whoa - intense chapter with more to come... I don't think I caught the clue, or rather, my silly brain hasn't made the connections yet. Information tends to percolate a long time in my head before it 'goes' anywhere for some annoying as hell reason. But I still enjoy the revelations down the track.
It's frustrating that the men get into a pseudo-pissing contest, leaving the women out of range of their 'protection' given that they ALL know there's a murderer-rapist (possibly two) targetting them specifically. Oh, and all three of those guys go on about protecting what's 'theirs' and then fail at such an obvious time. It works as a plot device, I guess, and unfortunately I've seen it play out similarly in real life far too many times... protecting our loved ones is always this annoying multi-angle complex thing if you're trying to do it properly i.e. without blocking out the sun :S
Author's Response: Thank you very much. Yes it is sometimes too much to ask for guys to stop trying to mark their property. But at least Edward watched Bella walk toward Alice for a few moments. As for the clue only a handful of people knew that they were meeting at the pier in pismo. Edward, Bella, Alice, Jacob and Jasper...oh and Jacob's handlers.

Great chapter. I loved the whole hotel scene. Lol naked twister. Loved this bit:

"I’m not going anywhere,” she whispered her hands running through my sweaty locks of hair.
“I can’t…lose you,” I gasped desperation and fear in my voice.
“You won’t,” she said soothingly.
I wasn’t sure how long we laid there in each other’s arms. She’d whisper words of devotion and love. She sang softly a few verses of some of her favorite cheesy love songs. She whispered passages from poems.
She comforted me.

I liked the confrontation. Glad everyone knows what's going on now. I'm glad Alice showed up too. Wanted to punch Jasper several times in this chapter.
Hope they figure out a way to save Bella without James hurting her.
Can't wait to read more. Love this story. Please update soon.

You are creating quite a story! So well organized and put together for us readers. Love how everything is interconnected.
Bella and Edward are getting stronger and are definitely taking care of each other! The cliff hanger with James at the end was...yikes!
As far as the clue...Bella said she wasn't feeling good...could she be pregnant with Edward's baby. I would love for that to happen!

I guess its a good thing I am not a dective cause I suck at find the puzzle pieces. But I thought this chapter was really good. Poor Jasper having to deal with two women he really cares about. And then James...wow. Well I know its gonna get good next chapter. I can't wait!
