OK, first of all: You are not writing a crackfictiin and I have the founded idea that imprinting is related to have the best progeny, so I am not sure that this twist holds water but, romantically speaking, it is nice.

Then you deviated from canon also with Jacob not bing present at the birth and the baby girl has another name. Was that necessary for your story?

And, finally, Sam sounds like a great guy, open minded, whiel he eanted to kill Bella and her baby.  Did you delete completely the fact that Jacob is  the real Alpha and he broke from the pack to protect Bella during the pregnancy, being joined by Leah and Seth?

The story was supposed to be an alternative ending to Breaking Dawn, so no, it doesn't follow canon exactly. Jake hasn't broken away from the pack and become his own Alpha, he has too much going on for that. I needed Sam to be a 'good' character for future chapters of the story to work which is why we've conveniently ignored the killing Bella part! And I renamed Renesmee because I didn't like the name, and because I could basically!

Future chapters work within the framework of BD but are vastly different from aspects of canon. Imprinting on Adam is explained further... I've got 15 chapters written so it will explain itself later on :]
