Hey! That chapter was short, but there was nothing wrong with it! It moved the action from the farm to Edward's place which was a logicl step. I am sorry that you did not think this was an adequate chapter, but i liked it! Please don't beat yourself up!

Wow! Girl, you are building up the suspense BIG time! Good chapter!! I will be really glad for longer chapters like you promised!
I didn't think about the house burning, but I guess that wasn't really a surprise, huh? Those baddies are really BAD! I can't wait to find out WHY they are so hateful to Bella!
Wait! Did Bella lose a lot of Carly's things in the fire??

WHOA! That was unexpected! Even with the last line of the last chapter, I didn't realize that there was REALLY a baby! I hope you will be telling more about that and who these mystery people are and how Alice was involved with the bad guys. And where did Carly come from? Did Alice give her to Bella?
YOU ARE AMAZING! You give out more info but keep the truth hidden all the time. That is very impressive! You will have to write a realy novel some day!

I have to recommend this story --"Not Like This" by pomme_de_terre on Twilighted. It is another take on Edward leaving Bella, all human. I have not finished reading it yet, but it is totally unbelievable so far! So much emotion! Edward is crushed! And Bella.....you have to read it to see!

"James knew where I was," I gasped. "All this time, he let me think I was hiding from him...getting the best of him. But he knew. He knew enough to leave her where I would find her. "

I was lost for a moment in the smoldering green eyes. Then, as his hand retreated from my skin, I realized what he just said.
"What? Why? He doesn't know I'm here..."
I am a little confused. First Bella said James knew where she was, and she was shocked. It seems she was right since the baby showed up at her house. But then she says, "He doesn't know I'm here..." Please explain for me! I am not grasping!
What are "tracks"?
Good chapter! Still mysteries to be explained! I know you will make it all clear for me! Keep up the good work!

"Tracks" refer to the marks some people get after they abuse drugs, particularly heroin.

WOW! I wasn't expecting the ending like that, but it was RIGHT! And I am so glad about the fate of that gun -- I was really worried about a loaded gun! I have seen too many episodes of Barney shooting his gun at the wrong time on Andy Griffith show!
Author's Response: Yeah...the gun was a problem, wasn' it? I couldn't get past how unwise it is for any woman to go off with a man they don't know...and yet, I wanted to convey that there was something between these two that made her trust him. And Edward, being so protective, wouldn't want her to take any risks...hence the scene where he gives her the gun. But I think he underestimates Bella--she can take care of herself, and she doesn't need his loaded gun to do it. Thanks so much for reading and reviewing!

Oooo, that chapter was SO hot! Edward seemed more experienced than he described, but I think I know why!
"I'd fantasized about us. And I had...I'd pictured us over and over again in the most compromising pleasurable positions, situations, locations... When one doesn't sleep, you had a lot of time to devote to these kinds of thoughts. "---> That is true, and fantasies can be pretty awesome! But Edward had the added luxury/burden of hearing others thoughts about lovemaking, (Can anyone say Emmett??) Add to that the time he had to contemplate things, and he had to know what he was doing!
Keep on writing! There are so many places in the books that you can fit in a lemon for our entertainment!
Author's Response: Edward, whether he's wanted to or not, has been exposed to people's and vampire's thoughts for over a century. Despite being a gentleman, I would think that he'd naturally be curious, and pay attention to some of what he sees. I don't buy that theory that Vampward would be clueless in bed...he's had way too much second-hand experience for that, haha. I'm sure he'd know what to do, but the actually doing it part is where it has the potential to be awkward!
