I dont think i am so much impatient with them not getting together as I am with the fact that Bella is so perceptive yet she can't see how much he needed her to be 'present.' I mean yes she was there but she was just in her own world and not as simpathetic as to his frustrations. Sure she may not be able to relate to him being an only child but she came off as though she was so wrapped up in her own feelings and thoughts that she couldnt see how frustrated and hurt he is. I am not sure if you meant to write it that way but that is how its coming off.

Hmmm... I am not sure whether you are frustrated with Bella or it is a criticism to my writing. Either way, you see what i want to be seen. Bella cares...she is curious to understand him, but she doesn't really dare to prod. On the one side because she is afraid to care more, on the other it's because she is intimidated by him. This will become more clear as we go. Also I hope it is clear that by voicing how he felt...it is in indication that she DOES see he is hurt.

Great chapter. I love the way you write Edward. It's really quite sad when you go away for awhile and return and feel out of place in you own home with your own family...I think you are really doing a great job portraying that. Finally Jasper has arrived! haha...I love that boy! And I like all the drama with J/A and Edward. I can't wait for the date...hopefully Bella will make it clear to Edward that she is interested...right? Please?

Hahahaha glad you are enjoying it so far and glad that edward's "issues" if you can call them that are coming across. I really didn't want him to lead the perfect celebrity life. As for them getting together. Bella is intimidated by Edward and he interprets that as disinterest, although...(at least i try to) make the fact that she likes him creep through from time to time (only to confuse edward more).

As for your question: You are right about the ages, but Alice already turned 19 (Edward missed her birthday) and the party will take place after the initial birthday. Bella is also 23...not sure whether I have mentioned it, either lol.

Wow, this fic is amazing. In some fics Edward is a rude and arrogant fool, but in this fic he isn't, and I am grateful for that. I'm tired of 'arrogant' Edwards.

I like the Cullen family scenes. They are so sweet... But I love Edward and Bella scenes. They are so much better... They are so cute together...

Oh, and I love Lily. “And that’s its testicles. An octopus has eight!” Hilarious. Really.

Well, while I think Edward is over-reacting just a little bit, but at the same time, I can see him feeling like a fool and someone(s) that he loves, trusts and respected have broken all of those boundries and he's feeling like a fool, and like he doesn't know himself much less the people that were supposed to be there for him reguardless....

there were bonds that have been strained and will need serious repair, and Alice playing a victum and garnering sympathy from the rest of the family and them 'ganging up' against Edward for his percieved 'unresonableness' in their eyes will just furthur push him away from them and from who he is...

it all sounds like he's trying to hang on and find himself again and to have the 'rug' repeatedly pulled out from under him, and for him to be constantly allowing Lauren to walk all over him, as from the snippits we have seen of her that she does, you won't be able to do the bbc show that you want to do cause I want you to do a big budget movie... that was just not right....

can't wait to see what will happen next!

I'm so happy that you "get" it. He is overreacting, but he also seems to have probable cause to be upset. He is a bit of a lost soul. He doesn't know himself anymore, and you are also one of the few who caught on Lauren monopolising him and pushing him in paths she sees fit. He has lost joy in what he does...he feels like he doesn't fit, but he can't really find himself back either.
