Summary:

We all believe that Edward and Bella are meant to be together...but what if there’s more to that than meets the eye?

What if there are forces at work that they don’t understand? How will they cope with events that have no discernable meaning?

This story starts out two weeks before Bella and Edward’s wedding. But, right away, things go wrong. They struggle with mishap after mishap, all the while wondering if they’re destined to be at the center of conflict and angst.

All the major characters of Twilight appear. Canon couples. Lemons in various chapters. This is a more realistic view of Edward and Bella’s relationship before the wedding. He certainly wouldn’t carry her off to a desert island alone, having never even touched her. They would have experimented a bit.

Eventually all characters get their Happily Ever After. I just drag them through hell before we get there. No characters die before their time.

And I’ve adhered to canon up until the story starts—Post Eclipse. After that, it diverges from SM’s version. So...no Renesmee. No pregnancy.

I’ve poured my heart and soul into this story. It took me over a year to complete. I thought about it constantly. For that hard work and diligence to form, grammar and style, I’d like just one tiny thing from you, the reader.

I’d like a review. If you love it, if you hate it, if you’re just indifferent and will never look at it again, I’d like to hear that. It’s not a lot to ask. So...I’ll say thanks in advance for the wonderful reviews you’ll leave after you read each chapter!

There are multiple parts of Charlie.  There is the part that wants to know it all.  Another part that only wants to know Bella will be happy and safe with Edward.  Another part that wants to remain in his happy ignorance state.  Still another that only wants to know enough to not truly understand.  Bella said she can't explain to him afraid for the danger to Charlie.  Still confusing.  Bella mentioned Edward pushed the vehicle away with his hand.  Charlie's thinking what does that mean.  We all know it means the Cullens are vampires.  Extremely strong, fast, immortal, cold blooded, and they drink blood to survive.  Not just any blood, but the blood of animals they hunt.  They avoid killing humans to survive.  They have principals and morals.   Sue called once Charlie left the Cullens with a promise if he comes back following day they will be honest and tell him what he wants to know.  Of course they told him whatever he wanted to know they would let him know their big dark secret.  Sue called and questioned if the Cullens told him anything.  He said some things, but not adding up correctly.  Sue promised to tell him all the details he still didn't know yet.  If anyone broke the treaty it was Jacob telling Bella on the beach about the Quiletes being descendents of wolves and the stories of the "Cold Ones".  He gave away the legends and what he thought were stories.  So Edward biting Bella or even the half dead biker didn't break the treaty it was already broken a long time before.  Will Bella walk down the aisle with Charlie or will she walk down alone to met Edward at the altar.  Either way Bella is going to marry Edward.  She has loved him from first site.  No matter the differences or similarities.  Charlie will just have to accept it.  Bella isn't backing down, Edward is all she wants out of life and death. Will be interesting to find out how much information Charlie will want to absorb before his capacity shuts him down.

Author's Response:

Thank you for paying such close attention to the chapter! Did you know that there was going to be a test later?

"Welcome to My Nightmare"  Alice Cooper.

Jacob broke the treaty first.  Yes Edward drinking blood of the biker wasn't the right thing to do.  Also biting Bella's leg wasn't right either.  It was good that Charlie heard the truth from Alice.  At least he cared a lot about her and trusted her.  The information was hard to hear and hard to believe.  Sounded like Charlie knew the legends (rumors) of the area long before Sue tried to educate him about them.  He just didn't believe it was true.  Charlie knew Bella loved Edward.  He saw how she mourned for him while he was away.  She left to rescue him in Italy.  She was only truly happy when she was with Edward.  Charlie had a lot of news thrown at him in a very short amount of time.  Especially without sleep to deal with any of it.  Whether he would show up at the Cullens at 6 pm. would remain a mystery.  Charlie loved Bella above all things.  Her happiness had always been the forefront in his mind.  I believe because Charlie knew Bella loved Edward and wanted to spend her life with him.  He would do what he had to do to make his baby happy and support her in her decision.  He doesn't want to lose her, but that's a subject he could still have time to discuss with her.  Still Sue is bound by her tribe not to discuss their supernatural nature either.  Both sides wanted to force the issue between themselves leaving Charlie and Bella in the middle.  So looking forward to Charlie's decision now that he knew the entire secret of the Cullens.

