Oh Elbereth49...there you go again, making me teary-eyed and sighing with love of Stephenie's characters!
This was positively brilliant!!! I agree that Esme's powers are to love and nurture and to see her share that over memories of her lost son, the feelings for the son she gained in Edward, and the love for her precious soulsinger Carlisle in your story...truly exposes what a talented writer you are! Can't wait to continue reading your work!!! :) *P.S. - You're secret power is safe with me! ;)

Author's Response:

Thanks, Miss Newie  :)  I'm so glad you are liking my stories.  Hopefully I can get the WIP's kicked back into gear and post some more.  I'm not sure how well *I'll* be able to keep my secret if we keep talking about it at work though...  ;)

What a sweet piece, I'm so glad you wrote it!  I love the relationship between Carlisle and Esme.  Aren't they the perfect parents for Edward?  And I too have found that pencil is faster and somehow less intimidating than pen when you need to think fast!

Author's Response:

Thank you for your kind words  :)  I'm really wishing a magic pencil will help me with the writer's block I'm having on my current story...

I love the idea of Esme keeping a journal and then her and Carlisle looking at it years later.

I also love the ending about their family being complete now - if only they knew.

Personally, I would love to read more of Esme's journal entries.

Author's Response:

Thank you Very much!  :)  I would love to read more of her journal too -- I just have to wait for inspiration to hit again.  Sometimes it takes a while.

This was one of the most beautiful things I've ever read. You do such a lovely job of capturing the deep love between Carlisle and Esme. He truly is her rock and she the one who lends the love back into his life. I adored reading each journal entry and really thought you captured her voice perfectly.

Wonderful!

Author's Response:

Thank you!  I am REALLY glad you liked it.  Your story was my inspiration  :)

Lovely work. Very tender and true to the characters. I especially like the part about Carlisle and Esme visiting her baby's burial place, and leaving a Cullen crest there. So touching.

Author's Response:

Thank you very much for your kind words.  I really feel that it was something that Carlisle would do.  In Elise's story, which was my inspiration, he gave Esme's son his name, but I wanted to take it a little further.  Each of the other members of Carlisle's family wears the crest in some way so I thought it only reasonable that he would make this gesture.
