This is Peter's POV from when he met Charlotte up until when Jasper leave them where he finds Alice.

Shortly after their return to Forks, Esme confronts Bella about her cliff diving escapade.

What happened that final summer Bella spent in Forks that forced Charlie to visit her in California?  This is what I think happened.  This one shot written for THE GAZEBO FIC CHALLENGE: The Essence of Charlie Swan.
