This is the only story I've come across so far where Bella menstruating, and Edward's reaction to it, was mentioned. Well done, I enjoyed it, even if it was slightly squicky.
Author's Response: Thanks so much, and I'm glad it wasn't too 'squicky' to take away from your enjoyment, lol! :)

i loved it!!!!!! though i would have liked to see the conversation the next day...
Author's Response: Thanks!!!! And you just might be in luck . . . The idea's been brewing in my head to write a one-shot sequel, Bella POV, that takes place the next day. I've had some questions concerning what was going on in Bella's head, and how the conversation would go the next day, so the idea of writing it is very tempting. :)

Whew...and I love fics that show Edward have ....um...'human' desires. Great short story!
Author's Response: Lol, thank you very much! :)

Um, this was Hot. Great job!
Author's Response: 'Hot' is definitely what I was going for! :) Thanks!

I have always wondered how Edward reacted to Bella's period! They NEVER write about those things in books! But cmon...it had to be difficult for him. I am so glad you had the guts to explore that idea. You did a great job; I loved the story.
Author's Response: I definitely think it would've been an issue worth addressing if SM had been writing for an older target audience, but since the books are considered 'teen' or 'young adult' it's understandable that it wasn't addressed. However, I suppose that's the good thing about fanfiction, lol. We can elaborate on the more 'adult' topics skimmed over in the books!
Thanks for reading and reviewing! :)

Oh no, this is only a one-shot? Well, I suppose there isn't a whole lot more you could do except a few different versions on this chapter and a repeat of Twilight while still keeping it canon. I'm glad they didn't go all the way, it definitely added to the story.
Still, I really liked this. I haven't read one where Bella's period was addressed, and when it got into it I wasn't initially sure if I liked it or not. But I kept reading anyway and I'm glad I did because it was very good. As I read, it seemed so natural for him to desire so much more, and to not be able to resist it. I don't know how SMeyer's Edwards did it.
I think it is a very strong portrayal of Edward's desire, and his guilt at having to leave Bella in such a hurry. I felt pretty sorry for her there too. And I also loved the details about Rosalie and Emmett really funny, I always enjoy little quips about their sex life and how Edward feels about it. Then his guilt about what Alice might see him doing added to that, but in a way that wasn't so much humorous, but realistic.
Author's Response: Thank you very much for reading and taking the time to write a review! I'm very glad that you kept reading even though you weren't sure you were going to like it or not. I mean, I realize that this isn't everyone's thing, and so I'm appreciative that you gave it a chance, and that you enjoyed it. :)
Honestly, it's not like I normally write about guys going down on their girlfriends while they're on their periods, but, well, Edward *is* a vampire, so I really felt like this issue should be addressed. And I'm glad that I did write it, seeing as how other people have wondered how Edward coped.
Once again, thanks so much! :)

Woohoo! A period fic! Very very hott! Loved it!
I wrote a fic on a similar topic, except in mine, it's Bella's suggestion. It's called, "Bella's Naughty Idea." I think yours is better though
Author's Response: Wells, thanks so much! I might have to check your fic out. :) Although, in all honesty, I think Bella would be way too embarassed to ever suggest it to Edward, even if she might've secretly thought about it. Thanks for reading!

I loved your perspective on how Edward's "human" needs got the better of him. It's about time he had a bit of release. LOL. Fantastic writing!
Author's Response: Lol, thanks so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it! :)

