Okay... there are just a couple of things that are bothering me: 1) Carlisle has a conflict of interest here and there isn't a hospital in the US thta would risk any liability by letting him by her doctor. He could assist but he wouldn't be the one calling the shots and he wouldn't be the first one there when she woke up. Sorry, just had to get that out there... huge conflict of interest with potential liability for the hospital if anything went wrong. It would never go down like that (and yes, I do work at a hospital - have for almost 30 years) and 2) I am so sick and tired of everyone beating up Edward. He's always been an idiot - in Twilight, in all the fan fictions, etc - BUT his family has always stood by him and explained to Bella how much he loves her. They aren't doing that this time and it's pissing me off. Edward should be the one telling Bella the baby's name. Edward should have been there when she woke up. Carlisle should have explained that NONE OF THEM KNEW ABOUT THE BABY (including Edward). I'm just really getting pissed that everyone keeps dumping on Edward. Hell, he should either by in a psych ward or on some serious drugs at the rate they are bashing his self-esteem.

Author's Response:

I completely agree with you in regard to the conflict of interest.  Carlisle's friend, Aro, is the doctor in charge of her case, but even so, he wouldn't be able to treat her much if it all.  However, artistic license made me take this route.  I do know that it would not happen in real life, however, sometimes things must be adjusted for the sake of the story (in pure fiction, of course).

Jasper and Alice.  How fitting this epi was.  Alice was wonderful and funny too.  But Jasper.    Pomme I am not so sure you have written my favorite Jasper ever.

Sandra

Author's Response:

Jasper seems to have his own fan club!  Good thing I love writing him:)

That would be awful to have a child you never even knew about and have to name it without the other parent's input! But I do like the name Elizabeth Grace...

Author's Response:

It truly would be.  Edward definitely did not want to do it alone.

Yes, that was the most emotional chapter yet... Had to go find the tissue box by the time you got to Charlie's POV.

Author's Response:

A very emotional one for me to write as well.  I'm glad you feel I did it justice.

The one you said would make us cry... didn't. However, this one definitely made me cry! *sob* *sob*

Author's Response:

Well, each person had a different hot button, I guess:)

I'm not liking Charlie either... Seriously, is there ANYONE in this story that is the least bit empathetic towards Edward???

Author's Response:

I will have to disagree with you on this one.  I think Charlie was actually quite good, all things considered.  As the father of a teenaged girl who lost his daughter without a trace because she was devastated being hurt by a boy (although that one was both of their faults), finally finding her and finding out she was pregnant and ran because that boy left, I'd be pretty upset as well.  Again, not rational; emotional.  I am a mom (granted I have a son), and if someone hurt him that deeply, I would be quite upset and probably not particularly rational either.  Granted, I'd hope I would calm down in the end and think it through, but on first site....

Well at least in the past few chapters you have had Carlisle and Emmett come across a little more empathetic...

Author's Response:

I think, deep down, all of them feel for both kids.  I honestly do.  However, high stress situations often bring out the blame game.

Okay, I'm back from the store and everybody is really makeing me mad... Why are all the characters on an Edward-bashing crusade? The whole time I was at the store I kept thinking how much I hated Emmett. Now even Carlisle has all but admitted he thinks Edward is a fuck up regarding this. And seriously??? Some of them had the nerve to actually believe Edward would run off and leave a pregnant Bella??? The only one I have any 'like' for at the moment is Angela, Alice & Esme. And for all they know, Edward may be Bella's perfect cure! How do they know she will panic when she sees him? Honestly, they are making the same rash judgements about what she will or won't do that Edward did when he left her in the first place. They are no better....

Sorry, but I'm really feeling sorry for Bella AND Edward right now and I'm about ready for everyone else to go jump off a cliff!!!

Author's Response:

Please try and keep in mind that this story is about mistakes.  Every last one of these folks (except maybe Angela) made a mistake and needs some sort of redemption.  Also, the story is written from a completely emotional perspective.  What we feel (the POV"s) and what is reality (or even what we think once we've had the chance to absorb and think rationally) is not always the most coherent and fair judgement.  It don't think any of the characters are "right" or even "wrong".  It's all about perception in a time of great stress.

I'm still crying... what a crappy time for me to need to go to the store!
(I'm really glad this is a finished fan fic. I have a feeling I will be up late tonight.)

Author's Response:

There are about 3 epilogues that haven't been posted, but yes, the main story is over now...

Let's see?  How about how Bella and Edward conceived to begin with...a little happy ending there would be greatly appreciated.

How Bella and Edward conceived Elizabeth is in the Prologue ;)  But you're on the right track!

That was not a wrinkle I was expecting... Now I'm worried the baby will die and that will force Bella to leave Edward.

Author's Response:

I hope you saw in the A/N that I was not planning on harming the baby in any way.  I am sorry for the scare.

This made me all warm and fuzzy inside <3 Poor Jasper, payback is indeed a bitch but it all worked out at the end anyway. And my deepest respect to Alice for being able to pull that off. Childbirth scares me

Author's Response:

Alice definitely managed to pull a nine month mind freak on Jasper!  But you're right, it all did work out in the end...

I've been such a fail reader the last couple of weeks, sorry. But like always, I really enjoyed it, Emmett made me swoon all through the chapter and the wedding was just really perfect.

Author's Response:

*hugs*  Don't worry about taking your time!  I'm just glad you're still enjoying the story!

Well I'm sure somewhere in here you have to throw some competion for Edward...

Author's Response:

No.  There is no love triangle in this story.  It truly wouldn't add to it in the least.

Reviewer: LadyTx (Signed) · Date: February 14, 2010 11:03 AM · On: Chapter 7 - Enough

Your POVs are changing so quickly, you're giving me whiplash!

Author's Response:

Keep in mind when reading, this is an experimental story.  It is not a narrative.  The story is told from all POV's of the characters and none of them are telling you what actually happened.  Merely their own perceptions and assumptions based on what they saw and felt.  The truth of what's going on will be up to you to filter through.  There is a lot of the story I do not tell, but you will think I have, if that makes any sense.

The entire story will be told from this revolving pov.  Again, it's a bit of an experiment.  Please bear with me.

Okay, you said his leaving was similar to the book - good way to portray Jasper with them all being human. I wasn't expecting Bella to bolt from her family though. And, I assumed (yeah, I know - never do that) in the last chapter she was still in Forks but now it makes sense that even if she is 7 months pregnant, she's not where anyone knows anything about her.

Author's Response:

She left Forks the same night Edward left.

Reviewer: LadyTx (Signed) · Date: February 14, 2010 10:23 AM · On: Chapter 1 - The Beginning of the End

When you said she was sick in Biology, I knew she was pregnant. And that is the secret she will be keeping when Edward leaves. Although if that was 6 months ago, that makes her 7 months pregnant... wouldn't someone have noticed this by now???

Author's Response:

The first chapters switch times a few times.  They should be delineated within the chapter.  She was sick in Biology in September where she would have been between 4-8 weeks.  The flashbacks are to that time.  Current is in March.  I am sorry for the confusion.
