Summary:  Edward is a 27-year-old alcoholic/addict struggling with his recovery. Bella is a 23-year-old who's moved back home after college. This fic chronicles how they meet, fall in love, and struggle with the complexities of their relationship. Not nearly as maudlin as it sounds (I hope).
Rated NC-17 for graphic (and sometimes non-romantic) sex, drug and alcohol use and abuse, profane language, and brief (very brief) suicidal ideation (although NO suicide attempts). No sexual assault, no cutting.

First time I've left a review, I think, though I've been lurking in the shadows for quite some time.
Didn't Edward JUST say to Bella about never having been "punished" for his misdeeds? Well, he's apparently decided to punish himself now, I guess.
Except he's punishing her now, too.
I wonder how long until he decides to numb the subsequent pain with chemical substances? Although I hope he won't, "hope" is not a course of action.

Not that I don't have my suspicions, but I wonder what TRULY provoked Edward's binge of this lifestyle this time. I mean, after all -- it was HIS decision to end things with Bella; HE told her to leave.
And this binge seemed to have MUCH worse than what we read when this story began. I mean, at least then, it seemed as though he still had furniture and the basics of life, right? Whereas now -- he's even gonna lose his place to live.
Guess loving Bella did a number on him, huh?

WOW -- it's been almost five YEARS since Edward thrashed her heart? Yeah . . . wow.
So, I'm guessing, since it's been that long, that Bella has finished her schooling and has some kind of real job by now. Cuz it's not mentioned or anything in this chapter. Just kinda curious as to what she's doing.
And I am SO beyond glad that Bella & Jake didn't stay together, cuz I'm a consummate Jacob-hater. Forever. Yep. Hate. Him.

Can't believe that it's over. And no epilogue? How're we supposed to know whether or not they "work"? *sigh* Oh, well. Guess it'll just be one of life's mysteries that's never solved, or something like that.
I have thoroughly enjoyed this fic, even though I've rarely left a comment.
I'm sad to see these two go. Kinda like good friends moving away or something, ya know?

Summary: *INDEFINITE HIATUS*
All through high school, Bella was in love with her best friend who was in love with her, too. Both never expressing their feelings and never knowing how the other felt. In the end, Edward decided to go across the other side of the country leaving Bella with only one memory of him: his journal. Heart-broken and confused by it’s content, she casted it aside. Years later, Edward moves back home, but Bella wants to move on with her life. Can they really stay away from each other, or will history repeat itself?

Edward has a roommate and Bella doesn't, yet Bella's gonna move in with Edward in his apartment? What, with Jasper there, too? LOL
I'm not completely sure that I understand why Bella bolted from Edward's apartment like she did -- especially considering it was right after Edward had told her that he loves her. Silly girl.
The ILYs -- totally understand. But, really -- they've only been an official couple for a week or so (unless I've lost track of time in this fic) so the moving in together . . . yeah, me no understandy.
I wonder why Emmett needed condoms? (Or were we not supposed to have "caught that"?)

Is it just me, or does the idea that Emmett would be sending email pictures of Bella to Edward while at the same time telling Edward that he won't give to him Bella's contact information not quite make sense?
It's almost as if Emmett knew exactly how both Bella & Edward felt about each other without either of them saying anything. Except -- that doesn't really make much sense either, huh? Emmett's far too clueless.

Holy whirlwind of what-the-f**k, Batman!!
Why the hell would Tanya be suddenly showing up in LA? And who was sending pictures of Bella to Edward over the past seven years?
I realize that Bella had a "hidden key" to her apartment that Alice would've probably known about -- but for Alice to root through Bella's things to find that journal is just WRONG!!!
Actually, just about everything that has gone wrong since Edward returned to LA has been Alice's fault. So I hope she's good & punished for it at some point.
But -- I wonder WHY Edward never returned Bella's email? There's gotta be a reason there.

Well, we know that Jasper knows Edward's full side of the story -- does Alice really know Bella's whole story? We know that Alice knows that Bella was all torn up when Edward left for school, but did Alice ever know that Bella was in love with her brother? I'm just not sure....
But what I am sure of is the fact that, if Jasper & Alice each DID know the full story of one side of this bitterness, then they could tell each other what they know, work together to "fix it" -- to get Bella & Edward together.
Although, that would be entirely too perfect.

OH! So Bella never actually read the journal -- at least, not all of it.
Which leads me to believe that, if she had, she'd have "gotten the picture", so to speak -- cuz I'm guessing that the entirety of the poetry was about her?
Strange that both Bella & Edward say that they were "close" to the other in high school, that they were each best friends with the other one's sibling -- yet they didn't stay in touch AT ALL. There's gotta be a reason WHY neither one contacted the other....
