Jake actually surprised me, but he’s still kind of a jerk because he saw this coming and still acused her of things he should have known she would never do. He also held on for dear life far beyond the time he should have. He should have been a man and let her go when she left for college. He also fought with Edward and he should have spared Bella that nonsense, and been a better man. He knew that would hurt her, just like his accusations did, but he did it anyway. Jake is just lucky that she is the wonderful person she is and still wants to be friends with him. Maybe he won’t disparage her to their families either.
I can’t wait to see the progression of Edward and Bella’s relationship now though. I get she needs time, but she also needs Edward. That is quite obvious.

And again, this IS Jake’s doing, not Edward’s but Jake is too self-centered to actually see that. It also seems that he really doesn’t know Bella at all if he thinks for one second that she would cheat on him. Bella really needs to tell Jake that. Does he not see the distance between them that has been happening for months now? Well, He’s a bit dense, so probably not. I guess the talk will be now instead of later, huh?

Of course Jake will make her birthday difficult. He wants to make it harder for her. He is selfish and immature and wants her to feel guilty when all of this is really on him. I’m so ready for this to be dealt with. I bet he tells the families a one-sided exaggerated lie about why they are breaking up, probably blaming it on the distance and her friends in stead of telling them about how they have been growing apart for a long while now and he has been pressuring her and guilting her this whole time. Ugh! I hope she is brave and stays strong and knows he’ll try to manipulate her throughout this whole situation.

I wonder if Jake even cares that he’s making her unhappy and has been for a while now. I think all he cares about is what he wants and what he wants her to do. He’s jealous and insecure and he’s also his own worst enemy. He’s pushing her away with his attitude and demeanor and pushing her into a corner and making her want to escape. He’s losing her and it’s his own fault. Edward is just a bonus, he’s not the problem at all. Bella has been pulling away for several months and Jake is trying to guilt her into doing what he wants. He’s very selfish. He’ll learn the hard way though.

I think that was a great chapter. It was fun and serious and kept me very interested in what they were all saying. It’s kinda strange to see Edward as a bit insecure, but it makes him human, and that’s important. Look at how Jess and Ang thought of him until they actually talked to him for more than 10 seconds. Wow, he’s actually a great guy. He’s definitely MORE than the face. He’s more than his attractiveness. I loved it. I’m still wondering about what will happen with Jake when he comes to visit. I KNOW there WILL be some serious tension and jealousy on his part one he gets a look at the Cullens and the Hales. I predict he’s gonna FREAK!! ;D

I’m sure he told her because he feels like she is trustable and sincere in her caring about him and his happiness. And he is totally correct in that assessment. She is trustworthy and kind and caring. She will be discreet with his secrets and feelings.
I wonder how they BOTH are going to handle Jake being around. I also wonder where Jake will sleep, cause I know he can’t stay in the dorms. I think Jake will be exceptionally intimidated by the boys, and act out accordingly. Unfortunately Bella probably needs to cut her losses with Jake. He is ridged and controlling and demanding. I can see it a mile away, and in my opinion he is on his way to being abusive. This is how it starts. I know from experience. Plus we all know she will eventually end up with Edward anyway, so why torture us all?
I love this story and cannot wait for more. I may have actually read this many years ago, but I truly cannot remember what will happen. My memory is fried unfortunately.

I really just wish you would already realize the distance between her and Jake is not just physical, it’s emotional and it’s intellectual. I mean, what’s gonna happen after college? She’s gonna wanna either her college career or get a job somewhere or do something probably not in Forks and Jake. He just wants to stay in Forks or even LaPush. What is that gonna do for their relationship? She’ll end up, marrying him and resenting him for her entire life for holding her back. Whether she knows it or not, he is holding her back.

Ok, so Jake is insecure,(A real turn-on), and it looks like they have been drifting apart for a couple of years already. She wants to grow up and move on and he’s just kinda stuck and wants to stay put. Disaster waiting to happen. Jake will come visit and be territorial and needy and that’s gonna make everything worse. She asked him to wait, but I bet he will not wait. His insecure ass will probably surprise her and be a douche and will make her angry. She is obviously already frustrated with him and his little bitch attitude. He is his own worst enemy. He is gonna be his own downfall. I can’t wait to see it, so I hope it’s soon. I’m a Bella & Edward kinda girl all the way - always and forever, without fail or falter. In the original stories, I never thought she really loved Jacob too other than just like a kinda brother, but I thought he manipulated her into believing that she did, she NEVER REALLY did. She said it herself, in Eclipse (the book) “I know who I can’t live without.”
I’m so glad the stirrings have already started, but I also know Bella is NOT a cheater, so there will be some tension before the ease. I can’t wait for more!

Well at least they have a peace treaty! I think it’s great that he acknowledged Bella in front of Jessica and the guys, completely making Jess kinda look like she was wrong, because there was no prompting or force at all. I’m sure the boys noticed it too. I wonder what his story is. He doesn’t just avoid the general female population for no reason. He probably had someone date him for notoriety or for his money and is VERY selective about who he spends his time with. And HEY, where’s Alice?
