In a fraction of a second, I was at Bella's side, the rest of my family still frozen. I put my hands on Bella's shoulders.

"Let her go, Rose," I said, my voice deadly.  She just stared back at me grimly. I searched her mind, trying to get a hold of her plans.  There was a resolve, a plan to protect the baby at all costs.  And an aching desire she couldn't hide to have that baby as her own....

Her face was so deathly still, no response.  She was unearthly pale, and there was the slightest blue tinge to her skin, the sky pale at dawn.  As I pressed my lips to hers, they were too cool.  I blew in gently twice, watching her chest rise and fall mechanically. I moved my mouth to her ear as my hands began to move again.

"Come on, Bella, love," I whispered.  "Come on, sweetheart.  I'm right here.  You did it. You've got a healthy baby. She's so beautiful. You were strong enough.  Now it's time for you to come back.  She's waiting.  I'm waiting, love.  I'm waiting for you, always...

First from Bella's point of view, then Edward's, the missing hours of their wedding night are related in explicit (but never vulgar) detail.  Physical love: It is new territory for both of them.  Bella is (of course) enthusiastic, sensual, immediate.  Edward, always the analytical thinker, must overcome his more restrained nature and his protective instincts.

We know that Bella is full of bliss upon waking the next morning; Edward is not.  What happened?

My aim was to remove the mystery of their wedding night from the otherwise-known history of Bella and Edward; to satisfy my own raging curiousity as to what happened that night; and to provide unabashed pleasure in the reading of it.

NO BABY, just newborn Bella dealing with the highs and lows of being a vampire and the youngest member of the Cullen family, with the help of her new parents and siblings. Unlike in Breaking Dawn, Bella won’t have an easy time of it. She will struggle with various aspects of being a newborn and is also dealing with being in a committed relationship for the first time, with all the give, take, and compromise that relationships require.

Stephenie Meyer hinted at the difficulties that newborns face in the books, but never took Bella down that road.  I will.

Sequel to Captive, but I am told it is not necessary to read that story in order to follow this one. Each chapter stands alone (no cliffies!) but builds on the previous chapter to form a cohesive story (at least that is the plan), detailing Bella’s evolution from volatile newborn to stable vampire.

Bella has absolutely had it. And sh'e out for revenge. She's tired of Emmett and his annoying habit of pranking her. She's also sick of him constantly joking about her and Edward's sex life. Time passed, and I was blissfully unaware. I existed only in this moment with her. Hope burgeoned deep within me as I gazed at the sleeping enchantress. She was my salvation… my reason for carrying on what I had once believed to be a pointless and cursed existence. Through Bella’s love, I was redeemed. Through her, I’d finally found the peace that had eluded me for so many years. And so it was here, in our bubble, that I remained for as long as time permitted. Lulled into a state of relaxation by the steady pounding of Bella’s heart, and the rhythmic crashing of the waves.

Oh, dearest Emily, we are the greatest fools the world has ever seen. Sam and Emily discuss the newly born Renesmee and, more importantly, her future in Jacob Black's life. 

Since Alice never lets the Cullens wear things twice, the family donates all of their clothes to Goodwill after wearing them. In Breaking Dawn, Esme gives some food and clothing to Leah, which she then proceeds to send down the river. But what if these items would still land in the hands of someone in need?
