Here's the recipe:
Maple Pecan Sausage Casserole
1 10 oz. pkg. Sausage links (i used bob evans)
1 16 oz. loaf raisin bread, cubed (I used Cinnabon Bread--Giant Eagle)
1/2 cup dried apricots, finely chopped
6 eggs
3 cups half n half or milk ( i used 1 1/2 cup fat free half n half and 1 1/2 cup skim milk)
4 T. maple syrup, divided (or 2 T. maple syrup and 1 t. vanilla) ( I used real maple syrup)
1/2 t. pumpkin pie spice
1 cup pecans, chopped
3/4 cup light brown sugar, packed
1/3 cup butter or marg., softened, or melted
Strawberries and mint for garnish
for maple creme, mix:
1 cup heavy whipping cream, chilled
2 T. powdered sugar
3 T. maple syrup
heat oven to 350. spray 9x13 or slightly smaller glass baking dish with nonstick spray.
in lg. skillet, brown sausage until no longer pink (12 min); drain. cut into bite size pieces
place sausage in baking dish; add cubed raisin bread and apricots. toss to mix.
in lg. bowl whisk eggs, half n half, 2 T. maple syrup OR 1 tsp. vanilla, pumpkin pie spice. blend well. pour over sausage mixture. *after this step you can cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
in med. bowl combine pecans, br. sugar, butter and 2 T. maple syrup. spoon over top of casserole.
bake, uncovered, 30 -40 min. or til knife comes out clean. (45-60 min if coming out of refrigerator)
serve with a dollop of Maple Creme by beating all ingredients in a small bowl til stiff peaks form. garnish with strawberries and mint.
serves 8.

Summary: This is a three part short story that is Jasper's point of view of Bella's 18th Birthday party. Read what the evening was like through Jasper's thirsty eyes.
We learn about his past as he struggles to forget the horrors that shaped him into the only Cullen who still struggles significantly with a day to day life of abstaining from human blood. Alice has tried for decades to help her husband abstain, but we all know that he eventually slips.
What caused him to finally break?
Jasper certainly never thought a paper cut would change his life or the lives of those around him so significantly. Set during New Moon.
