Summary: You know those fics where Edward doesn't come back and Bella forgets about him and five seconds later she's in bed with Jacob and none of it makes any damn sense? Yeah, this isn't one of them.
This story picks up from the moment in New Moon when Jacob has driven Bella home after the cliff diving incident, right before he catches the scent of Alice. Only in this telling, Alice wasn't looking, so there's no sudden appearance at Bella's house, no Rosalie calling Edward and sending him on a suicidal mission to Volterra, and no reason for Bella to do anything but believe that Edward didn't love her anymore. This is simply a story of what might have happened if everyone stayed mostly in character and Edward's return was delayed. Yes, delayed. Because we all know that he was "this close" to coming back on his own anyhow. So what would have happened if Bella had tried to move on with her life? Would she have found happiness with Jacob? And would Edward be too late?
* First in a series of stories
~I thought of Jacob’s warm arms wrapped around me, his infectious laughter, and his ability to keep me from falling to pieces again… The pain choking my heart relaxed and I could breathe.~

~“More than anything,” I whispered, not caring what I'd just agreed to. When it came to Bella, it didn't matter what the question was. I just wanted.~

Title: Chapter 71: Normalcy: Bella's POV
Just wanted to let you know that you have a typo....
“Stay,” I said. “You owe me for last night.”
Hi<<s>> face lit up with a grin just as Charlie walked in to grab another beer. Charlie paused and looked from Jacob to me and then back at Jake again.
“Door stays open,” he said gruffly before heading back to his recliner.
I love it btw... I have been reading it for the past hour, and I'm kind of addicted.
Thanks for alleviating my boredom and giving me something that felt right. I also like in this one that Bella is still Bella without being apushover... and that feelings for Edward don't just go away. Thank you for being realistic (aside from the whole vampires and werewolves part... lol) because i think that is what makes a story between Bella and Jacob so believable; you can actually see her loving him.
Author's Response: Thank you! I set out to make it as realistic as I could under the circumstances. I think one of the things that drew me to Twilight was that it was all a normal world that just happen to have some behind-the-scenes supernatural stuff going on. I'd hate to stray too far from that.
Summary:
Four weeks before her wedding to Edward, Bella is frustrated. She knows there's little-to-no chance of getting him to bend his rules and boundaries now, but there's no harm in fantasizing about what could happen later. So she begins compiling a list of things that she and Edward can do together once they're happily married. She's surprised to find she might be able to cross some things off earlier than she thought...
Story contains mature themes and is not intended for younger readers.
Thanks to Mandi, aka m81170, for the great banner!

Title: Chapter 27: Epiclogue: A Million Tomorrows
Okay, so I'm behind on the band-wagon. I'm not sure that you read these reviews anymore, but I imagine that doesn't matter. I was supposed to be doing other things, but once you get pulled into a story you can't let it go until those characters are out of your head. Anyone who reads and writes knows what I am talking about...
I wanted to tell you, that though i am usually not a Bella/Edward fan... I liked this. The list made some of the changes to the original story that had always bothered me. I had always wondered where her spine was, I had always wondered where the lust was and while I understand what SM did it had always bothered me that Bella had problems with people giving to her at all.
The impact that this has had on me personally is another matter entirely. It made me think about where my passion is. You see, my "match" is a person that I could never have. Not because someone else has them, or because they are too young or old, or anything like that. NO... he lives in Denmark. I knew him for only 4 months and knew that I could spend the rest of my life knowing him and it wouldn't be enough. You have re-inspired me to believe that something can happen that will make it possible. That people can give and take and work on things--which hasn't been my experience.
I know that often people don't think that a story about what amounts to a lot of lemons will mean anything but it wasn't that it was sex, it was that the sex meant something. It was powerful enough to show their love, I only wish that I had enocuntered that... it would have been amazing if that had been my first experience...
But on a less personal level i enjoyed your writing for the fact that I never focused on the words. I felt. I moved. I watched. the story unfolded before and the magic of your written voice carried me to a world where the time had no meaning to it. Thank you. I needed that respite. I hope that you do keep writing. Not just because it is great writing but also because I read everything you wrote about writing and it sounds to be a part of you.
This will go on my favorites a the first Edward/Bella story. I like your Bella. and thank you for leaving Bells to Jacob.
I'm going to keep reading, then I'm going to go and write because finally my characters will have room to speak to me... Congratulations on the success that I know will be yours.
Truly,
Lys

Title: Chapter 38: Chapter 38:Twilight
Nice.
Thanks for writing a Bella that wasn't a pansy.
I never did like that Bella always let Edward control her... and you put it like it was... I honestly think this chapter should have ended at the part where Izzy leaves Edward to deal with Esme, sort of keeps it sweet and makes you laugh in the same way as the name thing at the end, but Edward was always making a big deal about the name thing too so I feel like he wouldn't have made that mistake... Your characters so you know, but I just feel like that would have been truer... if that makes sense.
However, thank you so much for writing this...
Sorry i never commented before.

