Summary: Renee took Bella away from Charlie when she was four years old. Suffering her mother’s abuse, she often wished for her mysterious father to come and save her from her life. Now a twenty-four year old schoolteacher, Bella suffers from a severe anxiety disorder. In an act of desperation, she leaves everything she ever knew behind to do some soul searching. She lands in Forks, Washington, and her journey of self-discovery begins.
Meanwhile, Edward Cullen is a twenty-seven year old man with a successful career in Seattle. When he receives the news that his parents are dead, he must leave everything behind and return to Forks to care for his much younger sister, Alice. Edward struggles with the challenges of trying to raise a fourteen-year-old girl.
What will happen when Edward and Bella's paths cross? Can they save each other?

Title: Chapter 11: Chapter 10- Burning
Poor little Alice. I know there are mean kids in schools--I've dealt with them--but I will never really understand why they do that. I've never wanted to hit someone as much as I wanted to hit a student who was cruel to one of the special needs kids in my class. Author's Response: I'm not a teacher myself, but I come from a family of teachers, and I've heard horror stories. I don't understand it myself, but the sad thing is, things like this happen and cause emotional scars that last forever. It's so sad!

I absolutely adore Carlisle, so a mean Carlisle is hard for me to swallow. However, your writing is pretty compelling, so I'm willing to take a chance. I hope he redeems himself. Author's Response: Dear VictoriaCullen,
If I may share a secret with you, I absolutely adore Carlisle too! In a strange, not-so-obvious kinda way, this is really Carlisle's story. Yes, he will do some pretty awful things, but my effort will be to show that deep hurt can drive even the most benevolent of men to insanity. I will try my best, at least.
