So... I'm Sophy, and I hate writing profiles about myself, so that's pretty much all you're getting out of me right now.

I like fanfiction. I write it, I enjoy it, I read it, and I'm so grateful I stumbled across it however many years ago it was - it's saved me from boredom and I've made so many amazing friends because of it.

Summary: Charlotte Monroe is a typical 17 year old who never expected to fall in love with a fictional character, but after reading Twilight, she found herself head over heels for Edward Cullen. When Charlotte goes on vacation to Charleston, SC, her life turns upside down at the discovery that the characters she read about aren't fiction, but fact. She can't help but fall in love with the real Edward Cullen, even with the knowledge that he is meant for someone else - someone who lives in the small town of Forks, Washington. Can she work up the nerve to let the love of her life go, or will she get caught up in The Moment of Truth? Story begins Pre-Twilight and goes through the wedding in Breaking Dawn.

This is something new and unexpected! What a cool idea to make the vampires actually exist!

I really like what you've done so far - I was about to go to bed (It was 3.40AM here at the time) but I saw this story and thought I might as well read it, thinking I'd read one chapter and then stop. Yeah, that failed.

So now it's 4.10AM, I've read all of your chapters so far and I'm absolutely hooked!

I hope you can find the time to write another chapter soon - I can't wait to see if a certain gorgeous vampire puts Charlotte's open window to good use!

Yay! Edward seems to be really taking to the fatherly role - he and Chris are soooo cute together.

Hm.... Did Chris have a vision? It sounds kinda like he's able to replicate people's powers, but only use them on the person he got them from, which is interesting.

I really like this story - it's a breath of fresh air from some of the more serious ones that are around at the moment =]

Wow.

I loved that. I'm a sucker for Pride & Prejudice so I think you picked the perfect novel for her to read to him - It made the whole thing just seem complete. It was all sweet, heartfelt and so very Edwardly - it was almost as if the man himself was speaking.

It's interesting that you chose to do this as a monologue - they aren't that common anymore but I really liked it!

Thank you - I enjoyed reading that =)

Author's Response:

Thanks so much.  I was worried about how people would react to a monologue, but I felt that I wanted it to be pure Edward, just his words.

Edward is a lonely vampire who has been waiting for over eighty years to find his soul mate.  His sister Alice has never been able to see his true love, but for good reason--she hadn't been born yet.  When Alice finally sees her, plans are made to finally make Edward's dream come true.

This is a different version of Twilight, and it's told from Edward's point of view.

A little lemony, but not too graphic.  Rated NC-17 for mature themes and language, and possibly for violence in later chapters.

Ooooh, I like this already!

I hate Mike Newton and the rivalry between him and Edward is pretty cool. I hope Bella realises her and Edward are destined to be together soon.

Update soon!

Author's Response:

I like the rivalry thing too.  Bella doesn't learn about being Edward's soul mate for another few chapters.  That sort of requires some background, which would include being truthful about having gifts and possibly about bein a vampire.  So just hang on--it will happen.

Aaaah!!!

I love how the relationship between the vampire and Bella has developed. He seems to find comfort in her presence, and I can't help but smile whenever there's a scene between them.

I really want this antidote to work - the poor vampire shouldn't be hurting like this. It's cruel. I want to rip apart whoever did this to him and burn the pieces.

The ending made my heart race. Bella's so protective of her vampire, and in a way I think he's protective of her too. They're like a little team =]

The last line was very powerful, by the way. I liked it.

I can't wait for the next chapter - this story is so interesting and your writing style is amazing.

Ooooh! I'm going to miss basementward! But hey, bedroomward's getting healthier and more comfortable so I'm cool with it =]

This story is perfectly paced, it's not too fast, and it's not too drawn out and slow - every chapter leaves me wanting more.

I'm glad Alice's visions are finally clearing up - at least people can have more faith in what she says now, and maybe begin to realise that (at the moment, at least) its perfectly ok for Bella to be around Edward.

Loved Jasper's POV by the way. His insight into how Edward and Bella feel really showed a lot about them.

