Perfect! Absolutely perfect! I love vulnerable Jasper. This was a very tender chapter...this first time together was wonderfully written. It's a nice change to see this side of Jasper. Don't get me wrong...I love the strong dominant side in fics...but this was just too sweet for words:)

I'm really enjoying this story. It's great to see a more innocent and vulnerable Jasper who hasn't been hardened by the vampire wars. I can't wait to see what happens after he's turned, does Bella get turned too and show him another way? Or does she wake up in 2006 with more knowledge? Keep up the good work.

i love this story!!!! this was such a sweet chapter. i keep trying to picture 1862 Jasper, not just the small glimpse we got from Eclipse, but actually in your story.....with Bella. Wish i had more mental images to pull from.

Author's Response: I wish there was more Jasper in the saga period. I have to say that when I picture Jasper, it is a mix of Jackson Rathbone and Casey James (who was on American Idol in 2010).

Author's Response: I won't say who will or won't be there, but we will eventually see more of 2006, and there will be vampires there.
I try to update every Wednesday, but with the validation process, sometimes it is a little faster or slower than that. LoG does go up every Wednesday on FFn. I have nearly the entire story already written, but my chapters go through my pre-reader, a revision, my two betas, and another revision, and that process takes some time. Once a week is unfortunately as fast as I can go and still be comfortable with the quality of work.

Author's Response: The next chapter will be up as close to Wednesday as possible. The chapters are gradually growing longer, but I'm unfortunately not one to over-write.

It doesn't surprise me that premarital sex was common during the Civil War era. I'm sure the line about going to war worked then, too. :) Even without that, every generation tends to view the one before it with nostalgic rose colored glasses that don't usually hold up to scrutiny.
I am enjoying this story immensely and I can't wait to read the next chapter!

Oh my, I can't believe it but I actually got teary at the end of this chapter and it made my heart thud! This was beautiful! And I like that Bella is slowly merging into her new time. She's not quite there - but she's so far on her way that you can almost forget she came from a different time (whereas even in the last chapter, it was impossible to forget because she's so forward sexually with him, and even if it was fairly common then, it came across to me like she is still very much a product of her time and upbringing). Anyway what I'm trying to say is that the transition is so well done. It feels like the old Bella is fading away and this new vibrant Bella is emerging. I love it! Thank you for the new chapter!
Author's Response: Yes! This is exactly what I wanted. In addition to this being a B/J story, I wanted there to be a large focus on Bella's journey of self-discovery. I thought she really needed to learn who she was and who she wanted to be before she could ever really focus on being with Jasper.

Wow! I just discovered your amazing story yesterday when I saw your beautiful banner. I devoured the story reading it all at once. I wanted to pace myself but I just couldn't stop. Your human Jasper is wonderful and even though I am not a big Bella Fan, your strong self aware character hooked me. I want about 50 more chapters right now! LOL!
