Another great one, I haven't read a one shot where they have Jasper apologise to Bella before, and I really liked this - as usual.
You've captured both of their emotions perfectly again, you have a knack for keeping so close to their real character.. and I love that about your writing.
I love how you added in about the chess game!! Love it!

What a great missing moment! Well done!
This really needed to be explained in the series, cos it was actually something I thought was a plot hole, and bothered me - Jasper loosing it over one drop of blood (his brothers girlfriend no less), but going to school every day when people hurt themselves all the time, but you cover the reason expertly, and very believably.
Thanks so much, I like Jasper infanitly more now! I did feel Bella talked a little more than her charachter usually does, but overall a fantastic little insight to their world. :)

welldone. Nicely written and portrayed. I'd like to think that this did actually happen somewhere as it is definately missing from the original story. Bella is perhaps a little too enthusiastic, but i like the concept of Jasper absorbing the emotions on Bella's birthday to explain why he did what he did. Good job.

first i didnt know what to think about this story but then it was nice to see his apology because he did feel really bad in the book but anyway my favorite part in this chapter is when he realizes that his behavior that day could have been influenced by the 6 ravenous vampires that were staring at bella when she cut her finger. i never thought about that, how he could have been affected by them. im glad you brought that up because it made me more sympathetic to jaspers character and now my opinion of him has improved. not that i disliked him before but having a different understanding of why things happened that way makes me like him more. thank you for that insight.
Author's Response: Oh, yay! I'm very glad I could give you a new understanding of Jasper and maybe even make you a Jasper fan. I wrote this story because I was hoping to share my view of what happened that day. It makes me very happy to hear that my theory has convinced others.

Great story. This is the first Twilight fan-fic that I've read, and I really enjoyed it. I love these kind of Missing Moments-type of fics where we see a glimpse into something that could have actually occurred in the books. Thanks for writing it and sharing it with us.

Great little insight into Jasper's head. I had never really thought about Jasper absorbing everyone else's emotions like that. I guess it makes sense. Liked the story!
Author's Response: Thank you. I'm glad I was able to give you some insight into Jasper's head. I'm 100% that he absorbs emotions like that. The part that I considered a bit more of my idea was that their hunger affects him too, or at a minimum--the fact that the nervousness, anxiety, aggression that they all felt when Bella cut her finger affected him. I'm just positive that's why Jasper reacted the way he did. Poor Jazz. I'm not even sure that he realizes that's why, but I'm sure it is. Thanks for your comment.

The ending really put a smile on my face. I probably look very stupid now sitting with a grin on my face.
But, that being said; I didn't just like the end. I love stories that feature Jasper and the insident with Bella's birhtday and Jasper's involvement fascinated me from the start. I loved to see this take on how it could have been resolved in the end.
I loved the angst and his thoughts. Also the silent communication he had with Edward was a nice touch. Basically I all over liked it.

Every time I read your work I'm amazed at the amount of emotion you put forward. And since Jasper's an empath it's a hard task to take on.
I absolutely love how you capture Jasper's thought process, his humility and how his every decision rides on a balance between making Alice happy/proud and "living" up to his family's expectations.
You honestly (in my humble opinion) are one of the better writers on this site. I even have told others about your fics; I just love them all.
Are your writing on other sites as well?