The flowers were described wonderfully.  I can imagine how they look inside and outside of the house.  Just beautiful.  Curious about what was in the box marked Fragile.  Hoping next chapter will provide that information.  Renee and Phil showing up and Bella's leg in shorts revealed her changing leg.  Renee is observant when you don't want her to be, but unobservant almost flighty at other times.  The question if Charlie will show up or not is still a mystery.  Bella's leg pain is burning now instead of just tingling pins and needles.

One of my favorite lines was "I’m Not Bossy, I Just Know What You Should Be Doing."

I think Edward and Bella should have a T-shirt made for her, so she can wear it when in preparations for her next big party/celebration.  She is bossy, but knows where every thing needs to go and what needs to be done.  Alice is a wonder and a whirlwind.

Bella is worried about her dad's reaction.  She is also wondering if they should let her mom know the truth.  Don't think that would be too wise.

Looking forward to the next chapter.  Getting excited about the actual wedding.

It was great to see how all of the major characters thought of all the changes that occurred once the truth was revealed.  The peace that Charlie found along with imprinting and finding love with Gertrude.  The total contentment of Edward and Bella.  The feelings of accomplishments from helping the people at La Push.  The feelings and thoughts of non fulfillment while traveling all over the world.  The joy of moving home to Forks.  It was great that Jacob was able to find his girl and settle down.  Opening his own auto shop.  Everyone has a happy ending.  I only have one question are the young men of the pack including Charlie still able to phase?

Author's Response:

Thanks for always synopsizing every chapter to perfection. I really appreciate it. I'm glad the story touched you!

Maria

The pack still phased. Charlie says at the end of his bit,

I still phase routinely with the pack. The feeling of freedom and strength eclipses anything I’ve ever experienced. Running with the wind blowing in my face and my heart thundering in my chest makes me feel more alive than I ever thought possible.

Thanks for reading and reviewing and hanging out with me till the end!

Planet alignment causing the problem with the wolves and the vampires with exception of Bella and it appears Charlie.  It was great seeing Charlie phase and threaten those puppy wolves to back off of his daughter.  If they hurt her, they would answer to him as white wolf.  The tension is so high possible war between the wolves and vampires leaving only Bella left when completed.  Have to find some way to stop the violence until after the alignment has passed.  Looking forward to the future chapters.

The reception was a wonderful party.  Appeared everyone enjoyed themselves.  I have to say my favorite part of this chapter was Great Aunt Clara when she went through the receiving line and when she gave Bella the heirloom necklace.  My favorite line was "Such a nice looking young man, Bella! If it were me, I’d have him horizontal every chance I got!"  Go Aunt Clara I agree 100% and I am with you.  Bella implied that was her idea as well.  Shocked Edward.  I don't know why, how many years has he heard women panting and fantasizing about him.   Granted he didn't like it, but that didn't stop them.  The goodbye between Charlie and Bella was beautiful.  Also with Renee, but I think Bella is actually closer to her dad.  I know she will contact him by phone, letter, or maybe email.  Leaving the party to spend their honeymoon at Cedar Inn.

Author's Response:

Bella will  be able to see Charlie again, as he knows about the Cullens. But not her mom. Bella 'hears' something in her mom's head that upsets her. I am bout half done with next chapter. Hopefully by this weekend!

