I did not understand this comment. Are closing arguments give right before the case goes to jury? Bella is going to testify: " Bella isn't allowed in the courtroom until after closing arguments. "

None the witnesses or the victims will be allowed to be in the courtroom when the others testify.  They won't be allowed back in until after all testimony has been given and all evidence has been presented.  After the closing arguments, the judge will give the jury instructions and then the jury will be excused to deliberate.  This could take several hours or several days.  The witnesses and the victims will be allowed back in the courtroom to hear the verdict.

Hooray!!! Face to face time! I can't anticipate where you are taking this story (happy place, I am expecting), but I love seeing B & E finally together!

Great story. Only think that I don't find "believable" is that Bella would invite Edward to her apartment, just the two of them, so soon. She has been so messed up for a long time.

Now as to the penalty; I doubt that in a situation like this that the counsel would exonerate E completely. What I predict is that E loses his license for a certain length of time, like 2 years, but then it will be reinstated. However, in the meantime, E & B start a business in her field which takes off and E never goes back to practicing law. That is my guess, but I await your conclusion as the all knowing author!

I'm a Southern girl... of course I'm not making fun!  Edward is a life-long resident of Washington state.  "Ya'll" would be funny to him with it coming out of Alice's mouth.

Wow! This story gets more and more intense - except I guess the suicide was the most intense.
