Collin and Ness had a good time, until Aaron and his nasty attitude showed up. Leah was having  good time kissing Matt, until he asked her out! The color of his eyes changing makes me think there might be something unique about Matt, too! What might it be?

Reviewer: k1942 (Signed) · Date: January 12, 2015 09:15 PM · On: Chapter 2

What the hell has gotten ahold of poor Bruce? They sound pretty nasty and the one seeming human wasn't any better! This must be the trouble coming from the south the wolves will have to deal with! Sure, now Jake has found a woman he really likes, more supernatural trouble is on the way!

Reviewer: k1942 (Signed) · Date: January 12, 2015 08:59 PM · On: Chapter 1

Looks like in your story, Jacob never imprinted on Ness, so he's free to fall for Eden. Life seems too calm and collected around Forks and La Push, so there must be danger on the horizon!

Reviewer: k1942 (Signed) · Date: January 11, 2015 11:25 PM · On: Prologue

Too bad it's past my bedtime, this is starting out really well! I think Jacob has a good idea here and it should work out for both packs to be reunited. The relationship between Renessmee and Leah is a nice touch!

'Emily looked out toward the water. "What is that?" Then her eyes widened. "Kim! There's someone out there!"(...)        Kim dropped down next them. "Tommy!" Kim touched his cheek. "Geez, you're cold as ice!"(...)        She moved to the next person, someone Tommy had a death grip around. She began checking his wounds. "Oh, my God! It's Aaron, and he's bleeding!"'        Looks like Bleached Were underestimated the two of them.        :-]

"What do you need me to do, Peaches? How can I prove to you that it's you I want and that I'm not going anywhere? What do I need to do?"        She kissed him gently, sweetly, then held his face in her hands. "Show me."        And he did show, that's for sure (wow, it was hot there!).  I imagine it's a step away from the fear Sam planted in her, isn't it?

But, Shae, that bite made me think, for a second, that you mixed up your supernaturals there.        :-P

'"Sam's still in love with her, and he's jealous that Matt is making Leah happy, maybe happier than he ever did."(...)        "This is what I deserve, isn't it? This is my punishment."(...)        "I was hoping to talk to you."        "About what? Did something else happen out there?"        "No, Sam," Emily said. "I just need to talk to you, babe."(...)        Emily ended the call and took a deep breath. She'd made a decision to be honest with Sam, and tell him how she felt. Let the chips fall where they may.'        Things are in flux between Sam and Emily, I see.  I hope they mend their bridges.  I don't want them unhappy, after all.  I just want Sam to stop interfering with Leah and Matt.

Nice intermezzo, Shae.  A small tidbit I liked was when Kim used the Cullens as a standard for relationships.  Am I right in assuming she have no great prejudices against them?  Anyway, see you next chapter.        ^_^

Author's Response:

Yep! Those La Push boys are warriors through and through. They aren't to be underestimated!

I'm glad you liked Matt showing Leah how he feels. He really does love her so much, but it's hard for Leah to see that. But Matt was successful in getting her to open up to him. :)

Sam and Emily are in a tough situation. But it takes a lot to make a relationship work, and as one of my readers on a different site said, they were depending on the imprint to do all the work. Now with the imprint fading, they have to see what's left.

More to come!

'Yes, I'm working on those couples, but did you mean Rachel and Paul or Rebecca and John? Either way, there's more to come.'

OOPSS!!!  My bad (damn twins!).  I meant Rebecca and John.  Not that I mind reading about Paul and Rachel too.        :-]

Reviewer: Costa (Signed) · Date: December 09, 2014 02:03 PM · On: Chapter 20

Hey, hey, Shae!  I like the final polish you gave to the chapter.   Looks good!        ;)

"Wait, wait! So one of the vampires knocked up a human? And the fetus survived?" The blond let out shriek of laughter. "That's priceless! What about the female. Is she still alive? You know what, that doesn't matter. It's enough to know it can happen."        Uh-oh!  I have a bad feeling about it...

