Great chapter. I feel like I'm RIGHT inside Edward's head!  Love your additions too by the way. :)

Just one point of confusion for me.  Just before the Cullen's recieve the package Carlisle bolts off to the hospital, yet just when Bella opens the gift, he's back again out of nowhere...I read the section a couple times and I'm still confused.  Either there was a minor change in plot during writing that mixed a couple things up or I totally misread something (the latter is toootally possible - I have my moments haha).  Just wanted to clarify!

Great work!

Author's Response:

Thank you!

In regard to Carlisle's abrupt exit and reentrance... I didn't catch the inconsistency until after the fact, and then I wasn't entirely sure how to 'work around it', so I let it go. I really needed him to be there during the opening of Bella and Edward's wedding gift.

At some point, I may go back and edit the chapter – just to fix the timeline of things – but it hasn't come to me yet. So, please forgive me for the oversight; I'm working very hard to not have any more in future chapters.

I love Breaking Dawn in Edward's point of view!!

Author's Response:

Thank you! I do, too! :)

I'm loving this.Awakening and the next couple of chapters are some of my favourites of the whole series.

Can't wait to keep reading.

Good stuff.

Author's Response:

Thank you so much!

Another chapter should be up very soon. :)

Whoa. I don't think I've ever read a BD fic that's ever embodied or encapsulated as much of the EPOV distilled from Stephenie Meyer. It's angsty, and wry, and sardonic, all sorts of 'distracted', and way too many steps ahead. I can only imagine how long it takes you to write a single chapter - and feel finished with it. This definately goes to the top of my list.

Author's Response:

Thank you very much!

Edward is highly emotional, and his mood can change in a fraction of a second; sometimes even I have a hard time keeping up with him! ;)

And yes, it can be very time-consuming to construct a chapter and feel good about it. Actually, the one I'm working on now has so much in it that I've had to break it into two segments.

I hope that you'll continue to enjoy reading this story!

I think for me the most perfect moment of all was the scene with Renesme and the flowers - it was so joyous and beautiful in its simplicity, and having her 'show' her parents how she saw them was lovely.   I would guess that might be your favourite.

That said, as always all your 'extras' fit exactly like lost bits of the puzzle!

Author's Response:

That little family moment is joyous and carefree, and it is very beautiful... but it's not my favorite.

My favorite emotional moment comes when Edward and Bella are in their room, talking about the trip to Brazil. It may seem a bit trivial, but I love that scene because it shows them putting aside their worries about Renesmee and coming together to find comfort and strength through each other. A close second, however, is the part where Bella fiddles with Edward's wedding ring. That is simply adorable.

And thank you! I'm so glad you enjoy all the 'extras'!

this is such an engrossing read! its very well writen and you capture edward's (and bella's) fear for their daughter not to mention their happiness just like Stephanie Meyer, if not, far better than she did! the small details you add in manage to elucidate this very well. also, i'm a big poetry fan and i loved your addition of Tennyson. it was a great scene also. i'm really enjoying seeing the story from his perspective as i felt it was sorely missed throughtout Breaking Dawn. keep up the good work, i'll be waiting for updates !

Author's Response:

Thank you very much!

There is so much emotional upheaval throughout this whole story, and sometimes it's a challenge for me to try and capture that in my writing. I'm so glad that you believe I've grasped Edward and Bella's intensity for one another and their anxiety for Renesmee.

And I'm pleased that you liked the addition of the Tennyson poem. After I read through it, it was so visually beautiful – not to mention the similarities I found in it compared to Bella and Edward's relationship – I had to use it in this chapter.

The next chapter should be up soon. :)

I LOVED this chapter.  It felt way more complete and satisfying than the same one in BD.  The scenes directly from the book are way more enjoyable with all your extra details in Edward's thoughts.  And as for the extras...I truly can't choose....I loved Renesmee putting the flowers all over E and B.  Especially having kids, that is actually something I could see a toddler do. To me, it made Renesmee more realistic than any other scene in BD.  I also liked the little exchange when Bella played with Edward's wedding ring, as well as his desperate thoughts with Bella leaving him to go to Italy. (SO sweet..)  I adore your Edward!   I knew the gift from Charlie would be a wolf.....that was a fun part to read.

Regardless, I can't tell you how much I look forward to your chapter updates. I absolutely LOVE your book. Thanks for making my dreary, rainy Chicago Sunday so much more enthralling.  Can't wait to read more!

Author's Response:

Thank you very much!

The 'flower' scene is very cute. While I was writing, I remembered when I was little I used to pick dandelions and weave them into little crowns, and I thought that Renesmee would do something similar with her parents. I really wanted to add more interaction with the three of them as a family, because there isn't a whole lot of those moments in the original novel.

