Hi there! My name is Jess and I'm a marketing assistant from Melbourne Australia.
I'm a little new to fanfic as a writer, but I have been consuming the stuff like crazy for years.
I've become a little obsessed with reading fan fiction, and I think that in turn has made me addicted to the Internet. God help me when I go on holidays...
Currently writing my first story, Alternate Universe. I haven't written anything creative in years, so it's nice to be finally doing what I love again. Uni always seems to get in the way! I've also had a shot at writing a crack fic, Vague Summaries and Fan Fiction Cliches, which was a lot of fun. I'm thinking of writing a sequel, and I have some plot bunnies bouncing around in my head, so I'm really looking forward to having time to write them out.
Things you should know about me:
I like to laugh I don't like to take things seriously, especially in fan fiction. We're all here for a bit of fun, so there's nothing worse than nasty girl fights etc.
That being said I'm easily annoyed. If there's something in a fan fiction that annoys me, I'll flounce. I can be kind of fussy that way. Spelling mistakes and poor pacing are probably my biggest ones.
I'm not fussed when it comes to pairingsSome people only read strictly B/E, others have a preference (Jalice, B/Jasper, B/Emmett etc.) I do not have a preference, I enjoy the all. They say variety is teh spice of life, right?
I do have boundaries though. Not a fan of Jacob/Bella. I never felt the chemistry in the books, and when fan fic authors throw them together it's just awkward.
I don't like RPF or Rob/Kristen stories. It's just creepy. *shudder*
I'm Australian What does that mean lovelies? It means I like my 'u's and 's's in the right spot. EG. I will be saying colour, realise, and Mum, not color, realize and Mom. The only place I will write American is in my stories, and that's purely because of their American setting. My personal blogging/tweeting is all Aussie.
It also means that I am probably at least 12 hours ahead of you in time. The future is good, I can definitely promise that.
I will read slash. Not many will, but I do. I like any sexy fic, just as long as it has a complicated and exciting plot to go with it.
I like chocolate, so if you need to bribe me... well that there will do it. :)
I won my first writing competition when I was six. It was about a magic butterfly who turned kids into animals just by touching them. Yeah, while other kids were playing with Barbies, I was writing and illustrating my own picture books. The year after, I decided to write a 'grown up' story - it had chapters. I haven't looked back. :)
I have just joined the TwiMuses as Duchess Jess, so come and visit us on the TwiMuse blog! twimuse (dot) com. I am just starting a feature called "Slow Burn Sundays", so keep an eye out for it!
Finally, I am on Twitter. Follow me @jesicka309 to see what I'm up to, and more importantly, give me a butt kicking when I haven't updated in a while!
