Summary: 
It only takes a split second of hesitation to turn Edward's world upside down. Because of that coupled with Jasper's intense bloodlust, Bella's birthday will now be known as the anniversary of the day she was changed. He needs to find it in himself to both help his girlfriend, and forgive his brother.

I don't know why I didn't figure the wolves into your story, but I hadn't. It took me by surprise, but that's a good thing. A twist in the story adds spice as long as it fits and makes sense--like yours. Author's Response: Thanks for the review!! I figured the wolves (well, WOLF at this point) wouldn't just sit by and do nothing - not even investigate. Once Billy relayed the information of Bella's "running away", the elders would be fairly certain what had happened. And then we have the issue that Bella hadn't yet become good friends with Jacob yet, so they can't rely on any favours being granted because of that friendship.

I always feel so sad for Charlie when Bella's changed. He really doesn't have anyone else. At least in your story, he only thinks Bella's run off.
Great emotional chapter! Author's Response: :( *hugs Charlie* yeah... it breaks my heart when he loses Bella... every single time. I just couldn't have him (and the rest of the town) have to mourn her when it wasn't neccessary.

That was beautiful! We never, ever want to see our children suffer, and we always want them to make good choices. It breaks a mother's heart when her son goes against what he knows is right, but there's always hope. Author's Response: Thank you for sharing your view of the story. And yes, that was the feeling I wanted to capture. My sister-in-law struggles with her daughter's alcoholism and I see her having to make difficult choices over and over. Denial was on both sides. My niece is still connected to the family, so we continue to hope.