The truth from Charlie was quite a shock.  The wolves were descendents from a vampire cured upon the tribes' land.  The hate between the wolves towards the vampires need to be buried.  Since the vampires are the reason they exist at all.  I still like the fact that Charlie made the wolves stop their attack towards Bella.  Charlie was able to reach Jacob and the others enough for them to return home and wait out the planet alignment.  Old Quil passing away was sad, but he lived to see all the prophesies fulfilled with a contented outcome.  His last words left a lasting impression on Edward.  When the vampires arrived at La Push for the funeral of Old Quil they noticed the way the tribe lived.  They all want to make their lives better.  Repairing/Refurbishing their houses complete with indoor plumbing.  Fixing any medical defect able to be corrected.  Improve and rebuild their medical clinic including have Carlisle spend 1/3 month there helping the people.  Bella wanted to improve their horrid library.  The whole family was in on this project of remodeling homes, fixing vehicles, enriching their lives with medical improvement, greater source of learning/knowledge.  General improving all the tribes' lives.  Instead of just existing having some luxuries as well.  Charlie moving to the reservation and retirement from police force.  It was great they gave Charlie the money from the man that technically killed him.  If Jacob didn't have the power to change Charlie he would have died there.  The Cullens' compassion for the people was amazing. Ending it with Bella and Edward in their hotel room where they spent their honeymoon before complete vampiric change was awesome.  Edward buying Charlie's house to keep it for himself and Bella.  It was just too many memories and events to give it up and allow someone else to change it.  Looking forward to the epilogue(s).

Author's Response:

Thanks for a stunning synopsis. That covered the chapter completely. The epilogue was approved by my prereader and Beta and was uploaded on Friday. Hope it is out soon. Its 6500 words.

Edward is constantly warring inside himself.  Trying to keep the monster at bay and allow the man to love his wife.  Bella becoming bold on her wedding night surprised and delighted him (both entities of himself.)  The storm outside was nothing to the storm within the four walls of their suite.  Edward's mind was rushing through so many different scenarios of what could happen this night.  When the monster rose in his attempt to come to the surface, Edward backed from loving Bella to open the patio door and smell the fresh air outside.  Upon returning into the room he opened the window as well.  Turned on and primed, Edward approached Bella to love his wife.  He knew what he could do and what was forbidden until Bella's change was complete.  The draw of her blood was nearly overpowering to him and calling to him and the especially the monster inside.  He decided he loved his Bella too much to hurt her.  Bella's question of when Edward realized he loved Bella and he asked the same question.  Then he proceeded to love his wife thoroughly.  Appeasing the monster within as well as himself.  Watching and thinking as his wife fell into a deep sleep he thought about their future.  Worry that the next shoe will drop and their happily ever after will have another obstacle to overcome to be achieved or something will occur that will prevent it from happening because they are so close.  Murphy's Law is right.  So close and yet so far. Will they reach the finish line for their forever or will it be snatched from them before it occurs?  Only the next chapters will enlighten the reader with the answers.  Making love in complete darkness with barely being able to see and only have the sense of touch very sensual and arousing.  Bella definitely enjoyed her wedding night for sure.

Author's Response:

Thanks for the wonderful synopsis! You know, my favorite part of the chapter was of them being in the dark! I thought that ws so so wonderful. I will drag these characters through hell and back, but they know have their HEA! In the end! ha.

I would like for you to try and guess the NEXT big thing that happens! It will blow you away. You WILL NOT see it coming! I am so ready to start writing it, but there is lots to do before...The whole  ride up to Alaska is a big question and answer period for them.

Bella is getting closer to being like the rest of the family.  In order to put her IV in Carlisle used his nail to cut through the hard skin to input the needle.  Carlisle's first attempt bent the needle.  Edward and Bella are starting their trip to Alaska.  Alice and Jasper will accompany them in case something goes wrong on the journey.  Bella went to get last minute things packed for the trip.  She found a box full of things that Edward had been buying for a while.  She loved of all things the vintage T-shirts, jeans, and especially the multiple pairs of novelty socks.  She packed them all in a duffle bag.  Edward decided he would make sure she got a new pair each week.  How absolutely adorable.  Bella decided she wouldn't stop Edward from buying her things since she realized it brings Edward joy to give her things.  It reflects his feelings for her to shower her with loving gifts.  At the last minute Rose approached Edward and said she and Emmett wanted to travel with them north.  Due to the time of year too many humans vacationing on the highway causing the Cullens to drive within normal speed ranges.  Bella last view of Forks was tender she had finally come to love the little town of her birth.  It wasn't the dreaded nowhere existence it had been when she was a little girl.  Loving Edward had opened her eyes to the beauty of the town and surrounding areas.  Edward loving Bella opened his eyes to the world around him and the possibilities of what his existence could actually be with the right person by his side.  Finding love, joy, contentment, and happiness together for the rest of their existence.

