Bella Swan spent the first two years of her life in Forks developing a friendship with Jacob Black that finally turned into something more.  As she begins her senior year of high school, a new family moves to town and Bella slowly begins to question the path she thought her life would follow.  Sometimes there is a difference between what you think you need and what you never knew you wanted.  Takes place during the timeframe of New Moon and Eclipse.  J/B at first, but eventually E/B. 

Bella went cliff diving, but it didn't turn out so well. She broke her back. A decade later, Edward reappears in her life on the same night she loses her best friend and husband to a freak accident. Now a graduate student in Women's Studies, Bella isn't thrilled to see him. But when the Cullens re-enter Bella's life, they bring change, hope, and a new joint project that will require all their expertises.

Special Update:

For personal reasons (a ridiculously full teaching schedule and being recently put in charge of a bi-annual local conference and ongoing project), I am no longer able to reply to reviews and questions. But that said, I wanted to give a BIG THANK YOU to EVERYBODY for the wonderful feedback and kind words that have been sent my way since the completion of this story in August 2009. I do still check my messages about once every 1-2 weeks and read *every* review. It is seventy-five years after Renesmee was born, and the Cullen family is moving back to Forks.  How do they react to being "home"?  And what do they do when yet another once in a lifetime (or rather existence) event occurs?  And how do the Volturi take to this development?

Having stayed in Forks much longer than was wise or safe, the Cullens begin a new life in northern Vermont. Of course, wherever the Cullens go, so does Jacob and his pack. Life is peaceful in the wild, remote wilderness of the Green Mountains until a new family moves into a nearby abandoned estate, causing Alice to have visions of a new vampire coming to the area. This vampire has secrets of his own. And the new neighbors are much more than what they seem.

Bella Swan’s parents die in an accident, and she has to move to the small, village-like homestead township of Forks Prairie with her uncle, Charles Swan. Fate brings her to Edward’s doorstep, and the dreaded monster rears its ugly head. Will she survive the monster?
