This story has a backdrop of WWII and the Holocaust. It is a love story between a German soldier and a Jewish prisoner of war. I am Jewish so this setting is something that is a part of my family's history. I would never disrespect the Jewish culture and history nor my family's history.

There's no rape, coercion, etc, of any kind in this story. There is a scene with dominance, but not rape. Rape is a serious crime that should never, ever be confused with dominance. Never at any point in this story, does Edward use his position to force Bella to have sex with him. Bella gives her consent freely and truly wants to love Edward and have him love her in return. Again, it is a love story.

In the dead silence, all of the details suddenly fell into place for me. I’d made an absolute fool of myself. Jacob was smitten, thrilled that I cared so much for him, while my husband stood there, betrayal and disappointment written across his face. He turned away from me, and the realization hit me: in all my efforts to right Rosalie’s wrongs, I lost sight of what was actually important. And on top of that, he’d given me ample enough warning.