Appeared Bella slept most of the way to Alaska.  Did very much enjoy Rose's T-shirt shopping.  Really adored Emmett's new T.  Emmett throwing Edward similar to Bella's I'm with Stupid with the arrow.  My son has that T-shirt and his favorite time to wear it is when he's with me in public.  He finds it extremely humorous and chuckles most of the time we're together.  So Bella and Edward both having the same shirt only arrows pointing different direction.  I can imagine Carlisle trying to keep his face straight with the absurdity of the children before him.  Esme rolling her eyes where have we gone wrong.  Definitely something all mother's feel at times. Edward savoring each and every breath and beat of Bella's heart.  He knows the change is coming.  Edward on one hand can't wait for the change to be complete and on the other hand doesn't want to lose Bella as a human.  Bella wanted to be changed while making love so Edward could climax and ecstasy of drinking her blood at the same time.  Total physical release, satisfaction, and bliss for Edward.  Since Edward had already bitten her once and the venom had been in her system developed an allergy to his venom.  Since his venom was created by Carlisle, Carlisle was concerned anyone he changed would have same ingredient that Bella was allergic to.  That left only Alice and Jasper to complete the change.  Jasper flat out refused, understandable he has the hardest time staying on the veggie diet as it is now.  So Alice was elected.  Carlisle told her to suck Edward's venom out of Bella and he would tell her when removed and to insert her own venom.  Working as a team Alice was able to accomplish both tasks without the frenziness taking over her senses.  Bella screaming with the allergic reaction and finally with the totally burning sensation.  Placing Bella in the snowdrifts helped to ease some of the pain based on her screams diminished volume.  Edward will be moving her from drift to drift as her body melts through them quickly.  Very surprised that Alice was the person to change Bella into her future vampiric state.  It was a team effort between Alice and Carlisle.  I would imagine with Edward watching and caring over Bella for the majority of the days associated with Bella's change, any amount of things could occur.  Her heart could start to stutter and stop, being interrupted by any and everything.  Extremely curious what will be the next hurtle our favorite couple Bella and Edward will need to jump through as well as the entire Cullen family.  Looking forward to the next chapter.

Talk about pain for Bella.  With Bella's mind focusing on the pain and trying to keep herself calm and alert Edward was able to read her thoughts.  Bella wasn't able to have her mind block shield working.  She was in and out through the entire time.  She heard people talking to her now and then.  Alice talking about redecorating the motel rooms, office, common rooms, pool, playground, etc... Bella heard some of it.  Esme was talking about Edward prior to meeting Bella she only heard a portion of that conversation.  She wished she had heard more of it.  Just think how happy Edward was to hear her thoughts about the first time she saw him.  About their first kiss, etc....  What memories for him to get her reactions to those pivotal ones in the building of their relationship and their love.  Her thoughts about their wedding and their honeymoon.  Things Edward will cherish always.  He has his perspective and now has Bella's thoughts and feelings.  Finally she has gone through the pain/fire.  Looking forward to the reaction of Bella now that she has crossed to the other side.  She's a newborn.  Beautiful and hopely graceful.  But who knows graceful was never a strong suit for her.

I had a couple of favorite lines.  One of them one "Bella! It's me, love."  "Do you have a death wish Mr Cullen?" and then the second was Bella stating "What gives?" showing her filthy appearance.  Edward's response, "Practice, Bella.  Lots of practice."  Both are humorous and Bella's 1st newborn reaction to having someone sneak up behind her and possibility of stealing her prey.  The second Bella's upset about not being as tidy, neat, sparkling clean when feeding as her glorious handsome husband.  Bella's first time seeing everyone through her vampiric eyes.  The multiple colored facets of lights hurting her new eyes with its intensity.  Bella and Edward's first hunting trip together.  First time they make love as both vampires.  Sharing a kill for the first time.  Bella had experienced a lot of new firsts with Edward in the woods before rejoining the family.