I can't wait for Edward to finally speak - I'm hoping that he says 'Bella', 'Stay', or 'Thank you', but I bet you'll surprise us with something beautiful as usual.

Rosalie (as she does in the books) annoyed me with her stupid overprotectiveness. Argh. Very in character though - reminds me of her in BD.

I'm probably rambling now, but this story just makes me think about things a lot and I come out with all kinds of stuff. Oh well.

Oooh that reminds me - The characters you have are really well developed, and they are really in character. It's rare for that to happen this well in fanfiction.

My favourite part of the chapter has got to be in the bedroom - when Edward tried to turn his head I wanted to cry with happiness!

Anyway, I've gone on for long enough, so I'll stop now =]

Can't wait for the next chapter - this story is beautiful and I love it!

Sophy x

Author's Response:

Yes, basementward is on the mend, it had to happen eventually! Only so many chapters of sittin in the corner growling before people started revolting against VITB :)

I'm glad the pacing works for you :) And.. we can hope that Alice'll realize that!

JPOV is my favorite pov to write, so I definitely have some love there. It shows emotions that are pretty fuckin siginicant and maybe not ready to be seen, but that's part of jasper's life :)

I'm so nervous about the vamp finally speaking! ahh!

Rosalie annoys everyone, but yeah, I built off her BD characterization which I especially hated :P

I'm rambling too (and if you didn't notice, my lines are in correllation with yours, if that helps this response make sense)

I'm glad you like the character development! It's AU so there are some differences, but mostly I just built on what SM gave us :)

Glad you enjoyed this one! thanks for the review

Oh my God.

You have no idea how happy this chapter just made me! I loved it!

I'm so glad that Bedroomward is getting better - Part of me doesn't want him to heal just yet for fear of the unknown, but when you write stuff as beautiful as this:

The sun was lower in the sky still, the trees just beginning to obscure the bottom of it. As my vampire watched the sunset, I watched him. His dark eyes mirrored the falling sun while the blank expression I had grown so used to, began to soften. It wasn’t a smile, but it was close.

I can't help feeling like everything is going to be okay.

I'm not sure if I'm over-joyed or upset that Nakedward is no longer naked - I'm going to miss him. I totally agree with your reasons in the author's notes, by the way. The third reason is my favourite one... I wonder why.

Anyways, this was an amazing chapter (as expected), and it was beautifully written (as always), and I can't wait for the next chapter (no suprises there).

Thank you.

Sophy x

Author's Response:

Haha I'm glad you liked this one.  It's the first time he's acting proactively so it's definitely huge for him!

Getting him clothed is bittersweet as well. This process of.. making him "man" again, rather than whatever he was treated before, is a bumpy road, but i think getting him clothed is an important step that had to happen at some point :)

Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God! *Insert squeal here*

That was amazing.

I'm so so so so glad that Edward's finally able to communicate with Bella. At first I was thinking aaah will he won't he, and then he did and I smiled incredibly goofily and got given strange looks from everyone else in the room.

So, between speaking, nodding, walking, being bathed, and initiating contact with Bella's cheek to wipe away her tears, I think its safe to say that Bedward is well on his way to recovery.

Now that Alice seems to have worked out Edward's ability, I think it'll be much easier for them to deal with him as well as allow Edward to see that they truly do not mean him any harm.

This chapter was beautiful, and I can't wait for the next one.

Something tells me that it's going to be even better.

Sophy xox

Author's Response:

Yes, bedward is definitely getting there, he's still got a ways to go though.

And I agree - knowing his ability will help them get him to trust them, help them get him to cooperate, gah!  It'll be helpful :)

I hope the next one is better, but this was one of those packed chapters, so we'll see!

Thanks again,

Date: April 21, 2009 Title: Chapter 13: The Balcony

Eeeep!!

This chapter was a big (and pleasant) surprise, I have to say. I didn't expect Edward to speak so much so soon, but somehow the pacing is still perfect. I don't know how you do it, seriously.

So, now Basementward/Bedward finally has a name for Bella to put to the face, I'm hoping that the Cullens will start referring to him as Edward. I think that would make Edward feel more... Like he is somebody who is cared for instead of a series of numbers that gets tested on (or whatever happened in that place).

