Summary: It has been 8 long years since Edward left Bella on their wedding day. Bella has finally come back to Forks to visit Charlie, only to find that Edward has also returned, and he has been keeping a big secret from her.

This Edward is so much more mature than I've seen him elsewhere - so much more willing and able to let Bella make her own decisions... I like him so much!
I'm not jealous that Bella has to do this with Pete when she sees him, but it is brave and right for her to do it in person. Good job. I hope though, that he doesn't go psycho on her.

Thank you for reading and reviewing. Seriously, thank you for this review. I really wanted to change Bella and Edward, just slightly, to make them better suited for one another. I think in tne original series Edward was too controlling and Bella was too weak. If Edward was going to leave again, as he did in my story, both of them were going to have to change to make the relationship work. Edward was going to have to give up control and Bella was going to have to fight for some control. I'm glad you noticed. :)

Swoon!
So this conversation went as well as it possibly could. Thank you for the response to my last coment, and I have this to add to it - I'm glad Bella slept with Pete. It really proves that she was finally trying to make a new place for herself, and I'm proud of her for that. But also, I'm proud of Edward for not going Victorian on her and freaking out.

You are very welcome for the reply. I try to reply to everyone, although my story has received massive amounts of response in the past few chapters both here and on FF. Seriously chapter 12 and 13 on FF would receive 20 - 30 reviews per chapter, then chapter 15 receives 50 some reviews, and then for chapter 16 I received almost 200. It is ridiculous, but really nice. I posted chapter 17 only a few hours ago, and I have recieved almost 100 reviews already. I really appreciate the feedback, and will still do my best to respond to everyone, it just might take me a while.

Thanks for reading and reviewing. I love Alice too! Ok this is an absolute true story, I wrote the girl as being Jessica because that is my real name. But Robert - that was a total accident. I was trying to come up with a name that sounded kind of old fashioned, like Edward, but could be a modern name as well. I was doing name searches for popular boy's names - and Robert has been in the top 20 for the past 70 years or something. So I picked it. I wrote this chapter before the Twilight movie came out, but obviously knew Robert Pattinson was playing Edward. I just didn't put two and two together, until after the chapter was posted. Now I feel silly - because I purposely made Jessica be my name. Thanks again.

Edward's first time! Bella's first real time making love! I love how you wrote this - their pauses and inflections... so sweet and sensual.
I am looking forward to 60 years of this love... except now I'm confused. Red eyes? Dark eyes? He bit her? Cold hands?
PLEASE tell me (well don't, it would probably ruin things) that they're going to turn BACK into vampires, and he's going to bite Bella, and they'll live happily ever after, forever and ever. A girl can dream. Author's Response: Hi

This chapter is so good, and so important (if my hunches are right, anyway)
1. With the friends - Edward handled himself nicely, and I'm glad that Emma didn't immediately trust him. She is a good friend.
2. Our child? I'm so scared about the "re-vamping"... what if they never get to have children? Oh dear.
3. I wish I could SEE the Cullens with all their aging and changes... I am sure that they're stiill all so beautiful.
4. Edward's pinching his nose. I think I'm right.

I am hoping somehow against hope that this cardiac arrest is like a pause in Bella's changing. If there isn't some kind of light at the end of this tunnel, I'll be so sad!

I also have questions about how this will affect the treaty with the pack. At this point, they don't know about the wolves, but the wolves surely know about them. Will there be consequences?

To be immortal - to stake your life on the hopes and dreams of a girl who appears out of nowhere - this experience will break Edward.