That black crow always hovering over Bella.  Constantly watching her from a distance.  As a beacon of something coming.  A feeling of another obstacle arriving to spoil the happiness of Bella and Edward.  Who or what will arrive to thwart their happiness and their forever love?  The crow is a sign of disaster, an omen of something unpleasant, and another way to stop Edward and Bella from their forever together.  When Bella told the dream to the rest of the family the dread was felt by all.  All were confused both concerned about coming event.  I was very surprised about what Edward revealed about Rose and Alice along with Emmett and Jasper.  It gave quite a visual for both Bella and Edward to share an intimate time together.  I have to say my favorite line was the reference to Gone with the Wind.  Scarlett O'Hara's remarks after Rhett leaves her alone. I won't think about it now I'll think about it tomorrow.  "After all, tomorrow is another day."

The black raven is still hanging around Bella.  While hunting with Edward Bella encountered two new scents.  One was a bull moose.  Bella thought him too beautiful to drain and kill such a magnificent animal so they left him alone.  The second was human.  Bella went crazy, Edward barely caught her before she went after the young man.  When Bella thought about how to get away from Edward she realized she was planning on escape to murder an innocent.  She actually thought Edward would be angry about her almost slip.  When he explained it happens to all of them.  It's the true nature of the beast within them all.  The fact that she was able to rationally think if she got away she would have murdered that young man was admirable.  The raven is still following Bella, the mythology was varied on the raven.  The last she thought about the omen of death in the near future.  So almost killing the human wasn't the raven's message something that will be occurring soon will be the message.  Trying to warn Bella of something coming, too bad it's not giving anyone any clues.  Maybe from Jake's POV we might get a little insight as to the possibilities of what the omen is trying to warn Bella will happen in the future.

Grandfather Ephraim had premonitions for his tribe's future. They involved the wolf pack, the Cullens, and Bella Swan.  She was mentioned many times in them as the white fawn.  Jacob's dream of a black crow repeatedly every night and then once he read the words of his great grandfather when Billy and Jacob arrived home he saw the crow.  Scary an omen of something coming usually the crow is an omen of bad things to come.  While Seth and Jacob were checking a part of the beach for tribal celebration they noticed Charlie's cruiser up on the cliff diving top most part.  Seth and Jacob phased to check on Charlie.  As they followed his scent, they heart cracking sounds.  When they arrived at the clearing Seth attacked the other man with the baseball bat.  He had bashed Charlie in a couple places on his head.  He was bleeding badly.  Jacob called Edward hoping one of his family was near to save Charlie by changing him.  Huge amounts of blood lost.  Charlie was dying.  No information as to why he followed the man or why the man beat him up with a baseball bat.  But the prophecy said to make the sire one of them.  I am interpreting that to mean become a blood brother to Jacob.  Will Jacob be cutting himself and Charlie to have Jacob's blood flow into Charlie?  With the hope of Jacob's wolf fast healing properties being applied to Charlie through the sharing of his blood.  Bella is going to be devastated when she learns of her father's injuries.  Edward was shocked and he told Jake would send someone but with driving and flying time it would be about 7 hours.  Jake told Edward Charlie won't make 7 hours.  Still not sure why Seth or Jake didn't call 911 for paramedics.  They might have been able to help stop Charlie from bleeding out.  As well as possibly reset the arm and splint it.  My heart is so heavy with sadness thinking about a very broken Charlie.  Painful imagining Bella's reaction to the event.  Knowing Bella she'll blame herself for changing into a vampire and not being there to care for her dad.  If she hadn't been changed and they were still in Forks, her father could be saved.  Hoping Jacob's blood into Charlie will take the healing properties and revive Charlie.  I can only imagine how Bella will feel if she loses her dad.  Not knowing why he was up there and why that maniac kept hitting him with a bat.  She'll never get any answers, it will be a mystery without an answer for her to overcome.  So now we know why Bella saw the crow so often during her arrival in Alaska and in her dreams when she was still human.  Jake also had the dreams.  The families of the Swans, Cullens, and the tribe are closely connected.  Jake's dad is his father's best friend.  The two had been close for a very long time.  Jacob and Bella had known each other since childhood.  Bella loves Jacob, but not as much as she loves Edward, her soul mate.  Falling in love with him at first sight.  Twisted and so interlocked with all of them.  Looking forward to the next chapter to see if my guesses even come close to what Jake will do with the knife in his hand.  Thank you Seth for killing that man hurting Charlie.  Stopping him from doing more damage to Charlie.  From the extensive wounds Charlie doesn't have much time left.

