That's what the Lab Techs had called it. It was the project that I had been slated for. I would be one of GenTech's few successes and the only member of the Angel Experiment to survive Project Lucifer, one of the lucky ones.

Or unlucky, depending on your point of view.

One of the others once asked me "How do you do it?" He meant, how can I go on after everything that's happened or why I keep going when everything seems to be stacked against me. After the... after everything, I was never the same; it changed me. I didn't want to be helpless anymore, so I found ways to manage. I grew up; I got stronger, reshaped what they had broken. That was my life, picking up the pieces-just finding ways to get by-or that's what I tell everybody at least.

If I were to be completely honest with myself, the truth is that I just don't like to lose. Ever since they took away everything, I have loathed being defeated in any way, shape, or form. I felt so... helpless, weak, unable to do anything to protect myself much less anyone else.

Living in a dog crate on a shelf...
