Oh please let Bella go all crazy on Jacob!!! I love how you wrote him! Really brought out the "jerk-ish-ness" of him. Keep up the good job and I can't WAIT to see Bella go off on Jacob for being so stupid! Author's Response: Hahaha - thanks. Have no fear, if/when Bella wakes up she'll definitely have a few choices words for both Jacob and Edward over their behavior. “I know I smelled an open wound, Bella,” Alice said sternly. Behind her, Carlisle and Edward exchanged a look.
Bella scoffed slightly. “Believe me, I felt it,” she told her as she tried to stand.

Bella stared at him for a moment, a bitter expression overcoming her features. “There’s something for me to understand?”

Edward grinned lopsidedly. “Indeed, we do,” he replied.

“You’re funny,” Edward said dryly. “I bet you wouldn’t be saying the same thing if you were the one who turned up missing.”
“Are you trying to scare me, Mr. Cullen?” Bella asked as she snapped a picture.

"Bella, listen to me,” he tried coaxing her gently.
“No!” Bella shouted, pulling her arms out of his grip. “I never want to see you again. Stay away from me,” she said through clenched teeth, and no matter what she did, she couldn’t stop the tears from falling.

He cupped her face with both hands while looking into her eyes. “If you don’t find me, who’s killed before, whose diet consists of blood, repulsive, how can I look at you in that way?” he asked her softly.

"What kind of man are you?!” Bella pushed and slapped his chest as she raged. She was becoming unhinged.

“Bella, don’t come,” her mother said weakly. “Whatever he says, don’t come—”
“No! That’s not what you’re supposed to say!” a voice exclaimed in the background.
A tear escaped Bella’s eye as she listened to her mother’s cries as he hit her.

Edward nodded. “You’re safe now, Bella,” he told her tenderly as he softly massaged her cheek.

Is it a little shorter than the others?
It will be highly interesting to see what the Cullens will do! Whether it will be Carlisle or Edward that comes back to talk to the nomad or if another Cullen will come. It would be interesting to see Caroline's reaction to another Cullen!
Anyways--enough rambling from me. Really enjoyed it (yep--it's addictive) and keep up the great work! Author's Response: This chapter is somewhat shorter than some of the others. I wanted to end it on an exciting note... ;) Since I write an entire story before beginning to post, I sometimes have trouble deciding where to create chapter breaks, which occasionally results in a briefer chapter. Out of curiosity--have you read the story "The Cullen Camping Trip" (I think that's the title)? Your story reminds me of it in many ways.
