Summary: 
What if in the beginning Edward lied to everyone about being in love with Bella? What if originally it actually was all about Bella's scent? And what would happen then if accidentally, much against his will, Edward kind of sort of fell head over heels in love with this not-so-dull human girl?
This is an AU of the Twilight Saga using an entirely different plot as to how, why, and when Edward and Bella fell in love. It offers a different explanation for what was so special about Bella Swan, why Edward vigilantly enforced those physical boundaries, why there's tension between the Cullens and the wolves, and why Edward behaved the way he did not only with Bella but with his family. Expect romance, mystery, angst, and humor. Dark Edward.
Canon Pairings, No BxExJ, OOC.
This story is rated NC-17 because of occasional naughty language, violence (or implied violence) against humans, vampires, werewolves, animals, insects, minding-their-own-business-pajamas, entities, books, coffee tables, leather recliners, bridges, sword ferns, shrubs, rocks, and worst of all....trees. It is also rated NC-17 due to excessive snarkiness by Edward, references to underage drinking, practical jokes and/or enthusiastic tormenting of secondary characters particularly Mike Newton, Jacob Black, and Charles Swan. this was the funniest part of anything i have ever read in my mortal life lol lol lol Author's Response: I had to go there. Edward is completely demented in that chapter. I wanted to show just how unthinkingly ruthless he is believing to have the moral high ground all along. He can't handle the fact that he almost slipped and killed her in more ways than one. So he's overcompensating by literally tearing down the scene of the crime and rebuilding it and making her life safer from fungii and dust mites. The OCD like behavior won't be that bad in the next chapter. :)

Thanks so much for your review! I'm glad you enjoyed the wolf angle. There's a bit more to that story. I had fun trying to come up with a different explanation for the tribal politics and re-framing that pesky treaty so that Bella getting bitten was not an issue.
The thing to keep in mind with Edward is that he's not very self-aware despite all that over-thinking. He has spent 75 years creating this "shy" person (and the dreams he has of his past show that he was in fact shy in his human life), who is the perfect vegetarian vampire. The only way he can construct a rational reason to allow a creature such as himself to be around Bella is to be protective of her, to remind himself constantly of what a marvel she is. Notice that he's still calling her his human, although he's not added in other endearments such as his dear little bottle cap. What you're seeing in this chapter is that he needs her emotionally and being without her is a huge shock to his system. Hence, he's been given some motivation to address that whole sleeping together business. :) Books

Author's Response: From what Genevieve is saying through sock-puppet Bella it does indeed appear that Skeevy witnessed Jasper's family being killed. Since Aaron took his time about it according to Edward's memory of the vision, that makes Skeevy look even worse at least to me.
