“What are you thinking?” Edward asked me.
“I’m thinking about how big of a failure I am,” I answered truthfully.
We were still holding each other in his classroom and I realized quickly how dangerous that was...that was where Edward and I went wrong. The need we both felt to touch each other was costing us, and if I didn’t put a stop to it, well, I knew things were going to get worse way before they got better.
Edward narrowed his eyes at me disapprovingly. “You're not a failure, Bella.”
The furrow in his brow only increased as I put some distance between us. He reached out to bring me back in, but I shook my head stubbornly.
“I’m not running,” I assured him, “but we need to stop being so open. While I’m here, we need to at least pretend I’m your student.”
Edward ran his hands through his hair roughly and I envied him at that moment. Only a minute had passed and I was already losing my resolve.
“She’s right, you know.”
My body tensed to the voice that suddenly was in the room with us. It was unfamiliar and I couldn’t place it for the life of me, but this unknown voice was agreeing with me--which meant, this unknown person heard everything I said…

I'm interested to see how long it takes Bella and Edward to fall head over heels instead of just their arrangement.
One tiny nitpicky thing that I'm sure you know anyway. It's really bon soir. :o) Author's Response: Are you referring to bonswa?? Cuz I know that's not the correct French term, it's a Creole bastardization :)
Summary: Edward left two months ago, and Bella has slipped deeper and deeper into darkness. Her extreme solution provides a closer look at the pair as we find out what happens to their plans of forever.

Exciting chapter. I hate that they weren't able to save the kids; can't they send someone to free them? Author's Response: Yeah, Jasper called the police and let them know where some people were being held. Whether the police made it in time and the captives get a happy ending is strictly up to the reader;)

I love the time with Edward and Bella, but I keep thinking Renee's going to show up unannounced and all Hell will break loose. Renee's not nice in your story, obviously.
I'm anxious to see what all Bella has endured and what happened with Esme and Renee. Could Renee know that Esme's called CPS on her? Author's Response: There's definitely some stuff that Renee knows -- and will be revealed in the next few chapters.
