I am crying now... The ending of this chapter was so beautiful.
Thanks so much for letting us into Edward (and everybody else's) thoughts! Your writing style is so amazing and, as I keep saying, You have made me appricate Breaking Dawn more than I ever did.

Bravo! You did such a great job at both infusing everyone else's thoughts into Edward's head as well as incorporating Edward's own thoughts and reactions to things. I was especially amused to see Edward's lust and jealousy making an appearance in the midst of an imminent attack! Really though, you can't help what you think! I'm sorry to see that this story is almost done, I got so much enjoyment from it, but I am really looking forward to the last chapter.

Edward is such a volatile person, even though he has so much control, and I think that in the midst of attempting to master the situation he's bound to slip up - at least mentally. Especially in regard to Bella.
I'm kind of bummed that this story is drawing to a close, too, but I'm also glad. I set myself the goal that I would finish "Metamorphosis" come hell or high water, and now the last chapter is looming on the horizon. And I will do my very best to make it a worthy finale.

First, AWESOME! Man oh man did you ever make my Saturday morning. The anticipation had me checking every day and you smacked yet another grandslam homerun. You nail these characters perfectly, which brings them to life - and my only complaint would be that you only have one more chapter left before Breaking Dawn comes to an end. :-(
I loved the impact of Alice, and how emotional her reunion was. Let's face it, Bella was too busy concentrating whereas she couldn't really pay much attention to Alice - so through Bella's POV you didn't get the impact her character deserves. I also loved the impact Jasper's presence made on the Volturi - for I could see him being very intimidating.

And yes, I know the end is near. But I promise I'll do my best to make it a worthy finale.
Plus, as I've already hinted at in the past, my muse is constantly bugging me with new stories to write - "Eclipse" from Edward's point of view being the first on the list, followed closely by Book One of "Breaking Dawn". So, we'll see.
I definitely wanted Alice and Jasper's return to have more 'punch' in this chapter than it did in the original, and I'm glad that you think the impact of their arrival was at the right level. I was very excited to have them back in the story.

Wow, that is such a huge undertaking. And you've done a great job at this story. The writing is really good and it sounds a lot like Edward. I feel like I'm reading the "real" thing.
My only criticism of this section is that, when Edward is behind Bella's shield, he can't read the thoughts of those on the other side. At least that was my understanding. Though it was nice to have that aspect in the battle, I don't see it being realistic. Now, in ht ebook he does talk afterwards about it being Bella that scared them away, but I don't think he'd have direct thoughts to back that up.
Sorry for being negative. I do love your story. The chapters are really long and your writing is very sophisticated. Well done. Can't wait for more.

The way Bella's shield works has been a source of debate in previous chapters. In the original text (pg. 623 of Chapter 32 "Company"), Edward gives a very brief explanation of what he is witnessing while behind Bella's shield with Renesmee as Zafrina blinds the others who are with them in the backyard. He says, "Fascinating! It's like one-way glass. I can read everything they're thinking, but they can't reach me behind it. And I can hear Renesmee, though I couldn't when I was on the outside."
Based on that, it's my understanding that when Edward is *outside* Bella's shield, he can't read anyone's mind inside it - but when he's *inside* the shield, he can still hear the thoughts of those not protected by it.
I hope that makes sense.

I'm speechless. Truly I am. I have wished for so long that Stephenie would write this series from Edward's POV like she started to, but you have just done so without her just as well as she could have.
To hear what was in everyone's mind, to see what Edward could see reflected back at him, even to witness a brief moment of desire from him when he saw the power in the avenging angel he had married - it was astonishing.

This is the chapter I've been waiting for. This is the BEST. I've got goosebumps! Really!
Please do not apologize for the delay in updates. Nothing worth having is not worth waiting for. And this is SO worth having! I have so wanted to know what was in Edward's mind when he found out just what Bella was doing. You captured it all perfectly.
And of course I had to to smile when it turned him on, a few minutes later. *grin* Perfect touch.
Outstanding moments! Aro's mind and EMMETT's mind and all those thoughts that we were not privy to, exquisitely rendered. Thank you so much.

I have to admit, I'm tickled that this chapter gave you goosebumps. :)
I wondered after the fact if Edward's sudden desire for Bella because of her power was a little over the top, but then I decided that it just...fit. And it was too much fun to not include in the chapter.
Aro still scares me, now more than ever, and I think I've been more entertained with Emmett's thoughts than any other. He is a riot.

Yes, I can understand how it would have been gratifying to see the Volturi get the beat-down by the Cullens, but I think the stalemate has a certain elegance - and as you pointed out, it also leaves an opening for perhaps more books. And also plenty of fan fics. :)

I was feeding my month old infant and 4:15am...I finished with the feeding, burping, and changing around 5:00am....but I was to captivated by the chapter to go back to sleep. SO now it is 5:30am on Saturday morning....(thank God) and I am finally going to try to drift off back to sleep!!!!!

This was an incredible chapter - the level of detail of your descriptions and the sheer vast amount of actions/thoughts that Edward considers and focuses on is amazing - and you totally rocked this chapter! I know that my descriptions can get a little carried away... but as much as I have tried to whittle them down, the imagery just won't leave me alone. I want to paint pictures with my words.
And I figured it was about time Edward finally acknowledges what he's been pondering over the course of this story, and what Bella has known all along: he does have a soul, obviously.

I'm so glad that this chapter met your expectations. And I really enjoyed putting that reminder of Edward's epiphany in the chapter. I have always believed that he has a soul, because how can a being who is soulless experience love? I feel that, throughout this story, he has had to come to the realization that *what* he is does not define *who* he is. No one is beyond redemption.
So, that's my philosophical thought for the day. ;)

(How could some people dislike Breaking Dawn? The book, and its end particularly, the glorious stalemate that is a chekmate, was so much better than any bloodbath. And reliving it in Edward's PoV is great).

Really, I cannot express how long I agonized over writing this chapter. Aside from the lack of solid moments in which to write, I was battling all the character's voices in my head clamoring to be heard, while still trying to hear the most important one as best I could. I am incredibly relieved and glad that this chapter has been received so well.
And I agree with you disbelief over those who do not appreciate the symmetry of BD's stalemate between the Cullens and the Volturi. I think it's quite interesting, to say the least, and there was already a big brawl at the end of "Eclipse".
But I figure, since the Volturi are around for a while longer, it gives all of us the chance to dream up more stories. :D
