I have posted many stories in other fandoms, but I am relatively new to the world of Twilight fanfiction. I'm completely captivated by the wealth of stories I've found on this site. I'm thrilled to be posting here at twilighted.
Readers should probably know that I am a bit of a hurt/comfort addict, so you can expect to see elements of this in most of my work. I'm not really cruel; I just enjoy writing scenes of comfort that express the characters' affection for each other. My academicl/professional background is in psychology, so you can also anticipate quite a bit of emotional exploration in my work. Angst is not out of the question!
I also have a quirk about completing a story before beginning to post it. I am so impressed with authors who can write as they go... but sadly I don't share that talent. So, once I begin posting, new chapters should follow on a very regular basis.
Enjoy!
P.S. Most of my stories are cross-posted at fanfiction.net:

For anyone who wants to read the second half of "Touching Solitude," it can be found there.

Title: Chapter 1: Detach (one-shot)
This is absolutely beautiful--poignant, heart-wrenching, and evocative. This story is truly the best exploration of this event that I have ever read. You are a talented and highly perceptive writer! Author's Response: Thank you so very much for your comments! And my apologies for not responding sooner. If you enjoyed this story, I would highly suggest "For Her" by Subtlynice - we wrote our stories independently, but came to the conclusion that our stories fit together very well, almost as if mine takes off from where her's ended (her's is Edward's POV as he's doing the leaving). You can find it here on Twilighted: http://twilighted.net/viewstory.php?sid=979
Thanks again! I'm glad you enjoyed it =)
Summary: An in canon retelling of Breaking Dawn from the perspective of the thoughtful and pensive Edward.
Time passed, and I was blissfully unaware. I existed only in this moment with her. Hope burgeoned deep within me as I gazed at the sleeping enchantress. She was my salvation… my reason for carrying on what I had once believed to be a pointless and cursed existence. Through Bella’s love, I was redeemed. Through her, I’d finally found the peace that had eluded me for so many years. And so it was here, in our bubble, that I remained for as long as time permitted. Lulled into a state of relaxation by the steady pounding of Bella’s heart, and the rhythmic crashing of the waves.

That was marvelous! Truly, you did a superb job capturing Edward's thoughts. You found the perfect balance between his emotions and his rationality. This is one of the best "first" scenes that I have ever read. I am eager for you to continue the story from Edward's perspective!

I am completely captivated by this story! I've read all 14 chapters straight through. The plot is fascinating, with fabulous twists and turns. Legeera is a unique and compelling character as well. I do hope you'll share the next chapter soon! Author's Response: Thank you so much for your review. I really appreciate it and I'm so glad you like my story. All the chapters straight through? Kewl ***grinning***. Yes, Legeera is my little kitty and I admit to loving her. Next chapter is at the beta, hopefully to post soon. Thanks again! Keep letting me know what you think. Debra

Title: Chapter 15: Chapter 15
I am still absolutely captivated by this story! It is a relief that all made it home safely, but of course there is still much healing to be done. Bella still has the punctures on her back, doesn't she? And poor Alice... I know that the next chapter will be rich in emotion and depth of character, as have the previous ones. Thank you for your beautiful, excellent work! Author's Response: Thank you so much. I'm really glad you are enjoying this little tale of mine. Yes, Bella still has the puntures (more about that in the next chapter). Yes, very much more about Alice. Thank you again. Debra

