Summary: 
Bella went cliff diving, but it didn't turn out so well. She broke her back. A decade later, Edward reappears in her life on the same night she loses her best friend and husband to a freak accident. Now a graduate student in Women's Studies, Bella isn't thrilled to see him. But when the Cullens re-enter Bella's life, they bring change, hope, and a new joint project that will require all their expertises.

Special Update:
For personal reasons (a ridiculously full teaching schedule and being recently put in charge of a bi-annual local conference and ongoing project), I am no longer able to reply to reviews and questions. But that said, I wanted to give a BIG THANK YOU to EVERYBODY for the wonderful feedback and kind words that have been sent my way since the completion of this story in August 2009. I do still check my messages about once every 1-2 weeks and read *every* review. I just have too many to reply to anymore, but I didn’t want anyone to think I was ignoring her/him in particular, or didn’t appreciate readers taking time to leave a review. Writing this story was tons of fun and I’m thrilled readers seem to enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed the chance to write it. I can’t tell you how flattering that is!!! As I used to reply to all reviews, I feel a little badly about this decision, but work has been requiring virtually all of my time since the new (academic) year began.

Ah! So worth the wait! prescription vibrators? Really? i always glean some new knowledge from each chapter it seems. i have to say that I read the previous chapter in the hospital bed after giving birth to my 3rd son- regretfully not named Edward, and have just finished this one during an seemingly endless nursing session. So thanks to Apple for creating the iphone and thanks to you for creating itboaeye to keep me sane through, more or less, through it all.
i really look forward to each new chapter. Author's Response: Yes, prescription vibrators. They're made just for paras and quads because traditional vibrators 1) usually aren't STRONG enough, and 2) aren't made for people who may have trouble gripping them or limited hand strength. (That latter isn't Bella's issue, but it is for some quads.) Also, the male version is made to collect semen for men who want to have children. SCI men can often get an erection, but they can't necessarily ejaculate from "normal" intercourse (nor can many women). Again, it's autonomous nerves so they're reactive to physical stimulation, not just mental, so an erection doesn't require the brain to be part of it. These vibrators give the extra stimulation that normal coitus/sex can't. So Bella can have an orgasm with manual stimulation and a vibrator (or superfast Edward!), but she can't from "normal" penetration.
And congratulations on the baby!!! iPhones are SO cool. I want one.
Summary: Bella is a witness in peril. Emmett Cullen is the deputy assigned to protect her. When the witness protection program proves unsafe, Emmett has Bella pose as his brother Edward's fiancée. ExB. AU/AH.

Title: Chapter 1: Chapter 1
Hey! I really like your first chapter. I think maybe the first time I've read the word nipple in a twilight fanfic that didn't involve piercing or you know...fondling of some kind! Funny enough I read this chapter at 4 am when I was awake nursing my 7 week old baby so the chapter was totally relatable. I hope you continue with this story. I am eager and curious to see how this story will unfold...good stuff!

Ah, I'm so glad you're back with an update. I was worried about you! I was really moved by this chapter. From the funeral to Victoria's abuse. So novel to have Victoria as a sympathetic character. Look forward to the next update. Alice isn't the only one waiting for E&B to set the date?
Summary: A little different, slightly more amusing... and unedited... look at the infamous leg hitch scene…sort of.