I know that your Weres are AU.  In canon, according to the Guide, they can have children.  I don't think you told us about that regarding yours.  Did they ever try?

'A sharp pain bloomed in Aaron's side, and the blond held up his talons. Blood dripped from them, and Aaron realized it was his.(...)        He stumbled back, and a hand pushed him. Then he was falling into the water below.'        Oh, boy...  I'm not very fond of Aaron, but...  Damn!!

"Yeah, well tell that to Rachel and Paul or Embry and Angela, because they are proof that you have a choice." Renesmee looked at her. "You know what Sam's problem is? He still has strong feelings for you, and he doesn't know how to deal with you moving on without him."        Hahahah!  Nessie is my hero!  Exactly what Leah needed to hear.  I just hope it's enough to counter Sam's irritating "advice".        :-/

Can't wait to see what comes next.  My main interests:  Nessie and Collin, Jake and Eden, and, especially, Paul and Rebecca.  But, with the Weres about to make their move, I guess it will still take a bit until we get there, eh?

Author's Response:

Thanks! I thought you would like it. I didn't know that about the werewolves, but we'll get into that soon! *wink*

Aaron wasn't very smart, was he? We'll see how much that costs the pack. I'm so glad you like my version of Ness. There are so many people who aren't fond of her character, so it's nice to hear.

Yes, I'm working on those couples, but did you mean Rachel and Paul or Rebecca and John? Either way, there's more to come.

"Do you know what it feels like to love someone so much that it hurts then destroy them?(...) That's going to happen when you imprint. You'll have to break his heart."        "Who says I'll imprint? Embry didn't imprint and neither did Paul. And Collin is crazy about Red.(...) Not everyone's mate is picked for them."        "Imprinting is rare, but so are you. What if your imprint is out there waiting?" His voice was solemn, regretful. "You won't be able to fight it."        Damn!  Matt is very good for Leah.  She can't dump him for something that might never happen!!  Besides, I think Sam is using this excuse to keep her "his".  Even if he's not aware of it.

Two things to remember here:  the advice she gave Edward regarding Nessie and Collin;  and the Council's discoveries Rachel shared with Leah.  Please, please, please, let her remember...!

'That woman is the one Donnie attacked in the forest a few weeks back. The one the Quileute pack was protecting.        I thought you said that she wouldn't survive the night.        I did. She should either be dead now or a werewolf.(...)        She's something else.        Then find out who or what she is! We don't want any surprises.'        Now, that's interesting.  When they attacked Nessie, I thought they knew about her, and attacked to see what would happen to a hybrid.  Now, looks like it was more a "Hey, a Quileute and his girlfriend.  Let's screw with him!"        :-/

Mark was a creep even before the change.  Irk!  And the weres are going to war, it seems.  Man, I think the next chapter won't be an easy one...

Author's Response:

When it comes to love, Leah's a little gun shy, especially if it means leaving Matt the same way that Sam left her. But she also knows about the bond that formed between Embry and Angela and now Paul and Rachel. She's got some thinking to do.

What can I say about Sam? He's conflicted.

I wanted to give Eden's stalker a backstory and show that he was always creepy.

'Rebecca gasped as he lifted her off the ground, her feet dangling helplessly. He was holding her so close, so tight. Her only thought as she held on to his forearms was that it wasn't close enough.(...)        "Don't think I didn't see your eyes light up whenever John had his arms around you. I know you too well, my dear sister, and you like that one." Rachel smiled.(...)        "No, Becky. He's a real werewolf. He was bitten about forty years ago."        "Oh." Well, that's interesting.'        Yum!  For a first sight, I think that was delicious.  Can't wait to see their next move.        ;)

"So you've been hanging out with her? How is she?"        "Honestly? She's miserable. She's having a hard time."        "Well, she's the one who broke up with me," Jacob mumbled.(...)        "Do you think she wanted to do that? She knows you're keeping something from her, and she thinks you don't trust her. What was she supposed to do?"        I really, REALLY, hope Jake doesn't let his ego get in the way.  After all, Ness is right.  It is his fault Eden broke up with him.

And the creep is getting bolder.  Geez!  Please, Shae, show some compassion for my nails, and don't let us hang, ok?

At least not for too long.        ;)

Author's Response:

Yeah. We'll see how Rebecca deals with John being a werewolf. ;)

With Eden, I kept thinking that there would come a point that she would have to do what's best for her. If someone was being secretive and hiding things from me all the time, how long would I stick around?

And yes, the creep is getting bolder.

Next chapter will be posted soon!

"Are you regretting being a vampire?"        "I wouldn't say I regret it, because I want to live with Edward forever. But forever didn't have to happen so soon. I could have waited a few years."        It seems to me it has less to do with her being a vampire than with being banished from a place where she has so many friends.  I hope it changes, somehow.

"Eden broke up with me."(...)        "Do you think she'll take me back?"        "Maybe. That's why you need to focus. The sooner we get rid of this threat, the sooner Leah's safe, Tommy's home, and then you can talk to Eden."        I understand their reasoning, but I hope it doesn't take that long.  First, because I want Jake and Eden back together sooner rather than later.  And also because, with Eden on the sights of Viktor's lieutenant, if they're apart, Jake will end up with Eden, the Werewolf, as his girlfriend.        :-]

'This was the moment, and she knew if she didn't take it, she'd miss it. Before she lost her nerve, she leaned forward and kissed him.(...)        Why had she waited so long to kiss him again? The first time they kissed was definitely memorable, but this kiss was hotter than anything she'd ever read about. In fact, kisses like this were what inspired romance novels. She felt it through her body, zinging all the way to her toes. Even her wolf hummed.'        WOO-HOO!!  Took her long enough.        X-D

I like to see how Jake and Bella are mending their bond.  And the "medicinal reason" for the stored blood and her wavering in control.  Well done, Shae.

Can't wait to see what comes next...

Author's Response:

I'm sorry I'm late again. Real life, sometimes, hinders things.

Yep, Bella's going down memory lane here. I think it's important for her to remember Jacob's love, even if they've both moved on. Things make us who we are. I think it's important for Jacob to remember that he loved Bella. Her not choosing him left him free to find greater love elsewhere. I also wanted Bella to remember it too.

Yes, she's upset about not being allowed on La Push, but she's immortal and things could change one day. Who knows?

Eden broke up with Jacob, but it wasn't easy for her at all. You'll see!

And Leah and Matt! I've said it before. I love writing about these two!

More to come!

'Leah had no time to prepare for what happened next. Rachel, armed with a small knife, jumped on the werewolf's back and stuck it in his neck. Taking advantage of his surprise, she pulled it out and stuck it in again. Blood gushed out of the wound, splattering all over Rachel's hand and Leah's fur.(...)        Rachel nodded numbly and looked down at her bloodstained hands. They shook violently.        "Do you think he's dead?" Her eyes were wide, and a tear trickled down her cheek. "Did I kill him?"'        Geez!!  Last chapter's end left me sure Leah and Rachel were goners.  Who would say little Rachel would save the day?  Poor thing.  But what she did was awesome!

"How do you know it's werewolf venom?" Paul asked.        "Because I can sense it." He gave him a toothy grin. "I'm the werewolf in the pack."(...)        "He's John, remember? You saw him in the woods."(...)        John chuckled. "I imagine that I look different without the sharp teeth and talons."        Heheh!  Nice to see them getting acquainted with John in a...  less terrifying manner.        ;)

"Jacob says he wants someone patrolling my house, especially since Red still isn't back to her full strength. She's home, and she's getting her strength back, but they want her to be careful. She wanted to come over, but they didn't want her to push herself too much."        Ah, good news!  I just hope Edward didn't give Collin too much of a hard time.        :-P

That was too close a call.  Good job, Shae.  Can't wait to see what next!

Author's Response:

Rachel is a atrong character too, even though she's not one of the wolves. She still has those Alpha genes. :)

I wanted to introduce John in his human form so they wouldn't be too threatened by him and show a little bit of his personality.

And as far as Edward giving Collin a hard time, let's just say that Renesmee inherited her stubbornness from her mother. ;)

Thanks for reading. I'm sorry for the delay in responding and the next chapter. I've been under a little bit of stress, and it's hard to write with that hanging over my head. But I should have a chapter ready in a day or two.

'It's funny you say that, because for me, the romance left when the concept of imprinting was introduced, but I've always been that "fight for you love" person. It seemed that no one had a choice because everything was already planned for them. What if they had a different plan? The foundation of imprinting was nice, with the wolf bonding with their mates. It's just the lack of free will that bothers me.

I see where you're coming from.  But let me explain my point of view.

First of all, since when do love have to do with choice?  True love, at least?  Two people meet and, if there is exposure enough or, sometimes, legend says, at first sight, the bond is formed by the unfathomable reasons of the heart.  They can choose to avoid it due to one inconvenience or another, but this leads only to unhappiness.

With this Theory of True Love in mind, my favorite version of Imprinting would not be a shackle, but awareness.  The Wolf would meet that person and know this one is his/her other half.  And, since it would be the right person, why the hell would they try a different path?

So, this is my romantic version of Imprint.  But, I repeat, yours is interesting.  And can't wait to see what is this other surprise you're cooking.        :)

Author's Response:

Yeah, that's probably where we're going to have to agree to disagree. I just like love that develops over time and isn't instant, but your view is okay too. I will never tell anyone their opinion is wrong because opinions can't be right or wrong. They are just our personal preferences.

The fact is that these are SM's characters and she likes romance like that. Luckily, she doesn't seem to mind us fanfiction writers changing things up a little. At least not yet. :)

Cross your fingers. The next chapter should be ready soon! :)

"He imprinted," Leah reminded Rachel. "That means he found his soul mate."(...)        Rachel released a deep breath. "I'm not really supposed to talk about this until we have some concrete information, but I'm going to tell you anyway. What if I told you that imprinting wasn't what we thought it was?"        Your version of Imprinting is interesting.  Of course, it kind of takes the romance out of it, as a, let's say, special trait that tells you when you found your soulmate.  But it's well thought, makes sense.  And, on the bright side, it will give non-imprinted couples, like Embry & Angela, Nessie & Collin, and even Rachel & Paul, some piece of mind about potential future heartbreaks.  Hmm, I wonder if it clicked for Rachel how it benefits her.

'Leah was fighting with all of her heart, but her eyes were drooping and her movements were becoming sloppy.        Rachel was so surprised, she barely heard the footsteps behind her. When she turned around, thre was a man running toward her at full speed. All the terror that rested in her stomach came forward in an ear piercing scream.'  Uh.  Oh!!!

Now is when the war will truly begin.  Just send me the next chapter already!        :-P

I like the "final polish" you gave to the chapter.  The result is very good.        ^_^

'"I've always liked peach cobbler, Sam. Honestly, I made those pies for you because you liked them so much."        "Well, I wouldn't be opposed to you making them again." Sam stood up slowly, keeping his eyes on her.(...)        "I'm sure Emily's apple pie tastes better than mine," Leah answered, casually. Leah saw his expression flip at the mention of his wife. "You're all set." She reached to adjust the bandage, but Sam pulled away.        "Thanks," he muttered, then walked toward Kim.'        Yep; as Edward said, his head is a mess.  As a side note, for some reason, I like the imagery Leah used involving Whitney Houston singing to explain how she feels about Matt.        :)

"She needs blood. Human blood."        "I've spoken to her about it, and she has refused," Bella said, gravely. "She doesn't want to awaken her bloodlust. She doesn't want any slipups."        "Even if it will save her life?" Edward's eyes widened.        "It's the temptation she's worried about. She doesn't want to risk becoming addicted to it."        Interesting change you made from the original.  Well thought.

"I have blood," Bella practically shouted.        The room went silent, and all eyes turned to the brown haired vampire.(...)        "Bells? Why the hell do you have blood? Are you drinking it? What the hell is going on with you?"        "It's not like that, Jake," Bella answered, imploring his understanding. "I haven't had any human blood for over a month now. I have it just in case ..."        Sooo, you made Bella fall into temptation.  Hmm...  Not sure how I feel about it.  At least, tell me she didn't kill anyone in the last ten years?        :-|

Good job, Shae.  Can't wait to see what happens next.  You know my e-mail.        ;)

Author's Response:

Thanks, Matt is something new for Leah. Everyone had been giving her the impression that something was wrong with her because she's the only femaile shifter. But Matt sees her as a gift, something that should be cherished and celebrated. How could she not be drawn to that? Next chapter we'll get into why things happened the way they did.

Yeah, my Ness is different from SM's. Like Collin said, she didn't ask to be born like this, but she's taking things seriously. I'm one of the few people on Team WolfPack that likes Renesmee, and I think that's because I see what kind of character she could be.

Yeah, I figured people would have mixed reactions about Bella. If you hadn't guessed, I'm not a fan of book-Bella, but for the most part, I like fanfiction-Bella, because she's flawed. If I write her, she's not going to be perfect. Maybe her consequences didn't show up until later. Oh, and don't worry about her and Jake. He's more upset that she didn't tell him. You know how Jake is with loyalty.

  At your service, ma'am.       ;)

'He threw his shirt in her direction and turned around. He tried not to think about her being naked twenty feet away. Instead, he concentrated on pulling the zipper up on his pants without hurting himself.'        *snickers*

"So, she doesn't know about you."        "She knows that I'm keeping something from her."        "You're going to tell her soon, right?  Because the closer you get, the harder it's going to be to let her go if she can't understand what you are. I've seen it, Jake, and it's not pretty."        Yeah, I agree with Matt, it's about time Jake tells Eden.  She already saw enough things to be bugged, better go ahead with it.  And I'm bouncing to see this scene.  Be good, Shae.        :-P

  "So this is the part where you tell me to be good to her or your break my neck, right?"        "Oh, I'm not going to do anything." Jacob smiled. "I don't need to. If you break her heart, you'll have to deal with Seth. He may seem all playful and fun, but you don't want to get on his bad side. Not to mention, Edward has a soft spot for her too. She's always looking out for Ness, and he feels indebted to her. And her stepfather is the Chief of Police and an excellent shot."        BWAHAHAHAHAH!  So, it would be a triple alliance against him, huh?  All that was left was to add a werewolf to the mix.  But I don't think Leah and John are that close already.        X-}

"So, what's the deal with her and Sam? He's married, but it's like he still has a thing for Leah."(...)        "Well, there's a long history between those two, but it's not my place to explain. I will say this, though. She is very strong, but she has her vulnerable moments."        Oh, right, Matt's pack don't know about imprinting, correct?  Damn, this thing must really be rare here.

"Why do you think they came so close to the Cullens?"        "I'm not sure, but it does concern me. Just like us, they can smell vampires and they usually avoid them.(...) The fact that they did come so close is definitely something to worry about."        Why, indeed.  Hmm...  Perhaps Viktor wanted to make a test.  At this point, he probably already know about Nessie, and wants to know what their venom would do to a hybrid.  Adding a bit of vampire power to his pack; Nessie would be an asset, wouldn't she?

I'm almost as worried with Nessie as Collin and her family.  Please, don't let us hanging for long, ok?        ;)

Author's Response:

So, I'm just responding now. I got a little sidetracked.

Yes, Jacob is getting to the point where he won't be able to keep secrets much longer. We'll see how Eden reacts.

BWAHAHAHAHAH!  So, it would be a triple alliance against him, huh?  All that was left was to add a werewolf to the mix.  But I don't think Leah and John are that close already.        X-}    Leah is important to the pack, even though she wasn't treated like that at first. Of course, she'd tell you that could take care of herself. :)

As far as the imprinting thing, well, that will be explained soon.

The next chapter should be approved soon!

"Collin. I'm half vampire. I'm a threat. If someone cuts themselves, I may lose myself to bloodlust. It's a valid fear."        "You'd never hurt anyone. If things got out of hand and you couldn't control yourself, you'd leave first. And that's not just because of the treaty. It's you, honey. You didn't ask to be this way, but here you are, playing with the cards you were dealt."(...)        "My mother and I had a long talk after you left. I told her that I was a grown man who can make my own decisions. No matter what happens between you and me, it's between you and me and anyone who has a problem can kiss my ass!"        "Did you really say ‘ass' to your mother?"        "I said, ‘butt'."         LOL!!  That's my boy!  I imagine the old lady's face hearing that.  But I have to wonder if this is the end of it...  If it isn't, I hope Collin stays strong.

"Living forever sounds good on paper, but it kinda sucks after a while. It's hard watching your family and friends move on or worse, die."        "I can understand that. I never wanted to live forever."        No, she didn't.  But I ask myself if Leah, and Matt himself, will reconsider.  They have each other now, after all, and if it works...

'"My father wasn't a shifter, though. They were just two crazy kids who fell in love. She wanted to age so she wouldn't outlive him. She also wanted to have a family of her own, so she stopped phasing and had us."        "So, when she stopped phasing, she was able to have a family?" Leah's heart was thumping so hard. Was that possible for her, too?'        One of her greatest frustations.  Good to see her happy.        ^_^

'A series of images flashed in his head. Some were images of Emily, but then his thoughts took a turn. Memories of Leah: their first kiss, the moment he told her he loved her, the feeling he had when she said she would marry him, all of it hit her.(...) For years, she'd been told that Sam didn't see their love like that anymore, that he didn't remember it, but there it was in high definition. He remembered everything.'        I guess this will be cause to a very awkward conversation later on.

Or they will avoid each other like the plague for all eternity.        :-P

'Sam looked at a woman lying on the ground. Her breathing was labored and she was barely conscious, but Leah heard a faint heartbeat. She was scared and bleeding profusely from a huge open wound across her abdomen and a large bite mark on her neck.(...)        Leah felt someone phase out of the pack mind. Through Sam's eyes, she saw Collin naked and covered in blood as he dropped down next to Renesmee.        Collin? He's not supposed to phase yet, Leah asked, remembering that Jacob left the Alpha command intact.        Well, he did, Sam answered.'        Holy crap!  And Nessie was just after a snack.  Bella and Edward will be insane when they learn about this.  But seeing Collin overcome the alpha block to defend his redhead...  Almost worth it.        :-]

That's what I call a *BANG!!* chapter, Shae.  By the way, I think your solutions for the issues I pointed were elegant.  Well done.

Author's Response:

Yeah, the issues with Mrs. Littlesea aren't quite resolved yet, but it's nice to see Collin standing up for himself and Ness.

I don't know about Matt and Leah living forever, but they certainly have the option. Matt has already lived 67 years, but he was alone most of the time, especially after his wife was killed. Who knows what they'll do. ;)

And the Leah and Sam drama will continue. We'll see how Sam deals with what Leah saw.

Things will get very interesting when they get back to the Cullens. :)

I'm glad you liked that chapter. I was hoping to surprise everyone with that little action scene.

What the hell Bella, could she be acting any creepier? lol

It's nice to get into the head of the Victor,

I loved the chapter!

Dixie

Author's Response:

Yeah, she is a little creepy right now. In Breaking Dawn, she had complete self control. What if it was delayed? What if she really was having problems with it.

More to come!
