I discovered Twilight while taking a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Italy. My best friend and I were celebrating ten years of friendship, and I was enjoying a little break from the family while five months pregnant with my second child.
I had resisted the whole sparkly vampire phenomena for years (being a self-respecting grown woman and all), but Eclipse - the book - had just come out, and I was feeling the need for some romantic fluff. I was immediately sucked in. When not exploring the ruins of the Colosseum or the art of the Uffizi, I was back in my sweltering hotel as my girlfriend and I gobbled up the first, second, and third of Stephenie Meyer’s delicious books.
I was on the plane going home when I started the fourth, and returning to mothering and real life was impossible until I finished that last one a few days after my return. The fantasy was intoxicating, and though I knew it was all essentially cotton candy, it was certainly worth the empty calories.
I put the books down after that, but getting the characters out of my head was impossible. I found myself re-reading them once a year and seeing the movies as they came out, until even that became too little. Then I remembered my former obsession with another vampire tale, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and the possibilities of the fanfiction world sparked excitement and anticipation.
After a little searching, I stumbled on Twilighted and have been an avid reader of the great work here ever since. The imaginative, heartbreaking, funny, and sexy stories here have re-inspired my own dormant love for writing, and I’m now working on a story that’s nearly complete. I’m excited to share it with the community, excited to provide someone else with my own brand of escapist fluff. I hope you enjoy it.
Peace and sparkly love,
p.s. I have joined the hoard. You can find me on Twitter @twilight_moirae

In her junior year of high school, Bella Swan was days away from moving to Forks, WA. Fate intervened, and she never made the move. Now entering her second year at Emerson College in Boston, Bella is passionate, smart . . . and desperately lonely.
Meanwhile, Edward Cullen is empty after years of slogging through the charade of life. In Alaska following his latest round of high school hell, he spends most of his time avoiding his family and their pitying thoughts. Seeking a change of pace, he enrolls at MIT and makes his way to the east coast the summer before school begins. When he catches the scent of his singer on the air, he follows it—and her—to his destiny.
This story is nearly finished, and I plan on updating weekly.
Shelter is rated NC-17 for language, violence, and lemons. Please don’t read if your momma still checks on you at night.

Jasper is a campus rock star, an earnest and kind-hearted free spirit with a love of attention. Edward lives in the shadows, admiring the charismatic boy from afar. Neither of them could have guessed how much they would come to mean to each other.
