I loved how you used the van incedent in this, I was wondering as I was reading if you would... I mean the possibility that things happen for a reason. Bella's fate could have been that her time was up when she met Edward and so therefore every corner she turned, a disaster was waiting for her...
The fact that Edward wasn't there wouldn't have made her pause, so she kept moving... And incedentally she was not left for dead, just a coma. Brilliant! You're a genius! :)

Awesome chapter, love that cliff hanger!! :) I wonder why he wasn't at lunch.
Just something you might want to know, while it's not in canon, Stephenie Meyer posted on her site an outtake which had Mrs Stanley as a teller at a bank. :) But like I said, it's not canon. :)

This just keeps getting better and better! Love your take on these characters. Shocking that Jake hurts Bella; I think most E/B lovers will appreciate the intensity of that twist. You are gifted!

It's brilliant that Bella opened up and was fearless and strong with Edward in the forest because Edward needed her and needed to hear what she had to say -- for his sake. I’d told myself I could be strong for us both, that I could believe in him so he could believe in us. I just love this!! The breakup was so intense and emotional and perfect. I think that Bella's words were the best break up explanation I've ever heard. Love your Alice too! Please keep it coming!

Thank you for honoring these characters with such intelligence and grace (even Bella in her own right). Your writing is so beautifully done.
And thank you for carefully capturing the fleeting moments inside their emotions, the ones that might otherwise be undefined. You've expounded upon this cast so wonderfully:
Time passed before me like a movie, never including me in the action except for short spurts where some random event would drag me into making a cameo appearance in my own life. Those moments were few and far between, but when they stirred me from my waking death, try as I might, I couldn’t forget them.
I've read your teaser for Chapter 36. To say that I'm eager is a gross understatement. Yet I will be patient--it is well worth that price.

Oh my god, the beginning was agonizingly tense, and I love the way it ended up with Bella confessing but Edward still in doubt. You do need to get over your insecurity because this stuff is awesome! She broke off as involuntary tears crept down my cheek. That moment of revelation was heartwrenching! This scene with Alice was so tender and tentative. Alice is trying so hard to just let things happen, but I love the dialogue here and her attempt at opening Bella's eyes. She revealed just enough information. Leah's raw emotion is appropriate considering the struggle and confusion she had gone though before finding out the truth. Excellent, excellent, excellent!!

That evidence was vivid and impossible to ignore, screaming to Jacob in a vibrant shade of orange that something else had captured my attention and to me in muddled hues of black and blue that violence had somehow become part of his life. Wow. Really poetic! What a great job with the underlying tension and unspoken emotions going on here between Jacob/Bella. The Leah/Emily/Sam stuff was unbelievable! The moment he took Emily's hand -- amazing! I loved that you are developing this part of the story further. Can't wait!

Interesting slant that Bella starts off with Jacob in this story; I'm really enjoying it! It's slow development is a positive thing IMHO because it gives a chance to see how you are defining the details of these characters. Hope Jacob isn't crushed, but we all know you can't fight E/B love!

i really liked this chapter. it showed the clear difference btwn Edward and Jake. As a senior myself i can truly relate to every concern Bella has towards the future. that fear of taking a risk or making decisions for others oppose to for myself. Now its making me wonder whats best for MY future...

Well, I'm sorry to have reached the end of the posted chapters, but so happy to see that you have a lot more planned for us. This really is the best story and this chapter has been my very favorite of them all. Not only have you given me a very satisfying stopping point, but I've enjoyed your very wonderful writing style so much.
You have a such a wonderful way with words and you really are the Queen of Similies. Nobody but you would say Bella's smile was like "the lovechild of the Joker and the Cheshire Cat" or Edward's kiss was like an "electrocution, hypnosis, and sugar shock all at once." I am truly entertained and captivated by what you write. Thank you!!

You said there are two factions of of readers: "those who think Edward is an ass who needs to suffer and those who think Bella is too self-righteous and needs to get over herself." I think I fall somewhere in the mellow middle as someone who loves Edward and thinks he needed a little punishment to get his head on straight and also loves Bella and can mostly understand why she feels the way she does. So... my reaction after this chapter was WOOO HOOOO!!! Seriously, I think you're doing a brilliant job with this story.

I hope Bella continues to confide in Alice and allow their friendship to develop with suspicion. Alice really is a great character in this story. I still get a real kick out of the cleverness of Bella's thoughts (OK, your thoughts - brilliantly written) and am just about done watching Edward be a tortured obsessive stalking vampire without some forgiveness from Bella. Afterall, she really does care for him. So she just got a letter from Jacob? (Groan.......)

God Lord - Bella is ANNOYING....
I see why people were saying she was self-righteous.....she is...
In the last chapter, she appeared to be reconciling that fact, that she herself is a big-fat liar as well......
Yet, here she is again, crucifying Edward for his lies.....And, she still is rude to Alice, well she's rude to everybody......a very miserable person....
I fail to see Edward's attraction toward her....I totally understand her being upset that he lied to her, but she is acting ridiculous now. She seems very unappreciative of anything anyone does for her. She has a smart-mouthed comment for everything...