Author's Response:

I don't like that you're upset. Can you go back and read the last bit, where Jacob is recalling the prophecy?

Edward was lucky Bella's not violent withholding information from her.  She was so frustrated when no one would tell her why everyone was so upset.  She at first thought it was because she almost killed a hiker on their morning run/hunt.  No one would have been so sad about that, it happens, it's the nature of the beast.  But when she realized no one knew about the hiker then she started to worry.  What's wrong, what happened?  Edward leaving to talk to Carlisle and leaving her.  Being left in the dark as to what was wrong had Bella worrying about everything that could go wrong.  Thinking of family and friends, some unknown disaster, etc.... with her vampiric mind's capacity to think quick scenarios where running through her  thoughts.  Once Edward and Alice returned to the house.  Edward was trying to tell her and protect her as much from the pain of her father's attack, wounded and bleeding towards death, and the change or adjustment to become a tribe member with Jacob and Billy.  Bella looks at Edward's face and his stalling tactics, she turns towards Alice.  She'll tell me.  So Alice takes her hand and walks back to the cottage.  Edward and the remaining members of his family all experience Bella's pain with the one word "NO!!." No matter how Edward told her, or Carlisle, or any of them, Bella would experience the pain of her father being attacked and near death.  The idea of his being changed into a werewolf.  A lot of information in a very short period of time.  She's going to feel guilty that they left.  She's so selfless, she would have preferred it to be her.  She'll blame herself that if it wasn't for her changing the Cullens could have remained in Forks.  The possibility of her father being hurt might never have happened.  Edward still has the instinct to protect Bella from any source of harm.  Whether it's physical, emotional, or spiritual.

Bella hearing the news about Charlie was so upset. She spoke out of the cabin door and Edward appeared to hold her.  At least the Black Crow is gone now.  Jacob and Seth guarding Charlie under the pink umbrella.  The other members of the pack arrived and questioned, what it was?  Reminded Jacob they are Indians "lean-to".  Jacob felt dumb, but on the spur of the moment Jake had been through a lot in a very quick amount of time.  The boys gathered branches and they built a lean to over Charlie to protect from the elements.  Carlisle called Jacob asking if he needed to take a helicopter to Forks.  Jake said no, Carlisle drove to Forks.  Jake gave him complete permission to be on any res land.  He arrived and said spine wasn't broken.  So the pack picked Charlie up and placed into Carlisle vehicle to go to his place.  When the pack arrived at the Cullens, they could smell burgers and fries.  Carlisle had questioned how many boys and he had stopped to purchase food for them.  That was so thoughtful.  Charlie's head injuries were almost healed, little swelling, but arm not sure.  Carlisle rebroke the bones hoping will start to mend by morning.  Charlie woke up yeah!!!  Confused where he was as Jake and Carlisle raced up the stairs.  Bella, Edward, and the rest of the family will leave tomorrow to drive back to Forks.

The wolves are going nuts.  Charlie appears fairly calm towards the vampires.  Of course his daughter is one of the vampires so that goes without saying he'll be calm around her.  Her new family is all vampires as well.  Jacob is the Alpha, but seems some of his authority is being thwarted.  Jasper is still upset about Alice being trapped by the wolves.  Having a hard time dealing with his emotions.  The fact that Edward was hurt also doesn't help.  He and Emmett go for a run to release some of his inner tension. Only to encounter the pack trying to force them to cross the line in order to attack them justified.  Appears even if they are on their own line the pack attacked Emmett and tore off his arm.  Since Jasper and Emmett were taking Old Quil to the Cullen's home for care.  He was mumbling something about red eyes and hinting at problem/trauma coming towards them.  Normalling the wolves have brown eyes the same eyes are their human images.  Now when the pack was approaching Emmett and Jasper their eyes were red.  Now that Charlie has fulfilled one to the last prophesies to become possibly the white wolf and now the red eyed pack (red eyed for vampires are human blood fed vampires.) Wonder if something evil has changed the pack will they also be attacking humans or just some supernatural force making them rebellious and dangerous to all. Looking forward to the explanation of the last prophesy and its meaning.  Whether Charlie is white wolf and the meaning of truth.  How the treaty will either remain or be changed forever?