I wonder what's up with the Cullens... Something's definately not quite right between them, but I can't place what. Hopefully it's nothing too bad...

Is it weird that I felt a little tearful when Edward told his story to Bella? It's obviously hard for him to trust anybody, but he trusted her enough to tell her, even though he won't speak to anyone else... The two of them help each other, and the bond between them is sort of like (but not restricted to, by any means) a two way need.

Edward needs her to recover from his past, and she needs him too - somehow, I don't think that anybody else would listen to her speaking about her day or any of the things she tells him, and in some ways she seems to need him to trust her.

Some may say the pacing is too slow, but when you think about it, Edward and Bella's relationship has been built up realistically, and Edward's progress is just right - Edward isn't just magically going to get better, and it takes time to build up somebody's trust to any level, let alone to the extent Edward seems to trust Bella.

Anyway, I've babbled on enough, so I'll stop now =]

As I always say, this chapter was amazing and beautiful and I loved reading every word of it.

I think the spacing between each chapter is perfect, by the way - it's not so long that people get bored waiting, but not too short that there's no suspense.

So, on that note - I look forward to reading the next chapter =]

Sophy xx

Author's Response:

I think the being well fed was certainly helpful to getting him to open up -- restoring his physical strength, his brain power, yanno? (if you understand what I'm saying -- kudos).

No, that's not weird, his story sucks. And he has a really hard time trusting her, and he's finally starting to, and it just sucks.

Awwww!

Poor Edward. It must have been hard for him to hear about his parents and not be able to remember them =(

Everything would have changed so much since he was last free, so I guess everything is new for him now, especially if the place he was held captive only had computers and things to analyse him or whatever. That might explain the fear of the laptop, and possibly why he liked the books so much - they're old, and possibly familiar with some of them?

I really loved this chapter - Bella sleeping in Edward's arms... That was amazing, even though my heart broke a little when she moved too fast and he asked her not to hurt him =( Hopefully he won't be so scared in the future - it must be so hard for Bella as well as him. I don't think Edward wants to recoil from her - its just an automatic reaction.

Anyway, congratulations for making the top 5 (I think you're number 4 at the moment), you deserve it - this fic is fabulous!

Looking forward to the next chapter, as always.

Woah!

So much happened in this chapter!!! I think I just fell in love with Sparkleward!

I love the way you wrote this entire thing, it's kinda hard to pick a favourite scene this time round, which is a first! I was wondering whether Bella would still sleeptalk or not, and Edward's reaction was very sweet =]

I'm so glad he's beginning to trust Carlisle a little now, and that they are all trusting him more. It pains me to imagine everyone's reactions to him laying his head over her heart (if Alice shared that with them), but hopefully now they'll see that maybe Edward isn't as much as a threat to Bella as they first thought.

I really like how Edward and Bella's relationship is developing. It's fabby.

Big shocker that Edward wasn't held captive by vampires!!! How the hell did whatever took him manage to get a vampire into capivity, a newborn one at that. Even if they took him whilst he was changing, surely he's still be stronger than them.... Unless they were neither human nor vampire....

I can't believe the review count slipped for the last chapter! I loved that one!

Hopefully the reviews will go up again after this amazing chapter. I know I say this every time, but this chapter has been the best so far.

I can't wait for more (but I will, because I'm patient like that).

Right, I haven't fully read this story, but I am going to, I promise.

I just wanted to say that I've read some of your reviews from people who seem to claim that they know better than you, the author, as they are from Britain, and are nit picking about things which aren't really issues, in my opinion.

I am British - born and raised in the South of England, and just want to say that it's fucking fine if Rob eats scones for breakfast. I eat scones for breakfast sometimes - they're fucking nice, let me tell you. I have afternoon tea sometimes as well, so does that make me weird? No. It doesn't.

Rob went to a private school, for God's sake... He's from a decent area, and these sorts of things do occur. Please don't bother changing any of your work just because somebody claims to know better. Maybe I'm an anomaly and abnormal, but fuck.... I'm proof that they aren't always right.