I really enjoyed this on a lot of levels. I have read one or two addressing the menstration effect on Edward, but this is much better.
I enjoyed that he lost control but didn't LOSE control completely, you described the internal struggle wonderfully. I did feel bad for B that he bolted after going down on her...bc it was her first time, although it was pleasurable, I would imagine that she would be somewhat embaressed about the whole thing and his leaving so quickly (but we won't know since this was a one shot! LOL). I was GLAD that E took care of his own needs when he got home (OMG he so needed THAT during the books LOL), and his arousal at thinking that bella masturbated as well (hey that is a normal healthy thing for all creatures! So well done YOU!).
I, like a lot of the female population that read the books, wondered about E during that time of the month. He had to be aware of it...yet SM never addressed it, that those 5 days a month would have been, understandilby more difficult for him. And it was nice that you addressed it in the beginning - that he knew when she menstruated, and he knew that she had obviously gotten her period since he saw her at school.
My point - nice details. Not offensive in the least (when I read your warning I thought he was going to eat her...um LITERALLY...bc you seemed so worried about people's reactions. SO I was greatly relieved that she had not become a snack food! LOL
Author's Response: Wow. Okay, first of all, I'd like to start out by saying that I read your profile page, and I'm very, very flattered that someone with a PH.D. would have so many wonderful things to say about my writing, considering that I'm just a stay-at-home mom with a handful of college credits that don't add up to squat, lol. (By the way, I'm very interested in reading your own work, and will do so the next chance I get.)
Thank you so much for reading and taking the time to leave such a detailed review. I know that when I read other people's work I like to be as specific as possible about what I did and/or didn't like about their work, and so I appreciate it when others do the same for me.
I agree about Edward needing some relief during the books, lol. :) Especially after the parts when Bella would practically throw herself at him! I mean, I've known a lot of guys, and I've never met anyone with the kind of control he has. (It must be tough being a hundred-year-old-virgin.)
Anyway, about the warning I gave - When I wrote this, I honestly didn't know if people would like it, or if they'd be like, "Wow, what a perverted weirdo!" Looking at all the positive feedback I've received, however, I realize that my warning probably seemed a bit dramatic. Still, this isn't everyone's thing, and I wanted them to be aware.
Once again, thanks so much, and I look forward to reading your work!

I wondered when someone would brooch the human moment of the menstrual cycle with this unconventional couple. kudos to you for being brave. I am glad they didn't go 'all the way,' too!!j
Author's Response: Well good - I'm really glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for taking the time to let me know what you thought. :)

A sexy approach to a question we've all wondered about. Nice.

Ahhhh yes....Memnoch the Devil...the scene with Dora and Lestat. Unforgettable.
I'm really impressed by your "bravery" in addressing the mestruation button (no pun intended...ok well small one) I think you did it in a very tasteful, honest matter. Woman have periods..it's a fact. We smell differently when we have them. Again..another fact. I find nothing "shocking" or gross in this story..just honest and truthful to the realities of our bodies, and what would happen if we had a vampire for a boyfriend. :)
Bravo. I really enjoyed this one shot.
The only thing I would change..and this is a small, inconsequential thing. It would flow better...(omg I'm sorry, I really don't mean to slip so many double entendres in here) considering Edward's character, if you removed the word "clit" and used "clitoris" as I just can't picture our darling Edward using the word "clit".
But oh...how I love to read about him using the F-bomb. ha ha!
Author's Response: Wow, thanks so much for reading and taking the time to write such a detailed review! I was a bit shocked when I checked my account and saw that I had so many reviews 'cause I posted this story on a few other sites, and apparently people on other sites don't like to review, lol.
Althought it's flattering that you consider it 'bravery' that I should address this issue, to me I simply couldn't not address the issue, even if people thought I was some kinda weird pervert. :) The entire time I was reading the series, I couldn't help wonder how Edward could stand to be around Bella while she was menstruating. And of course it wasn't addressed in the books because of Stephenie Meyer's younger target audience. Still, that's what ultimately compelled me to write this.
And yes, I suppose Lestat might have influenced it a bit, because although I haven't read Memnoch in about seven years, I could never get that scene out of my head completely, lol.
Oh yeah, concerning Edward's use of the word clit - I actually made a pretty good attempt to avoid using words that he probably wouldn't use, but I guess the word 'clit' slipped through the cracks. I don't think I'm going to change it, however. We can always assume that Edward inadvertently picked up from Emmett some of the more . . . interesting words used to describe certain body parts. ;-)
