I can not say I love this story. I can say it took me to places I had not been in a while. When I was 28 a young mother 8 months pregnant with her second child and a doctor telling us my mother had rectal cancer. She and I were in the same hospital on different floors when I delivered my daughter 3 weeks early. Strain I guess from being an only child with a widowed mother. My 5 yr old son so loved his grandmother she was so special to him. I took care of them all for the 5 months she lived.

Years later when my son was now 39 he developed the same disease. The day he went to the specialist I reminded him to tell the doctor about my mother.  His other grandmother had colon cancer years before but survived. After 8 months a misdiagnosis my son had surgery on 3rd stage colo/rectal caner. Today he is a survivor of that disease.  He went to Chicago for treatement and goes back there for his follow ups. My husbands  has so much cancer in his family it is shocking.

God carried me through each one of these times. Without faith I could not have made it.  I believe my daughter (who I had a hard time conceiving) came just in time to get me through that very hard time of loosing my mother.

Beautiful story you wrote. I am sure you will touch many.

 

 

If I start thinking about the people in my family who have had or died from cancer, I get depressed. My family, my husbands family way too much cancer.  My son at 39 had 3rd stage colo rectal went that far because a doctor mis diagnosed him. His first cousin had same thing at the same age, etc etc.

 

This is why Bella was afraid to get involved with them as a family. She is close now. Esme is like a mother to her and Edward she is in love with. 

 

Shitty cancer if the disease doesn't kill you the treatments will.

I started reading this story this morning and I couldn't put it down. Kudos to you! Keeping your mother in my prayers!

I'm not really one to review a story, more of a read in silence type. But thank you for sharing your story with me.

Already in tears as cancer is hitting it close to home in my family!! But fortunate enough to have not lost alot of people from it!!

I can't express how much this story has impacted my life. It's been an amazing journey and your writing style is beyond great. Even though the story can be a tear-jerker, it's a beautiful way to end.

Saying this after it is written is probably stupid.... BUT.. she can not date her patient. She can date a family member of her patient. Not the patient!
