Simply delightful ! Such a beautifully written letter; and I loved your description of Jasper as "primarily soft spoken but tended to speak profoundly". I feel like I'm reading a "Gone with the Wind" type novel... can't wait for the next chapter ! By the way, I'm suzaddiction on Twitter and fanfic. I'm writing/reading here as fanfic hasn't updated your story yet (but hopefully will rectify their problems soon). Thank you again for writing such a beautiful story. :)
Author's Response: Thank you so much. What a nice thing to say! What a surprise that the chapter came up first on Twilighted. Ordinarily, it takes a week for a chapter to get valiated, but this chapter went through the queue very quickly. Ch. 14 will go up on FFN on Wednesday.

Wow! Fabulous chapter! I love, love, love Jasper's letter to Bella - you captured the sweetness of his feelings for her as well as how formally & eloquently an 1860's Southern gentleman would probably express himself when writing a letter to his sweetheart. Cant wait for next update, especially if there's more correspondence between these two - I just wish Bella would hurry up & figure out that it's ok, that she's supposed to be with Jasper! ...If his letter didn't start to overcome her reservations, I don't know what it will take! :) Great work!

Ouch! If that had gone on any longer, I would have been crying! That is just the sort of heartbreaking situation that sets me off! The only reason I didn't cry when I first read New Moon was that I had read Breaking Dawn first, and the emotional impact of Edward leaving was severely lessened when I knew that they married and had a child in the end. (I read the books in the order I bought them, and I got BD before I could get the middle two). I cried at the movie though... but only a couple of tears.
I don't know who to feel more sorry for: Jasper, for the confusion he must be feeling at Bella's hot and cold reactions, knowing what he feels but unable to get that clarity from her; or Bella, because she knows that falling for him, with his whole other destiny and Alice to come, is just wrong and setting herself up for more heartbreak, yet she can't help it!
Now I so can't wait to read more!