Bella nice stroll over to Alice's house since Edward wasn't home.  He went to dinner at Emmett's and Rosalie's house with his mother.  He didn't come home at all. So Bella decided to go visit Alice with the open invitation.  Have a delightful day with her.  Left at sunset to return home.  Didn't think about Edward's reaction to coming home to an empty house.  He left and didn't return Bella felt justified to leave the house.  Of course, Edward did mention it to her where he was going to be.  Edward should have left her with the phone number of his brother's house in case of emergency.  It is like Bella is locked into the house almost a prisoner. When Edward returned home he would expect her home.  Dinner in the refrigerator maybe.  But Bella never left any note or message for him where she was going.  Edward does love her and he will be extremely worried about her.  Even though there is angry tension between them, this might wake Edward up a little about his negative treatment of Bella.  I am sure he has his reasons, but if they are going to live together in Colorado there has to be changes.  Bella resents the way Edward treats her.  Looking forward to additional chapters.

I knew he would be worried sick and then angry when she got home.  Edward was leaving just as she was getting up from falling to go look for her in the storm.  Edward still loves her, but all his hurt/pain he is burying within himself and only allowing the hate and anger to surface.  His actions were alienating Bella causing her to loath him in return.  But Bella realizing that Edward was concerned for her welfare and was on his way out to find her.  Showed her that deep down he cared and was the Edward she married. Hopefully these two will start talking about whatever bug Edward has and Bella's resentment of being locked away from everything and everyone she has ever known.  I don't understand why they both can't see the devasating pain that the other is causing their spouse.  Who wants to live in all that negativity around them.  That must hate/anger/pain is not good for the health of either one of them.

The snow outside the kitchen window sounded gloriously lovely.  There is nothing more beautiful than untouched snow. Bella wanted to go outside to play in the snow.  Was her intention to build a snowman or make snow angels?  Instead she joined Edward to shovel the driveway.  She decided to take a break and asked Edward if he wanted soup for lunch.  A nice gesture for all his hard work.  She heated it up and while she was eating her soup, Edward came in and threw the pot with tomato soup having it fly in all directions in the kitchen and on Bella.  Very rude of him.  Whatever Bella did to him that he won't forgive her, he needs to either deal with it or let her go.  Nobody deserves to be treated with such venom.  Bella has nothing else to do at home but cook, clean, and help with driveway.  If he hates her this much for whatever she did, why doesn't he just divorce her?  Treating her like dirt and totally indifferent to her is cruel and unusual punishment.  If you want to stay married, then you need to work on the issues.  If not split up and go on your own way.

Appears to be a lot of misunderstanding between Bella and Edward.  As well as lack of communication.  Bella being selfish in the beginning and a little cruel to Edward.  Edward being shy and awkward attracted to her.  Made an attempt to ask her to dinner.  She brought up Jacob.  She could have been more polite and walked back to him with an answer to his date question instead of responding across the room and embarrassing him in front of her two girlfriends.  Hard to believe she would be friends with Jessica and Lauren (Bimbo 1 and Bimbo 2).  She was the one to take his drink offer and she kissed him.  What's up with that?  If she had a boyfriend why did she kiss him?  Drunk isn't an excuse.  Somewhere she chose Edward over Jacob to marry.  Edward was happy on their wedding day until he saw her talking with Jacob.  But why, Bella married him, why would he become sad and withdrawn then.  Granted she used to date or see Jacob in Forks but that was before she met him unless there is more to the story that we don't know.  Granted she did do everything she wanted to do in New York at first with him and then by herself.  But there must have been some event that made him so hurt and angry that he became this tyrant.  Bella is truly broken so afraid of him, expecting him to be violent and cruel in words and deeds.  Why?  What does Edward have to forgive her for?  Esme saw that he was in love with Bella.  She must still see it.  She wants Bella because she knows Bella is the one that can make him happy.  But how when he is so distant, angry, overbearing, authoritarian, and mean.  Why doesn't Bella have any family or friends left?  Why would she marry Edward if she never loved him? Not totally making sense too many holes, mysteries I am sure will be revealed in future chapters.  Almost a gothic tone to the story.  a woman locked away since she can't drive no car, no funds, no way to go, and always alone.

