be without passion?
In the end, I love this story!!! It speaks to me on so many levels, and i'm loving the journey!!!!

I loved JPOV. The Sound of Music thing was sweet. Loved this part:
