And it begins....

I loved reading about them trying to figure out the camera. Damn, I feel really old fashioned now, cause loading film into the camera is considered old fashioned....im only 30ish! Is that really considered old?

Author's Response:

Yup, and it begins...

Quite a job just getting the camera loaded, wasn't it?  We've come a long way, baby!  I love my PHD camera.  Push HERE, dummy!

No, 30ish is definately not considered old!  (Because if it is, I've got one foot in the grave!)

Thanks for reviewing!

I was close to tears when I saw this was the same chapter as the last time xD Pretty Please with sugar on top update with the new chapter?

Author's Response:

I checked with my beta, it was a glich in the system that marked my story as having been updated when it hadn't been.  She's intends to validate 16 tonight, and I've got 17 ready to go in the validation queue right behind it.

Sorry about that, thanks for letting me know!

Oh, poor Edward... well it's probably good he has some spank fodder, seeing as how he won't be gettin' any for about 100 years!

Author's Response:

Oh, I think a mind reader would be bombarded with spank fodder on a nearly consistent basis, don't you?

There's been a glich that updated my story without it being updated for real.  Chapter 16 is still in the validation queue and will hopefully be updated very soon.

Thanks for revieiwng!

Excellent chapter!

Author's Response:

I'm so glad you liked it!  Chapter 16 is in the validation queue.  This chapter was actually posted a week ago.  I have no idea why it's showing an update date of yesterday since the next chapter is still in the queue.  I e-mailed my beta to let her know something's gone awry.

Reviewer: Monkeylove (Signed) · Date: July 09, 2012 04:05 AM · On: Chapter 15

Um I think this is a duplicate of the last chapter??? kinda bummed too because I am sick and was looking forward to reading the next chapter.. please can we have the new one :)

Author's Response:

I'm sorry.  I don't know what happened.  Chapter 16 was sent to the validation queue last week, and it's still there.  I never got an e-mail saying the next chapter had been updated.  I don't know why it's showing an update date of yesterday since the next chapter is still in the queue.  I e-mailed my beta to let her know something's gone haywire.  Hopefully 16 will be up soon.  Sorry about that.  Thanks for letting me know.

Yes, I've been waiting for the flu to hit, and I guess it's happening now. And things were really strained at the rez, but I hope Bella will somehow get to look up that website once she remembers it. And I suspected Edward's reaction to the pictures of Bella in modern-day clothes would make him react somewhat like that. I really do enjoy this story.

Author's Response:

I'm glad you like it!  Thanks for reviewing!

You know, I really try hard not to incorporate my thoughts on where a story line is going into reviews.  I understand that a lot of stories are WIP's and I would hate to steer (inadvertantly) an authors creativity in a direction that it otherwise wouldn't have gone.  However, I know you have finished this peice and it's clear you get off on feedback because you spend more time writing back to reviews than I have on Christmas cards for the last 10 years.  (Don't worry, this is a good thing.  Everybody loves reading back from you and I never was very social anyway)  So, here I go:

I personally loved Sue and Charlie, but you have me thinking I might love Tanya and Charlie better.  100 years, give or take, is a long time to go without confiding in anyone.  You have already shown that Edward can't keep a secret worth a damn.  Especially when he has proof in the form of all these letters and pictures, one of which convienently shows her with a very attractive, mature but not old, individual...  These people are sure to insprire curiosity in whoever sees these pictures, because the girls fate to a certain extent is sealed.  She will write these letters and gain a relationship at some level.  Maybe, somehow, it lessens the taboo against getting to know the older guy in the pic, too.  He's going to be involved at some level as well, right?

I'm looking foreward to seeing if I'm right about that.  Mostly though, I'm just looking foreward to the next chapter.

Author's Response:

So sorry for the delay in responding to your review.

I do definately get off on feed back from my readers!  I get so psyched when I see new reviews I could just squeal!  Even though the story is finished, it is still being betad and edited, and I do take reviewers comments into consideration when editing, if something wasn't explained clearly enough or something like that, but the plot line and course are pretty much set in stone.

Personally, I never really cared much for Charlie and Sue.  Something about hooking up with your friend's widow a year or so after his death is a bit of a squick for me.  Like your friends' ex's.  They're hands off.  After a longer period of time, OK, but after a year?  I think tongues woud start wagging.  "Just exactly when did they start seeing each other?  Before Harry died?"  Something like that.  But, that's just me.  I love Charlie, though, and I wanted him to be a bigger part of my story than I felt he was in canon.  I also liked Tanya.  Even though Edward turned her down over and over, she was still supportive of him in both Midnight Sun and Breaking Dawn.  Yeah, not in Eclipse, but he was aligned with people who killed her sister's mate, granted they were justified, and her mate was about to kill Edward's mate....  Not an envious position to be in.

I think it's one thing to keep a dangerous secret for almost 100 years when you've got no one to tell that secret to, and another to keep something huge and that makes you very happy from people you love and trust.  When you fall in love, you want to tell the people who are the most important to you, even if you don't realize you're in love.

The next chapter is in the validation queue, and teasers are on the Forums page under Shameless Plugs.  Thanks for reviewing!

Wow, your wolves have a hard time keeping their temper in check. Will Bella research their legends or rather the Spanish flu?

Bella and Edward are thinking alike, again, longing for and worrying about the other, they're getting so attached. Lvve how Edward is completely blown away by the photos.

Bella seems to have realized that she could fit in well in Forks, when she flies "home to Edward" she wants to go back to the desk - her connection to Edward, not her mom.

Author's Response:

The wolves are having a hard time time keeping their temper in check, but they have a reason.  Those "missing" campers had help going missing, if you catch my drift.

Between the flu or the legends, there's no comparison.  The legends are as good as forgotten.

You've got it exactly.  It wasn't her mom Bella was thinking about when she said going home.

Thanks for reviewing!

Bella is finally clued in about the flu of 1918.  I was suprised when she didn't notice it when doing her research on WWI.  Great chapter with foreshadowing of the wolves.

Author's Response:

Yup, the cat's out of the bag now.  Things start to move quicker now, Edward's days with a heartbeat are very limited.

Thanks for revieiwng!

I have to admit, one of the first things I'd have done as Edward is ask Bella to look up my life and see if anything was listed. It's too tempting to be able to know how much time I'd have left. Of course in his case it would be incorrect, but still! The allure of it! Ay.

Author's Response:

I don't think Edward would have any idea that Bella could find information on his life on a computer.  The idea of a computer is just so Jules Vern to him, I would think, that it wouldn't occur to him that she could find anything about him on it.  It's just to far fetched.  At least to my mind.  His father's case is a little different, that was in the papers.  An archive of newpaper reports is a little more fathomable, I think.  Besides, up until now, both Edward and Bella have already thought they did know what would happen to him.  She met who the both believed to be his grandson, so he obviously, to them, gets married and has a family, and he already knows what he wants to be, a doctor.

I think its tempting to find out how much time you've got left until you're actually presented with the possibilty of finding out, then I'm not so sure.  I know I wouldn't want to know, I guess that's why I made my Edward not try to find out.

Thanks for reviewing!

♥ ♥ ♥ !!!

might as well be a telepath cause all your footnote explanations were kind of confirmation more than the former :) the reversed sense of self preservation in relation to the Cullen / Wolfpack issue and Edward being a leg man, like your reviewer said!

I like how it is very subtle your change from canon to AU, with the pack (and therefore the imprinting) happening much sooner in your timeline, the fact that (i think you mentioned) Jake keeps his hair long, which made me doubt at the beginning if he had phased yet. Also the fact that Bella goes to Forks before she was supposed to in canon, and how Tanya and Charlie are a couple here! :) It always fell to me that a relationship with Sue was kind of off, you know?

There is something in this chapter that made me think of a possible reason for your mentioning his family in detail, both his mom's side and his dad's side, but especially his mom's side, you said before that there was, and i think that you began to hint at it with this chapter, i'll keep this to myself cause there might be a slight chance i'm right... well probably not but maybe...

Author's Response:

Oh, I do SOOO love nice long reviews!

Bella does go to Forks sooner than she does in canon, but they're just visits.  As for actually moving there, that will be more in line with canon.

I have to admit, I never liked Charlie/Sue.  Pairing up with your friend's widow just about a year after his sudden death?  Little uncomfortable.  Like dating your friend's ex.  It just felt to me like it should be on the "You just don't do this." list.  I think it would start people talking, "How long has this been going on?"  There'd be talk that she'd been cheating on Harry with Charlie.  I was glad Charlie ended up with someone, but someone else would've been better, I thought.  Now, Emily's widowed/divoreced/whatever mother who came to visit could've been interesting.

I try to explain things in my notes because I have to keep reminding myself that something that is clear in my head, because I know what I meant and what's to come, may not be so clear to someone reading it.

There is a reason why I made Edward go into such detail talking about his family and friends, but if my reason is the reason you're thinking of, I don't know.  But there is a reason.

Thanks so much for reviewing!

LOL.  So Ed is a leg man.  It's a calves that are most striking I understand and length with shape.  Long legged lovely hence the torture of high heels.

I think your right.  Boobs in dresses though the ages have often been 'up and out' on display but many many skirts hide the legs and feet at the same time.  I'm thinking middle ages conservatives.  Good thing for me as I'm a boob man.  That doesn't mean size, it means shape but size helps   ;)

Thanks for answering everyone's questions, mine are all answered.  Just wanted to pass along how much I enjoyed chapter 15!

I'm so glad you like it!  Personally, I tend to prefer finished stories, too.  But I do promies the story is fully writen, it's just still being betad and edited.

Another awesome chapter. As always. And I loved Edward's reaction to the pictures.

I was only disapointed that Bella never looked at the website. But I guess that if she did she would only think Jacob is crazy or something like that. Anyway, maybe, in the not so distant future she will be interested in this and look up the site again.

Author's Response:

I'm so glad you like it!

No, Bella never looked at the website, but that doesn't mean no one did.  She's not ready to enter that world yet.  One supernatural phenomenon at a time.  However, someone else has been blissfully in the dark for long enough.

Thanks for reviewing, and thanks again for nominating me for "What's pwning you?"

Reviewer: Sweetie7smiled (Signed) · Date: July 02, 2012 05:00 PM · On: Chapter 15

Fascinating chapter!  I like the nuances of subconscious Cullen loyalty you've interwoven.  Very neat!  And I'm guessing it might have been Tanya who was waiting in the trees?  Maybe Charlie is Tanya's mate?  Or just a happy fling?  I'm not sure which, but I think there's a possiblity it goes deeper than usual.

Great responses from Edward, to Bella's pictures!  I think your take on it makes perfectly good sense!  Lol.  :)  What a despairing thought, though, that neither one of them can imagine ever having the chance to be with the one they love.  That would be so hard... but I'm glad they'll ultimately find a way.

I wonder what Bella will be able to learn about the epidemic, and where that will take them...  Neat story!!  Thanks for writing!

Author's Response:

Charlie is Tanya's mate.  I think being walked out on once is enough, I wouldn't do that to poor Charlie.

Oh, they'll be together in the end, but getting there won't be easy.

I'm glad you liked it, thanks for reviewing!