Title: Chapter 23: Epilogue: In Which We've Come a Long Way
I know it's late, but I don't really care. I suppose it doesn't matter if you don't read this... as I imagine a lot of my comments are like that... Long and annoying but otherwise ignored and only posted for my sanity.
I read your story because it was BellaxJasper and I almost stopped, but I'm glad I didn't. You have an uncanny ability to write what people really feel, and still protray how they really act. That's not an ability many writers have, even best-sellers. I know that part of that may be people helping you write about the depression, but it wasn't just with that... so I know that's it's your writing. Bella's reactions alone have inspired me, in a weird way, to find someone that will accept me.
You're right, though, sometimes it just doesn't work, and there's no real reason why... it just doesn't. But i hope i just know when it's right... Hopefully it won't be too complicated--I have a flair for complicated.
I have recently been reading Loose Girl by Kerry Cohen (I think that's her last name), if you haven't you should. It's a memoir about a girl that is addicted to male attention and it highlights a lot of the issues that you talked about in here, and it also spoke to me. I have not always been a fan of Bella, or here "pushover" ways, but you made it work. You showed another side of her. Congrats on that.
On a more personal level. I know that you have gotten a lot of people talking about their fights with depression, and I liked especially that you didn't "cure" Jasper. You can't cure it. That's a reality that I have to deal with everyday... I am still struggling now to be able to talk about it ever-- I go in extremes, talking about it up front so that I never have to talk about it again, so that people never ask how I feel and I can continue feeling horrible, or never talking about it all. I think that you captured that sturggle, I don't imagine that I am alone, but I think that it's hard to see from the outiside. Your writing has made me realize that I do need to go to group again. Even if I feel like I have control on my life again. I need this stability, if not because I need to talk about then because I need to know that other people can talk to me. I need to know that I can be trusted. Somehow I have always been there for other people without being there for me too, it would be nice to be able to do both again, to be able to take care of myself while helping people...
I'm sorry for the rambling... I'm sure that you've gotten a lot of people talking like this, but I wanted to say one thing in particular. If nothing else, remember this. I will never forget how I felt when I read, "he's about as observant as a dehydrated starfish..." That made my day, my week... I know it's small, but it made me laugh and I've found that when you find something that you are connected to like I was connected to this... that one thing, will always make you happy-- that line will always make me smile...
Thanks,
for the story, the laughs, the time you spent, and for making a difference in me, and hopefully how people see addiction and depression.
Always,
Stkrwildme.
Rayne.

Title: Chapter 32: Chapter 32 - Fate's Decision
thanks... i keep reading this story... I can't help it. I erally like that you gave Edward time to let go of things... i know I commented before but i just wanted to comment again... sounds weird, but your writing has inspired a story in me... and I wanted you to know that. Thank you... you gave me a story during writer's block and made it possible for me to let go and just let my mind be.

Title: Chapter 32: Chapter 32 - Fate's Decision
thanks. It was beautiful. I really like that imprinting idea. I always thought about it that way, but what about Leah and Sam? He imprinted even though he was in love with Leah... or is it just the Imprintee that has to be unattached?
I don't know that entered my mind long after i felt all the wamr fuzzies about bella and Jake being together in that way.
Wonderful.

Title: Chapter 1: Chapter 1 He's with Amy
I absolutely loved reading this... you need to write more. Seriously. You have a flow going in the chapters that is impossible to resist.
Keep writing.
Author's Response: I'm so glad you enjoyed my story. I wish I could write more AND more quickly. Unfortunately I am a piddling slow poke as everyone else can attest. The first draft of Chapter 7 and 8 are done. I've got to get them back for rewrites and questions and then 7 will go in the queue.
Thanks so much for leaving me a review. You've actually reviewed Chapter 1, but I'm assuming you've read more since you talked about the chapters you've read, so I emailed you a sneak peek at Chapter 7. If you don't want it, just delete it and if you didn't get it, let me know and I'll resend. :)

Title: Chapter 7: Chapter 7 American Werewolves in Italy
Lol... I absolutely love Leah. I think she's great... most people give her a bad wrap... but she makes my day.
Author's Response: Hey Lys! I love Leah, too. I think your idea of a rules chapter is great. God knows how long it would take me to write 257 rules, though! (Leah is very opinionated. ;) Thanks for the review, sweetie!

Title: Chapter 5: Chapter 5: It's coming at all sides
I have to wonder, are the Cullens ever going to take Izzy seriously as a vampire... as a human she killed a vampire, she's one of the most knowledgable there about the werewolves, and she could keep up with them before she was changed... doesn't that mean that they should respect her? They respected the human... I think there might be a little bit of a disconnect there... but otherwise I love it.
Write! Congrats on the baby girl!
And keep the Izzy-Emmet friendship a key in this one too, she needs a special bond... or maybe this one should be about how Jasper or Rose becomes especially bonded to Izzy... keep it true (like what alice said when Izzy was dying in the last story)
All the Best.
