Summary: Anna Russo has received a new identity and is on the run from her abusive ex-boyfriend with her young son in tow. She ends up in Forks, where she is now known as Bella Swan, and meets Edward Cullen. While she can't deny the unexplainable pull she feels toward him, she also can't shake off the feeling that he is not quite normal and not quite...human. Does she dare explore a new relationship with Edward while in fear for her life? Will Edward be able to put her safety first and stay away from the family he's always dreamed of having? And what will Bella's jilted ex do when he finally does catch up with her?
Sometimes, humans are monsters, too.

Oh my god. How much did I love this chapter? Words cannot express it!
Favorite Line: "He would do it all. He was a vampire; he could multitask."
And that his love and devotion instantly extended to Bella's child in a very real and concrete way, and that Ben is obviously in on the 'mom has just become the mate of a vampire' mystical business in that he feels safe even unconsciously... I just ADORE it.

You know, I'm mostly a nonviolent person, but I have to say, I wouldn't be opposed to you torturing him. I don't love that I'd like to see it, but it's true.

It is always good to see some reference to the fact that enacting violence on someone changes the person enacting it, as much as the person receiving it. Thank you for treating this topic with respect.

Sare Author's Response: I'm glad you found it realistic (well, as realistic as it could be). And yes, even though Edward was all for taking care of Eric, he's not going to walk away unscathed himself. That is the main reason he follows the Cullen's vegetarian diet - he does not want to be a monster and in this scene, he was. Thank you for your input and for reading and reviewing!
Summary:  
EPOV. Edward is having trouble balancing his urges for Bella's blood and Bella's body before the wedding. What started out as a simple "Practice Fic" has become a retelling of BD from EPOV that lets us see just how much he struggles for control at every turn.
Warning: Edward's got issues. Some dark images and angst, but nothing too bad and quickly giving way to steamy goodness.

...Gah. For a moment I had this vision of him doing compressions for three solid days, and the angst and torture of a sort of vampire-zombie hybrid that she would turn out to be... Author's Response: What a horrible thought! But he would have done it!
I'm so glad you felt the same way I did about this ending. I swear, it was like I was writing it against my will. The sadder it got I was like, "No, now that's enough Edward... no, that's REALLY enough.... DAMMIT, knock it off!"