And my favorite funny moment is Charlie's gift to Renesmee. I was laughing as I pictured it in my mind. But my favorite emotional moment is the scene where Bella and Edward are in their bedroom talking about the trip to Brazil. I love it because they use that time of respite to focus on one another and just share their love. But a close second is the part where Bella plays with Edward's wedding ring.

There should another update on the way in a few days. :)

This was just brilliant. I absolutely adored it. I just love hearing what Edwrad's thinking, I was starved of that in BD. My favourite passage was Edward listening to Bella read Tennyson. So beautiful and romantic. I wish MY husband listened with rapt attention when I read poetry to him...

Author's Response:

Thank you very much!

The Tennyson poem is so beautiful, as you said. It fit so well with that scene, and I loved the phrasing of it, I just had to put it in my story.

I actually have two – well, almost three – favorite moments. The first is the funny moment involving Renesmee's gift from Charlie. That was just a lot of fun to write and envision in my head. My favorite emotional moment is a tie between Bella fiddling with Edward's wedding ring and the feelings that it awakens in him, and the scene where they are in their bedroom discussing the trip to Brazil. It may seem inconsequential, but I love that moment because in spite of everything going on around them, they still turn to one another in love and find strength in each other.

Reviewer: Cheyenne (Signed) · Date: April 05, 2009 04:49 AM · On: Travel Plans

Excellent chapter well done, can't wait for more.

As for your favourite i really don't know, but i really loved the little bit of just Bella, Edward and Nessie having some alone time with Ness covering them  in flowers. In the real BD there was very little parenting time and that part was really sweet.

Oh and i also liked the stuffed wolf lol.

Author's Response:

Thank you!

I agree with you about the lack of parent/child interaction between Edward, Bella, and Renesmee – which is why I came up with the flower scene. It struck me as something very carefree and idyllic, and I wanted to put a little 'fluff' in the chapter.

Renesmee's gift is my favorite funny moment. My most favorite scene is with Bella and Edward in their bedroom, discussing the planned trip to Brazil, because they use that time to find strength and comfort in each other despite the circumstances surrounding their daughter's future.

Reviewer: edbellafan (Signed) · Date: April 05, 2009 03:39 AM · On: Travel Plans

Sigh.....love it, love it, love it....need more...please.... :)

I was delighted to find that a new chapter added....you do such an amazing job of capturing Edward and Bella's intense love of one another.  My favorite part was when Bella was fiddling with his wedding ring...and the overwhelming emotions that evoked in Edward.  Sigh....I'm fairly certain I will NEVER grow tired of Edward and Bella! :)

Great job on filling in some of the missing moments of that 3 month time period.  When I read BD...I thought that seemed like a longggg time for the readers to not know what was going on.  Keep up the GREAT work!  Your story is one of my top two that I anxiously await updates on! :)

Author's Response:

Thank you so much!

The bit with the wedding ring is very sweet in my opinion, as well. It comes in a close second to my favorite B/E moment, which happened when they were talking about the trip to Brazil in their bedroom. It may seem a bit mundane, but I love it because it demonstrates that even though they have so much anxiety about Renesmee, they can still turn to one another in love and find comfort, strength, and a celebration of their devotion to each other.

As for an update, one should be coming very soon. :)

Reviewer: dancing_in_my_underwear (Signed) · Date: April 04, 2009 07:04 PM · On: Travel Plans

This chapter was very good. Brilliant job of doing the 3 months that were kind of bare in the book. It's difficult to decide which is my favourite bit because they are all very good but I think the best bit was when Nessie walked in with the stuffed wolf. I was picturing everyones expressions in my head and I was lmao. I just wish Rosalie had been there when it happened. Her thoughts would have been HILARIOUS!! :)

Author's Response:

Thank you!

Renesmee's gift is my favorite funny moment in this chapter. And you're right – Rose's reaction would be highly entertaining to witness.

But my most favorite moment is between Bella and Edward when they're talking about the trip to Brazil. I love it because it shows that even though there is so much uncertainty surrounding Renesmee, they can still turn to one another for comfort and strength and can just celebrate their love freely.

I absolutely love everything in this chapter, but if you want me to be more specific then I would have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed the part when Bella was reciting the Tennyson poem to Nessie and when she was determined to go to Italy to see the Volturi alone (the conversation B had with E) These two moments really describes B&E's relationship and what Bella truly means to Edward. Oh ... the plush wolf toy that Nessie got was priceless ... okay, make that three moments that I loved in this chapter ... hee hee.

Btw, your version of BD in my opinion is way, way better than the original!