Bella cooking dinner when Edward arrives home from work.  She places another plate at the table inviting him to join her.  Instead of turning on his heel to eat later he joined her.  Appeared her enjoyed the meal.  Told her his plans for the following day.  Questioned her twice if it was okay.  He does care for her.  The final proof was stopping her before she went upstairs to her room to check the cut on her hand. Advising her to be careful with it exposed without a bandage.  They both have feelings Bella had anticipation for him to come into the dining room.  She was pleased he appeared to like the dinner she made them.  The animosity between them seems to be diminishing.  At least they can tolerate being in the same room.  A little conversation between them, but doesn't include all the snide and sarcastic remarks as before.  So maybe this move will be good for them both to recapture the loving feelings they had to get married in the first place.

The tension in the house between Edward and Bella isn't healthy for either of them.  Bella is a virtual prisoner in that house.  She has no vehicle, no telephone service with either landline or cell phone.  The closest house is Alice and Jasper and still quite a distance.  Esme stopped by to make sure Bella was feeling better from missing the dinner at Rose's the previous week.  Bella backed up Edward's lies.  Esme stayed and helped with cleaning the living room with Bella.  They had nice conversations with memories of the home with Carlisle and the family.  Esme did ask her direct questions of why they stayed in the house.  She answered them truthfully.  They are staying because Edward wanted to actually needed to stay and reconnect with his family.  Bella needed a change from big city life.  Also that it was extremely peaceful there.  Peaceful because she is all by herself at the house during the day.  In the evening, she stays in her room alone.  It's like two strangers/enemies living in the same place.  Avoidance, Avoidance.  Don't want to deal with happened prior.  Edward wants her to beg for forgiveness.  I don't think that's necessary.  Begging isn't the answer, talking through the problems.  I still literally HATE the way he talks to her.  Humiliating her at every turn. But with his mother he had genuine smile and courtsey.  I was surprised Bella even answered any of his questions and didn't just storm out of the kitchen to her room and tell him to go to hell.  Make up his own answers.  If he is lying to his family, it might be nice to know the lies so she could maintain the farce of their marriage.  Still wondering why she doesn't leave him and divorce him.  He acts with such violence and venom towards her.  When is he going to start beating her because that is the next step after all the banging on tables and cupboards and yelling hateful statements and all his degrading comments to her.

Bella passing the time with cleaning the second floor since she finished the first floor with Esme.  Did all the rooms except Edward's.  Bella made a conscious effort to go in knowing Edward could be home any minute.  Was amazed at the tornado disaster in front of her.  She went in to grab all the dirty clothes on the floor to take to laundry room.  Once first load in the washer, she returned to tackle another project in the room.  Walked in only to find a stunned Edward staring at the floor.  She gasped when she realized Edward was home.  Boy, the fight that ensued was a nasty one.  I am glad Bella stood up to him.  Edward tried to maintain control, but lost it.  Bella stood her ground demanding why she was with him.  Edward wouldn't answer. Then finally just yelled for her to Get Out of His House.  Yelled like a mad man.  So Bella went running out the front door.  She doesn't have any money, no phone to call anyone, no vehicle to drive away, nothing to allow her far from the area, and the only place to head would be Alice and Jasper's.  Can only assume that is probably where Bella will head.  Edward really needs to get his head out of his ass and decide what he really wants.  From Bella's memories of the past on the ski trip, Edward joining Bella and Jacob with his friend from back home Nessie was the start of the problems.  Jacob took immediate attraction to Nessie which probably wasn't good on a trip Bella was expecting a marriage proposal.  By Edward's innovative action caused the demise of Bella's relationship with Jacob.  Looking forward to following chapters to determine where Bella would head for sanctuary.  Whether Edward would be honest with himself why he won't divorce Bella or allow her to prove herself to him again.  As I have said before the situation is destruction to both of their psyches.  Neither will ever be happy until whatever in the past occurred has been resolved or moved on from it.
