In her junior year of high school, Bella Swan was days away from moving to Forks, WA.  Fate intervened, and she never made the move.  Now entering her second year at Emerson College in Boston, Bella is passionate, smart . . . and desperately lonely.

Meanwhile, Edward Cullen is empty after years of slogging through the charade of life.  In Alaska following his latest round of high school hell, he spends most of his time avoiding his family and their pitying thoughts.  Seeking a change of pace, he enrolls at MIT and makes his way to the east coast the summer before school begins.  When he catches the scent of his singer on the air, he follows it—and her—to his destiny.