Author's Response:

I'm glad you liked the Tennyson poem! I had looked up his work to see the entire poem that Renesmee begins to read, and was just digging around when I read "Now Sleeps The Crimson Petal". Like I said in the Author's Note, the line about a 'silent meteor' hit me like a ton of bricks, and I had to use it in this chapter.

It was fun, too, to fill in the blanks in regard to Edward and Bella's discussion about Italy. He is very intense about her safety, even though she's now a vampire, and I wanted to capture that kind of explosive emotion.

My favorite funny moment is when Renesmee shows off her stuffed wolf; the best line in my opinion is Bella's: "It is pretty...cute."

The most poignant scene for me is between Bella and Edward when they're in their bedroom talking about the trip to Brazil. It seems almost mundane, but I love it because it shows that even though there is so much uncertainty surrounding Renesmee's future, they can turn to one another for comfort and strength and find freedom in celebrating their love.

And thank you very much for your compliments!

I just knew he would take her back to the meadow eventually. It's a very special place for them both and even I would have a hard time not going back, to reminisce and to rekindle things.  You wrote this perfectly and I applaud you wholeheartedly for it!

"He will not make it easy on me, I know – but now that I have this hope, this knowledge that I can redeem myself in the eyes of at least one person who perceives me as something other than human – perhaps I can one day look at my reflection and see the man that Bella loves and not just the monster."

I felt exactly this way as the reaction for Edward in this situation. Through Renesmee, Edward feels like he achieves this goal of a loving being and not a monster. That perhaps there is hope for him after all. Beautiful, hon. Just beautiful.

Author's Response:

The added 'meadow moment' is one of my favorites that I've written thus far, and I'm so glad that my readers love it, too.

Edward's sort of epiphany in regard to Charlie's opinion of him was a treat to write. And you totally caught what I was hoping to convey through that passage – that Edward is not limited to what he is but who he is to Bella and Renesmee, and who he can become in the future. Hope is kind of a recurring theme throughout later chapters of this story, so it's neat to me that you picked up on it in this chapter. Just hold that thought – it comes into play later on!

And thank you so much! :)

I'm beginning to think you ARE Stephanie Meyer! LOL!!  This just keeps getting better and better.  I read the Midnight Sun 12 chapters on SM's website and you are spot on with capturing the beautiful mind that is Edward in the same way that she has done for us there.  I simply cannot wait to read more.

Author's Response:

No, I am not Stephenie... Maybe I'm just channeling her through writing this story; we do share the same first name, after all. :P

"Midnight Sun", along with a few other extremely well written fan fics from Edward's point of view helped inspire me to write "Metamorphosis", and all I really wanted to accomplish was a more in-depth view of the story as seen through his eyes.

It is so incredible and amazing to me that this story has received such a positive response. Thank you very much!

I should have another chapter up in the next few days.

Reviewer: Mizra (Signed) · Date: March 31, 2009 12:41 PM · On: First Hunt

Ma'am, I cannot begin to say how wonderful your interpretation is. My try at this pales in comparison, that's for sure. You write so well, so descriptively. And, sare I say, much better than even Stephenie herself would have written this. You add things I was curious about and you remind us the whole newness again of this moment in the story.

Besides, your writing sends me into fits of giggles every time I read Alice talking about Bella's wardrobe. I can only imagine how the cottage scene will take.

"They're the only pair that matches the dress, and they're from Chanel, Edward! Do you know how many women would kill to have these shoes?"

Perfect Alice inner dialogue with Edward! Thank you for doing this and I am going to stop here and go on to the next chapter. :)

Author's Response:

Thank you very much!

I've read your story, "Consummation", and thought it was very good. (I should have left a review, I know – but I will!)

A lot of the things I added were moments I was also curious about, or that I thought could have happened during the course of the story.

And Alice... ah, how I love Alice. She is so much fun to write. There are quite a few little moments for her throughout later chapters; I hope you enjoy those as much as these earlier chapters.

this is increadible. really i mean it

you get not only ed, but all the characters SM has created

in fact in some ways i think you might have a better grasp on edward than stephanie

thank you for writing and keep it up

Author's Response:

Thank you so much!

I love all of these wonderful characters that Stephenie created, but I wouldn't profess to known more about Edward than her. She just dreamed up a complex, beautiful character that I love – and I enjoy sort of 'climbing inside his head' and writing this story through his eyes.

It makes my day when I see a new chapter...thank you for the pretty  turnaround of updates.  I can't wait to read the next one, and escpecially Edward's view of Alice's vision and exile.

Author's Response:

Thank you!

I'm smiling right now, because the meadow scene made you sigh – just as it did with me while I was writing it. I love that little romantic moment tucked at the end of the chapter; it seemed to me a perfect way to wrap up the chapter.
