Hi, I'm a new fan of Twilight - I found this lovely series back when the DVD was released at the end of March. I fell in love with the romance, intrique and impossibility of it all. I then read all of the books and now i'm hooked!
I'm 31, married and an amateur writer - trying to work on my style of writing...Currently I have no fanfics but would love to work on one with another author...

Title: Chapter 1: Chapter 1
This was great to see, I thought this scene was sorely lacking in the BD! I was so surprised too because New Moon and Eclipse were so vivid in the scenes you were expecting...and you really wanted a confrontation with B/E regarding the baby...why was Bella fighting so hard for her...
Anyway - I loved your interpretation!
Summary: 
Bella went cliff diving, but it didn't turn out so well. She broke her back. A decade later, Edward reappears in her life on the same night she loses her best friend and husband to a freak accident. Now a graduate student in Women's Studies, Bella isn't thrilled to see him. But when the Cullens re-enter Bella's life, they bring change, hope, and a new joint project that will require all their expertises.

Special Update:
For personal reasons (a ridiculously full teaching schedule and being recently put in charge of a bi-annual local conference and ongoing project), I am no longer able to reply to reviews and questions. But that said, I wanted to give a BIG THANK YOU to EVERYBODY for the wonderful feedback and kind words that have been sent my way since the completion of this story in August 2009. I do still check my messages about once every 1-2 weeks and read *every* review. I just have too many to reply to anymore, but I didn’t want anyone to think I was ignoring her/him in particular, or didn’t appreciate readers taking time to leave a review. Writing this story was tons of fun and I’m thrilled readers seem to enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed the chance to write it. I can’t tell you how flattering that is!!! I have loved your realism when it comes to Bella's injury, Edward's lack of experience and their journey to finding one another again. It's been so special to watch them fall in love AGAIN at a different stage in both of their lives! Author's Response: Thank you! And yeah, I wanted this to be *realistically* a virgin Edward, but one who still knew at least a little of what he's doing. Just that the physical can overwhelm him and he finds that "knowing" isn't the same thing as "doing." Ha. :-)

I really loved this epilogue. I loved how you ended it...Death isn't an ending and too often people feel that it is. As painful as death is to those left behind to the person leaving it's a wonderous, joyful thing! The end of one journey and the beginning of something amazing! Author's Response: Thank you! And I think the fact we die is part of what gives meaning to living! While I agree that death too young can be really tragic for things left undone, for Martha, that wasn't really the case. She was ready. :-)

wow - i just loved this chapter. It reallys shows how edward could never really give her up!
Summary: You know those fics where Edward doesn't come back and Bella forgets about him and five seconds later she's in bed with Jacob and none of it makes any damn sense?
Yeah, this isn't one of them.
This story picks up from the moment in New Moon when Jacob has driven Bella home after the cliff diving incident, right before he catches the scent of Alice. Only in this telling, Alice wasn't looking, so there's no sudden appearance at Bella's house, no Rosalie calling Edward and sending him on a suicidal mission to Volterra, and no reason for Bella to do anything but believe that Edward didn't love her anymore. This is simply a story of what might have happened if everyone stayed mostly in character and Edward's return was delayed. Yes, delayed. Because we all know that he was "this close" to coming back on his own anyhow.
So what would have happened if Bella had tried to move on with her life? Would she have found happiness with Jacob? And would Edward be too late?