Also, what's fucking wrong with marmalade and scones? Any jam with scones is absolutely GORGEOUS. Maybe that's cause I have a sweet tooth... maybe it's because I'm the 0.01% of Brits who are 'abnormal'.

So there.

I apologise for my little rant, but I'm just fucking fed up with people nit picking about shit which doesn't even matter. Do these people know Rob? No.

It's a piece of fiction, and some people just need to fucking realise that, so you just keep doing what you're doing, bb. You are clearly doing LOTS of things right, judging by your reviews. Your readers clearly love what you're doing, so don't change it.

That is all.

Author's Response:

Thanks so much for the review and rating Sophy!

I love every review i receive, whether it is fluffy or angry, or critical.

i understand your point. i have no issues about people calling me on things that may directly pull them from the story because of inconsistencies or errors. i welcome it.

I also welcome the strong allegiance that the readers and writers on this site have towards one another... It makes me proud to be part of this community when we can help one another out, offer advice, and even kick one another in the ass for being wrong or stupid or silly.

I love that about here, which is why i post here rather than FFN.

Would Rob eat scones in the morning, maybe- maybe not... yes he did in my story. and I am glad someone spoke up and said maybe that's not the norm in general.... i love that. It's like if someone had edward living in chicago and he ate his hot dog with ketchup (SOOOO not viewed as the norm in Chicago- but maybe he's just weird...) or ketchup and eggs.. shudder...

It is a piece of fiction...so alot of anything goes applies.  and to my lovely readers- I want the suspension of belief to be plausible for you. I work hard to make this story something real enough that we can imagine it.... I hope I do a good job at it... and it's only through the reviews i receive that i know whether i am on the right track...

So critique me, say nice things.say bad things,  say i ruined it for you... tell me you don't envision Rob that way... i love getting that info from you. It makes me want to try harder!

And I love you,Sophy for standing up for me, for having my back... I know there's a lot of shit going on right now that is hurting this  community of readers/writers/and fellow writers that needs to be dealt with. So I love that you have my back.

I need to get started on your story and I apologize for not getting there yet... i've been a little sidetracked!

love ya girl!

Unnnff.

Okay, first of all, that dream fucking killed me. Guhhh. I bet she wishes she didn't have an alarm clock, huh?

Second, The Office is fuckhawt, so props to you for having good taste in fics. Oh, and McMuffins and Hash Browns kick ass, so even more props for that, even though you've made me really crave some right now... Damnit.

Finally... Where do I begin? Rob coming in all freaked out, the paps and screamers waiting outside... Gah, I hate those fuckers. Even so, how lucky is Jennifer to have that happen? I mean, Jesus.... What I wouldn't give to be locked in a room with Rob... *thud*

I apologise for the delay in reviewing and shit, but I literally have a queue of 70 fics to read, and it seems to keep growing and growing *facepalm*. Also, it's almost 3AM here, so I'm sorta out of it, so sorry if none of that was even remotely coherent!

Loved it so far - can't wait to read the next chapter =D

Summary:

An old, dilapidated hospital residing in the outskirts of Forks, Washington, sits untouched - other than being the occasional setting of a teenage party. Everyone knows the rumors, and it's because of those rumors rebellious teens are lured there. They want to be the first to spy the young man who supposedly lives inside its walls, the man who's either a ghost or crazed maniac that murders those courageous enough to enter the building.

No one has ever seen him, or at least no one that's ever lived to tell the tale. But it's all just rumors, right? Well, Bella Swan is about to find out.

Gah, fuck me sideways.

This chapter kills me. Just seeing Edward's progress, however slight it may be... It makes me so fucking proud of him and Bella. It's obvious how much she's starting to care about him, but also obvious how blind she is to it.

That's incredible, bb, to be able to do that when you're writing a first person narrative. Really fucking brilliant.

You know how behind I am with reviews for you, and as much as I'd love to sit here and write thousands of words of praise, I'll end up repeating myself too much, so I'll stop now and move on to the next chapter!

I love you very much, wifey.