Title: Chapter 16: Chapter 16
Oh, this chapter did not disappoint! It was maravelous: rich in emotion and full of delicious angst. Your writing style makes your work a joy to read. I like your frankness, as well as your depth. You do a wonderful job of seamlessly shifting to each character's perspective, altering the language sublty to capture the invididual personalities. Also, I appreciate the tightness of your plotting. You are following up on each detail, which makes the story incredibly coherent in every sense of the word. It would be an understatement to say that I am begging for more! Author's Response: Thank you so very much. Your generous review is wonderful and so very much appreciated. I'm glad you are enjoying my story. As for writing style, well, I just write. I've never tried POV, this just seems easier to me. I am working on a second story to write, and I might try POV this next time. Scared too, lol. It's nice to hear from you and let me know what you think as we go alone. Hearing from you guys makes all the difference in my writing. It encourages me to keep thinking my way through this thing. Summary:
Awesome Banner by Anne Cullen!!
Edward's POV of Bella's pregnancy, burning and awakening in Breaking Dawn. Covers all the missing moments with Edward, Bella, Renesmee and the Cullens, and everything that they went through. Starts when Edward and Bella arrive home from Isle Esme and meet the Cullens at the airport. Find out what happened after Bella ran into Rosalie's arms...
In a fraction of a second, I was at Bella's side, the rest of my family still frozen. I put my hands on Bella's shoulders.
"Let her go, Rose," I said, my voice deadly. She just stared back at me grimly. I searched her mind, trying to get a hold of her plans. There was a resolve, a plan to protect the baby at all costs. And an aching desire she couldn't hide to have that baby as her own....
******************
Her face was so deathly still, no response. She was unearthly pale, and there was the slightest blue tinge to her skin, the sky pale at dawn. As I pressed my lips to hers, they were too cool. I blew in gently twice, watching her chest rise and fall mechanically. I moved my mouth to her ear as my hands began to move again.
"Come on, Bella, love," I whispered. "Come on, sweetheart. I'm right here. You did it. You've got a healthy baby. She's so beautiful. You were strong enough. Now it's time for you to come back. She's waiting. I'm waiting, love. I'm waiting for you, always...

Summary:
As the time for Bella to join the Cullen family as a vampire draws near, Edward becomes convinced that allowing her to be changed would be a mistake. Out of options, he resorts to drastic measures to keep Bella human, and takes them both on a journey of discovery across five states, ultimately forcing Carlisle and the rest of the family to intervene. Alice, in the meanwhile, seems to have her own agenda concerning Edward and Bella.

Title: Chapter 10: Chapter 10
Once again you've written a powerful chapter, rich with emotion and depth of character. I'm enjoying seeing the sterner side of Carlisle; I think you've explored that well, and I find it believable in this circumstance. I am enthralled by your portrayal of Bella's and Edward's love for each other. You've conveyed that beatuifully. I have to confess, however, to feeling a bit disappointed that you didn't really continue the scene with Carlisle and Bella at the beginning of this chapter. I was very interested to hear their discussion and see her reactions. Perhaps you could slip in a little flashback? Regardless, I am very, very eager for the next chapter!
Summary: It is a long, hot summer in Forks, Washington. Edward is struggling with the aftermath of James' attack. Bella has survived, but it's brought to light all of Edward's worst fears. The Cullens are for a time split between bringing Bella deeper into their world and trying to keep her out of it.
But Fate has more surprises in store for Bella and the Cullens. As the summer grows, Bella slowly realizes that something is happening to her. Too afraid now to trust the Cullens to stay by her side, she struggles with the events on her own.
However, something this big, this monumental, cannot be hidden for long. Join Bella and the Cullens as they discover that which even they could never have predicted: That Bella is a daughter of the Pale Crescent.
Join them as Bella lives her Final Year as human. And even so... she is not entirely human in this final year. She was never human, and she has been marked for death.

I am completed enthralled by this! The small hints you've provided promise a thrilling, complex tale. I will wait anxiously for subsequent chapters! Author's Response: Oooh. Enthrallment is always a good thing. ;) Thank you! I'm trying to do a kind of mystery for the first half of the story, not revealing what Bella is until about mid-way through the story. Oh, you shouldn't have to wait long for the next chapter. I'm hoping about a couple of weeks. :)

Oh, I love this! And I didn't think it implausible, either. I live in the Southwest, and rare tornadoes/microbursts can do severe damage in an instant. But poor Bella and Edward--stuck right in the midst of it. I'm eager to see what the damages will be and how Edward will cope with them. Please share your next chapter soon! Wow! I was not expecting this turn of events! But it's a great twist. Hmm... Edward has no functioning heart, so I wonder if he's the Tin Man? And who will be the Cowardly Lion? I'm pegging Carlisle as the Wizard... I hope there's no Wicked Witch! Sorry for the whimsicality; I couldn't resist! Anyway, I'm really enjoying this and finding it thoroughly intriguing. I hope you will continue it soon! Author's Response: Thanks! I'm glad you're enjoying the twist ... you may be onto something there with some of your theories!
